I don't know precisely how those terms compare, but it sounds like AIN is more like CNA (certified nursing assistant) here, and Abbie would be more like an EN. A CNA isn't a nurse, though, and Abbie's degree, LPN, is the minimum you need to be able to accurately call yourself a nurse.

I think you are right AIN is an assistant in nursing and en is an enrolled nurse and RN is a registered nurse, the highest (in pay and qualifications) EN's for us are still limited in what they can do (ie give medications and certain procedures) but they do call themselves nurses.

If that's the BM dress, I like it!

I'm not much of a breakfast person, but a cold waffle at 3PM is gross.

No Derick? Is he banned?

nursing is a "woman job" by fundie standards and therefore appropriate by fundie standards. i'm sure @viii (and myself) will be impressed when a fundie boy marries a woman who is employed  "inappropriately" in a male-dominated field. you are grossly projecting someone's statements about *working single fundamentalist women* onto the stated profession overall.

Huh. That drone thing sound like they stole it from the Maxwells. Wonder if this is going to be the next trend for fundie weddings? Also, cold cereal for a wedding sounds terrible. No eggs and toast cooked offsite and brought in? I mean, they did have waffles (that hopefully weren't stale), so...

Cold waffles? And cereal at a wedding?

That doesn't sound as good as the breakfast buffet I was imagining. :pb_lol:

No wonder everyone went to Chick-fil-A afterwards.

They could have done a hot breakfast buffet.  Even catered wouldn’t be horribly expensive.  I like to feed people and to see them go from my wedding to that f’ing chicken thing would have been upsetting.

There was a bridesmaid at Josie's wedding in a similar dress but with long sleeves

I wonder if the excuse for Derick’s absence was school related #besthubby ever trying to provide for the family by getting his law degree. When in fact it was really something else if he in fact was missing

best news all day . No Derick - tlc didn't want him in the filming. Jill they have to kind of ...because she is a duggar. Derick a big no no cause he LEFT THE SHOW.

cold pizza would have been more appropriate.

Yep, that’s what they looked like. The three flower girls (Jordyn-Grace, Meredith, and another little one i didn’t know) wore lace & sequin dresses in a similar color.

I think i saw Derrick in passing before the ceremony, but i never saw Jill & didn’t see either of them during the ceremony, so i guess it’s possible it wasn’t him i saw. I was surprised i didn’t see Jill, though, since Izzy was a ring bearer.

And yes, Josh was indeed a groomsman. It was a lovely touch when the wedding party was leaving & he threw on his sunglasses like he was some celebrity. ?

I get the sense Durrick will use "Omg I'm a big boy in law skool I have to study and break my back look at me" at every opportunity. Good ammunition for his martyr complex.

* I'm a real life lawyer. I can talk smack on us.

Meh- while I think he probably does have to study (you know the year 1 law school grind better than I do), I think the people at the wedding are having a better time without him there!

So if the cold waffles and cereal are legit, that is worse than not serving anything IMO.

Interesting that Derelict wasn't there, I don't know what to read into this, these two are very odd.

Love the bridesmaids dress. Gorgeous.

Hate the thought of cold waffles. Gag.

Love that there was a prank - what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Hate that Josh-the-douche (Jouche?) was in the bridal party.

You're right - it is the bridesmaid's dress from Zach and Whitney Bates' vow renewal:

ETA: I don't love that sleeve length, but otherwise it's a beautiful dress!

I love the breakfast buffet idea, but their execution sounds gross.
Josh as a groomsman is an unpleasant surprise.
Dress is ok, but nothing special.
I don't really like her hair.
Derick isn't banned. If Josh isn't banned, nobody is. Derick probably really had something to do in school.

Overall: disappointing. Expected better from John and Abby for some reason.

Hmmmm, I don’t see the problem with cold waffles or a cold breakfast buffet made up with ordinary breakfast stuff. Sure cereals aren’t fancy but I think they are similar to those cupcake/ice cream topping bars when there are enough different cereals provided. I would have expected something more like the pic someone posted but thinking about it it’s definitely not too bad. May I ask: Why the hate for cold waffles? If you use a good recipe they taste great warm and cold, same goes for pancakes (but what we call pancake is definitely a different dough than American pancakes).

I also don’t believe that Derick wasn’t there. He is JD’s brother in law. Would you really invite your sister and tell her to leave her husband at home? He might have been told to stuck in the background and be as invisible as possible. TLC will definitely not show him but I am sure we will see him in some instagram pictures.

She dropped out as it was mandatory that she did her training in hospital to assist in wards that housed women who had terminations and assist with terminations (for whatever reasons). It went against her religious beliefs. I always wondered if this kind of thing was a contributing factor as to why Jill didn't couldn't go further.

On a side note, I escorted a women for a termination at a hospital, she got all the way up to the room and the anesthetist pulled the pin on the surgery due to religious grounds. I was disgusted. He/she should have seen that on their docket earlier and made arrangements to have some one else do it. This girl then had to be wheeled back and wait again. Sad as it was she was slightly developmental delayed and or see med confident and or unconcerned with her choice, so I was enraged for her and she was unconcerned (thank rufus). If that had of been the second girl I  took out we both would have been howling messes...

That made think that anesthetist has obviously got a lot more clout to pull that than a RN.

In Sweden medical personnel can not opt out and claim religious grounds. There is a case now where a religious midwife that refuses to do abortions, administer the morning after pill or assist in putting in IUD’s are trying to sue since she didn’t get a job because of that. She is backed by christian lobbyists from other countries and they are bringing it up to the European Court to try to change the laws in Sweden.

Since it’s not actually a human right to be a midwife I really, really hope they lose.

I am sure they stand no chance. It would be ridiculous enough if the suit gets accepted. I want to believe that Europe doesn’t give in to religious nut jobs.

I think people have a right to be every bit as religious as they want to be, but then you need to choose your profession or your employer accordingly. If you like the medical field but don’t want to assist with abortions, maybe don’t work at an OBGyn. Maybe become a dental assistant/dentist/chiropractor/physiotherapist instead. Or work at a Catholic school as a school nurse. Problem solved. You can’t expect a public institution to make an individual shift plan to suit every nurse not wanting to work on a particular floor or unit.
