  • FOCUSING ON THE FLAWS OF FUNDAMENTALISM SINCE 2005

"Childbearing. Child rearing. Gender equality. Religion. Race. Regionalism. A woman's right to her body. Money/welfare. My god, everything my mama and Miss Manners ever said NOT to talk about among strangers!!"

Free Jinger is a free speech zone.  We do not allow hate speech and we limit direct discussion of children. If you don't like what someone is saying, challenge them. Logic and reason are prized here, as well as thoughtful debate. Be prepared to don your asbestos underoos, though.

If you are not okay with these topics, just leave. They are the point of this board.

Or, as one of our members said: "What is discussed in this forum is Supreme Court stuff--literally--...the venting might be ranting. No grammar police, no fully enforced punctuation rules, but please don't wade in if things religious and reproductive will harm your psyche, because this should be a safe place to marvel at the massive political and social movements about to overtake our nation. And recipes."

    You have been warned. Welcome!

The range isn't as much as it is when it's warmer out, about 180 miles when full during the winter compared to about 260 or more in the warmer parts of the year.  Charging can take a while longer too.  But due to the extra weight of the battery the Bolt has a lower center of gravity and handles pretty well in the snow.  I try not to tempt fate too much going out in bad weather but if I do have to go somewhere as long as I take it easy I can be reasonably assured of getting there.

How does your car do in the cold and snow?  Our daughter just joined the ranks of electric vehicle owners, and she mentioned something about slower charging times when it’s very cold.  I love your snow photos.  Safe travels!  We just got a dusting here south of Seattle.

Yeah they were saying 18 to 22 inches yesterday and now it looks more like 10 to 16 inches now.  Iowa is going to be having an ice storm in the meantime.  I'm going back to Iowa this weekend.  Originally, I was going to leave tomorrow afternoon but decided to wait until Friday and leave early to head back down.

We are supposed to get some snow today but forecasters have no idea how much. Apparently, conditions are even more chaotic than usual along the Front Range. However, they are sure it isn't going to get above freezing today, so I forecast that we are going to have a very unhappy Boston Terrier today.

We are north of Chicago, near the Wisconsin border and remember the warnings that were issued for high winds and possible loss of power here.   Wasn't as bad as predicted but looking at the radar progression, looked it weakened somewhat by the time it got to us.    Though a storm chaser in the Rockford to the west area took video and it looked pretty intense there.
