Lori Alexander 30: Bad Speller, Worse Teacher, the Worst Mentor

@TeddyBonkers and @feministxtian, I am also a fan of the uniform shop.  I will say I love our new utility uniforms because they aren't supposed to be ironed.  It's awesome.  My dress uniforms go to the shop to get pressed, unless it's just touching up the creases on my pants or sleeves.

Back in the days of BDUs and black boots, my ex would press the uniforms AND polish the boots up good.  He actually enjoyed it.  We had some fun trying to press my maternity uniforms (not supposed to starch them, but needed them to look good for a board).

Hubs never shined his boots to the best of my recollection...they were knarly...scuffed, scratched, beat all to shit. But, then again, he was an HT and was forever getting into shit (sometimes literally).

You guys are bringing back memories. My husband’s been retired from the Army since 2006 but he was in for 27 years and I remember too well getting up at 5am when we were dating and ironing those solid green BDUs while he polished his boots. When the camoflauge BDUs came out I was thrilled...but he didn’t like them too blousy and wrinkled looking, so I still ironed, just not as neatly. After a few more years we wised up and just took them to the cleaners.

In fact, 9/11 and ironing his BDUs are forever linked in my mind. He had just returned from an FTX (field training exercise) late Sunday night. His muddy and sweaty BDUs were still in a pile to be taken to the cleaners that Tuesday morning when things started to happen in NY and DC. He called from work and asked me to wash his BDUs. Misunderstanding him, I said I would take them to the cleaners that morning. No, he meant to wash and iron them at home. He would be gone by 4pm that day (not yet sure where). I ironed those damn uniforms with tears streaming down my face as I watched the craziness of the day on TV. He wasn’t home more than a few weeks at a time from then until he retired five years later.

What would Lazy Lori had done?  Frickin fallen apart.

I swear she gets some sort of crack hit or orgasm off every deleted comment. She is deleting herself now too. She deleted her response to this. Cheryl is still up but I am not seeing Lori's response on my phone or laptop.

Also someone asked her this and she replied and now both are gone. She said something like I would remain pure and in mind and body. A very canned answer.

Damn, now anyone who has premarital sex is being compared to Hugh Hefner! Because of course everyone is have sex without a 1000 people before marriage.

Quote

Daily I receive many lewd and cruel comments from those who have hardened hearts and hate the Lord and His ways. I have been reading through the book of Mark and have noticed that Jesus spoke about people who witnessed Him raise people from the dead and heal others from diseases yet continue to have hardened hearts. Even in Revelation during the Tribulation when horrible things are happening on earth, angels are sent to preach the gospel yet the people keep hardening their hearts.

Is she now comparing herself to Jesus and Angels?

She then goes on to talk about her viral post again.

Quote

But truth never comes back void for those whose hearts soften as some women in the chat room* shared yesterday. Some found me when my post went viral in the past. Molly wrote: “Shamefully, I was a woman who once scoffed at the idea of submission and had no idea why it was written in the Bible. I just ignored that part.  The only thing that made me willing to listen was Lori. I don’t know why I kept reading her blog even when I disagreed (not that I wrote that on her blog!). When she wrote that we are to have soft, teachable hearts, some hardness inside me broke. She drew me to Christ and to my role as a wife when I used to be so angry and driven to succeed in worldly terms. I was hell on wheels to those around me at times.”

LORI, not Jesus or God softened her heart!!

OH and in case you forgot the chatroom is a special, elite club of only women who have soft hearts of perfect women who always get it right. No hard hearts allowed.

We're not like that? That might explain why searching my home hasn't turned up any random hotties! Never mind that I'd have called the police on any strangers rocking up in my home, hot or not. Contrary to what Lori thinks, I am weird about that: Atheist me is very much opposed to breaking my marriage vows, and even more opposed to random hotties invading my home. And who's to say if they find me attractive? We could all be sitting around playing a game of Bridge, until the police arrives, and then I'd have to clean the floors. Even with Hugh Hefner's finances to pay for a cleaner, it doesn't sound appealing.

This post hits on so many of her THINGS. 1) her “viral” post 2) tearing down others 3) praising herself 4) excluding others via the chat room 5) control freakness by requiring a moderator look at your Facebook page... this list goes on and on. The only way this post could get any more Lori-fied would be if a raging, unsubmissive, public schooled, processed-food-eating woman who had anal sex commented and quoted Scripture to Lori, and then a new post about it was made tomorrow. :pow:

“First get at least a high school diploma, then get a job, then get married, and only then have children. Wang and Wilcox, focusing on millennials ages 28 to 34, the oldest members of the nation’s largest generation, have found that only 3 percent who follow this sequence are poor.”

Lori quotes this in the post. Maybe I'm crazy, but when I look at that statistic, my immediate question is where did the people who followed that sequence start? How many of them grew up in poverty? How many of them were from upper middle to upper class families in the first place thus able to afford education, avoid crippling student loan debt, etc...on their way to following this allegedly perfect sequence?

Something tells me that the answer is few or none grew up in poverty and the majority grew up with some degree of economic privilege. Stats are clearly showing that people with more financial stability and more education are more likely to marry*. So maybe instead of cursing people for not following this allegedly perfect sequence, we should start doing something about income inequality.

@AlwaysDiscerning is "She is deleting herself now" as funny to you (anybody) as it is to me?

