I guess that Becky no longer has independent opinions. Marlin's are hers.

I agree. But what’s funny is that if you asked Chelsy, I bet she would say she and John don’t have all the exact same opinions.

She's probably the only one. Allison is a bot.

She is. It’s sad to watch. She tries to hard to be the perfect submissive trad wife.

I imagine her Beachy and other conservative Anabaptist relatives and friends would respond to that by asking her why she doesn't follow the "Word of God' regarding head covering in 1 Corinthians 11: 2-16.

I think Allison throws herself into being a submissive wife because that’s the only way to assure herself that her marriage is a success. She doesn’t love him. So being a “perfect” submissive wife is her consolation. If she doesn’t love him; at least God will love her marriage. I think chelsy does love John and that creates a whole different dynamic.

So you want your daughter to learn from a very young age that looks matter because you are a woman. She’s not even 2! Such a tradwife in the making 🙄

It's just so fundamentally not what toddlers are like. I spent almost the entire drive to my 3 year old son's gymnastics class this week explaining to him why it was important to wear underwear at gymnastics. He'd somehow avoided putting on undies after an accident at school and was just wearing shorts commando. I was trying to explain how undies keep his genitals from getting pinched by his shorts when he's tumbling around. He just didn't think it was needed.

He has no shame about his body. He uses the gender neutral term "that one" when referring to a kid at the playground. What a small box they are creating for this little human to stay inside.

The word “lady” mini triggers me in regards to kids because I was never lady like. My mom would say “that’s not ladylike” or “sit like a lady.” I was loud, obnoxious, loved crude humor, and was rough and tumble. If I had been a boy, I doubt my behavior would have been a big deal.

This is what happens when Fundy Christians REALLY want to be into Chakras and Feng Shui, but can't be, cause paganism and whatnot.

Dead accurate. I did a quick google on Alison Helena and she is Orthodox Christian—not necessarily fundy but likely insufferable. The kicker is that she claims to have been immersed in “New Age” beliefs and Indian spirituality prior to her conversion to Orthodoxy.

It’s impossible to pin down her beliefs on her own website because every little corner is monetized. But she is on a podcast here and there if someone wants to take one for the team…

This. The five and under crowd do not remotely care unless they have been taught to have body shame or to shame someone else. As far as my 4 year old is concerned, there is no difference between genitals and toes. Why should anyone be embarrassed about getting changed at swimming?

Lololol my toddler didn't get the memo. She's always in her pull ups (around the house), doesn't like pigtails or anything really hahaha and I let her be because she's absolutely perfect just the way she is and I don't give an F* about being lady like :)

Oh my stars, that is a skirt extender on a toddler, right?

Somewhere out there is a company making skirt extenders desperately hoping that the extended Helferich clan continues to procreate at a pronounced pace.

I genuinely hope it was just made that way. Because a skirt extender on a one year old is beyond absurd.

Oh those denim skirts are sold with the lace attached.  Tons of styles.  This is much better than the ones that have tulle on the bottom- that gets caught on everything and collects ALL the stuff at preschool!  lol

I just realized, none of the Bontragers had babies last year, at least that we know of. That's the first time since 2018. We might be in for a few this year.

I think Susannah and Taylor will probably have a baby in 2024. And Allison. Those are the two Bonts I think have the best chance.

Denver and Praise are coming up on 3 years married this month. After three years of trying to conceive, chance of pregnancy each month is 1-3%. Now, I think you could give 6-12 months of just figuring things out after marriage and not worrying about timing sex. I imagine after the first year of marriage passed without a pregnancy, they probably started really trying.

I hope they are at peace with their situation. They seemed to really be into each other in a way Allison and Jeremiah weren't.

The Bontragers are into the wok and don’t seem to be into modern medicine. Let’s hope Denver and Praise have seen some specialists. To at least do some testing.

I think most of the married couples will have babies this year. They seem to be on an every other year cycle, with Cassidy and Carolina in particular always being pregnant at the same time.

And yes, at this point, Denver and Praise are either quietly preventing or, more likely, dealing with infertility. I hope they’re okay with it. Both of these families place such a high value on constant reproduction.

Yeah, people tend to forget that a lot of things that can affect fertility negatively are also just health things you want to know about and deal with. A lot of people don't find out they have a pituitary tumor or endo or a thyroid condition or autoimmune disorder or PCOS or endocrine disorder until they can't conceive. It was honestly a bit of a relief when doctors started taking my symptoms seriously because they were contributing to infertility and not *just* diminishing my quality of life prior to TTC.

In the spirit of #jesusfirstrelationship and #jesuslovesthemall, I learned recently that a friend's catholic church, named Holy Infant, uses the hashtag #livejesushicc which makes me think of either a drunk Jesus, or live sushi.

I am enraged on your behalf that it took TTC to get actual care.

Medical professionals: Please take women seriously even before they might struggle to carry a baby for a man…!!

I got a diagnosis in the last 2 years for a menstrual disorder. Almost aged 40. For something I have suffered for since my teens. In retrospect the knowledge that I couldn’t just suck it up or pop an over the counter pain relief is nice, but it was 25+ years of monthly misery aside from my pregnancies. Something I mentioned more than once in that time.