That is the best way to start my day - imagining Lori getting so hot under the collar she deletes all her own comments by mistake (or not?).

I really think "Deleting Myself Straight to Heaven" might be a good post count title.

She's been deleting so much. At least one of her posts look like there are no comments which means she's even deleting the ones that support her and her own replies. Just what is going on with her? I wonder if all the stress of going viral again has been too much for her. Maybe it would be best if she took a break to recover.

Wasn't she asking for help in monitoring her comments recently?  Maybe her helpers are not-so-accidentally deleting her comments.

Remember awhile back she had asked for help with the comments and then got pissy when some of them didn't do it right?  Payback maybe?

As of 8:23 a.m. PDT, Lori's fb has 30,282 likes and 30,713 followers. That's a gain of 1,878 in September, approx. 63 a day.

I wonder how many she has blocked? Tens of thousands? After all, she blocked sweet Jilly for no apparent reason. She probably spends as much time blocking as she does deleting.

Someone on FJ correct me if I'm wrong, but last I read, Joanna Gaines is merely giving up the HGTV show -- not all the other businesses she and the hubby run. From Washington Post Sept 27:

Quote

"The couple owns and operates Magnolia Homes, a construction, remodeling and design business. Their base in Waco is called Magnolia Market at the Silos, a retail compound that reportedly draws 40,000 visitors weekly. Their other ventures include a quarterly magazine; vacation rentals; furniture, paint, rugs and wallpaper lines that can be found in major outlets.

Earlier this month, Target announced that it will launch “Hearth & Hand with Magnolia,” a home and lifestyle brand designed in partnership with the Gaineses. That’s only some of the many things demanding their time. The couple has also published a bestseller, “The Magnolia Story.” Another book is due out next month: “Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff.”

She's not planning to fade into obscurity as a SAHM. she'll still have her career(s).  I guess Lori will be happy though because if JG isn't on TV Lori won't have to be sad thinking of the children.

Lori is the type of person to only feel worthy and confident by bringing others down and by hurting others. Which tells us a lot about her. It is sad. She must feel very, very lonely, insecure and scared inside.

She says that she's standing against false doctrine but didn't she make a post last month or so about not always being right? Soooo who determines that for her? Ken? But it appears she doesn't always submit to him about her blog. Me thinks she doesn't support her own words. If she was really always learning, she'd do what must students are required to do, engage with the material/comments.

Lori, different opinions are not doctrine, false or otherwise. I want to ask her why she allows comments at all, just proclaim the truth of God's/Lori's word and be done with it. I'll never ask her shyte though.

@Red Hair, Black Dress Exactly about Joanna. They are huge. As if she is just going to drift away.  How does Lori even know Heffner died, I thought the didn't watch the news?

On other subject, it seems as though Lori's DIL Erin might actually send her kids to some type of school, daycare or camp. Her kids are quite young, and this was written in summer, so I don't think she meant real school. yet if she were homeschooling, she'd say, "We aren't doing school today", wouldn't she?

Quote

It's Monday morning and the littles are up and we don't have school today and that makes it an awesome Monday! The possibilities are endless! Really savoring the summer days here.  In addition to awesome Mondays, I'm really loving this custom bridal cuff set! Druzy, Herkimer quartz, and rose gold

She is just so proud that none of her fangirls described love as an emotion or feeling! That was probably a test. Had you said something else you probably would have got the boot.  There is also picture on IG of her fancy china she is whipping out for a dinner tonight. Again, her privilege is showing.  Showing off all these worldly treasures, when we should be storing them for heaven.

Some Duggar-like woman boasted about saving her first kiss for her wedding day. I don't get it. It doesn't make one more holy.  Nowhere did the Lord say, "Thou shalt not kiss before marriage".

I get waiting on sex, and I think sometimes people are too quick to quick to sleep with someone. I see how that can cause problems like STDs or unwanted pregnancy, but kissing?  I wouldn't have married someone who had never kissed me or showed any affection.

Lori wouldn't know love if it bit her in the ass. Unconditional love was once defined this way..."wanting the absolute best of everything for someone else without thinking of yourself". Nothing she does is, in any way, for someone else. It's all to make herself look good.

She'd never survive as a military wife. Heck, a 24 hour duty rotation would send her into a tizzy. A 7 month Med cruise? It'd be the freakin' end of the world for her...having to quick iron uniforms? Nope! Dealing with pay problems? Well, she'd never survive on an E-6 pay even with allowances. Living in shitty base housing? Not happening in Lori's world.

I despise that woman with every fiber of my being.

@feministxtian, whenever Lori talks about "well I lived in a trailer" as proof that she could live frugally (HA!!!!), I remember back when Mr. Bonkers and I got married and lived in the absolute WORST apartment building in Fayettenam. (That's Fayetteville, North Carolina, right outside of Fort Bragg.) We were both enlisted at the time, but that's where we lived.

Of course, it's on the blacklist now, because of the murders...:pb_eek:. Lori would have been running back to daddy so fast.

Lori wouldn't survive where I live now...the never-ending parties, drug use, people peeing up against walls, kids running around like little maniacs until 11pm (I mean little kids, 4, 5, 6 years old)...the drunk next door who blasts his stereo and yells, cusses and talks shit to his wife...
