Lori Alexander 30: Bad Speller, Worse Teacher, the Worst Mentor

My father always told me i could do anything I set my mind to -- and that included taking care of myself.

To that end he taught me all sorts of "masculine"  life skills  -- home repairs, gardening, how to use tools. car maintenance, budgeting and bookkeeping (single and double entry), how to balance a checkbook/reconcile a bank statement to the penny, how to throw overhand, how to do math in my head, etc. etc, etc. -- all kinds of things he figured I'd need as an adult.

He used to say (and I quote) "Your old daddy isn't always going to be here to take care of you."  Then he'd grin.  He knew i was going to be perfectly capable of taking care of myself.  Because he taught me how.

Those times with him teaching me all that and doing things together -- some of my most treasured memories.

I've probably said it before, but it bears repeating: for all their "Support the Troops!" that they say, these fundie women couldn't last a day as military wives. We protect OURSELVES when our husbands are gone for months at a time. Gender roles go right the fuck out the window when we have to do "men's work" like mow the yard.

And horror of horrors, we actually meet people from different cultures!! We don't live our lives in an insulated bubble in SoCal. We volunteer outside of the house, and have JOBS, and make friends fast because you never know how long you're going to live in one place.

(Sorry, this kinda turned into something else. We're moving soon and I needed to let out thoughts. :)) But still, Lori Alexander is a monster and a pogue.

Preach it, sistah!  I think that that is most basic issue I have with Lazy Lori. Well, that, plus she’s lived a charmed life when I’ve never met anyone less deserving of it.

I was thinking just yesterday, isn’t she lucky that the Bible reads as it does? That the men who wrote it felt as they did? What if they instead said that women should protect and provide for their families, that women were the stronger, wiser sex?  Lazy Lying Lori would be screwed. She’d have to work. She’d have to know to pack something other than face cream when a fire was bearing down on her house. She’d actually have the responsibilities of being in control, as opposed to just the bossy part that she pretends she doesn’t have now.

Readers are giving her what for the doodle about twisting Scripture.  There is a long series of posts/ exchange that needs to be captured before Her Lori-ness gets an itchy delete finger

I wish my parents had taught us girls hardcore budgeting. It literally was never brought up except for "tithe first" because "the men handle the money." Mr. EW & I have just switched to weekly pay/budget but monthly bills and it's a headache. I spent half last night studying budgeting online. I feel so stupid. :(

Budgeting can be a massive headache. Maybe try a separate bank account strictly for house bills & use the other for the weekly expenses: fuel, food, incidentals. Those monthly bills that all have different due dates can be paid as they come up & the funds are there week to week.

*squishes* it does get easier, I promise.

I can see now why Lori is not zapping FB comments as quickly as she usually does. I've turned on notifications to all her posts from the past few days, and comments are coming so thick and fast I can't keep up with them myself. Add to that all those new comments on her ZOMG MY POST THAT WENT VIRAL!, and I'll be surprised if Lori hasn't had a complete emotional meltdown this afternoon! :pb_eek: :pb_lol:

Thank you. I hope so.

I was a military wife too...yeah, like what's hubby going to do when he's out on some ship in the middle of the Med? What about when he's pulling the 24+ hour duty? Yeah, guess what...he ain't gonna come running. Car repairs, lawn mowing, buying appliances, paying bills, trying to straighten out pay problems (always a given the first paycheck of a deployment)...military spouses are real badasses (not just saying it cuz I was one). Lori wouldn't last a week.

I did all that shit and worked/went to school full time. I earned my badass medal!!!

Fuck Lori...

Might someone explain to me why I’ve caught up on this thread, please?  This horrible woman is the main reason I keep taking breaks from FJ.  I’ve kept my promise to myself to never go back to her FB page or her blog. So, why am I reading here?  Makes no sense.  She really is deplorable.

I have done this before but a HUGE shoutout to military wives...I had a PT conference last week with a mama riding out her husband's fifth deployment...You all hold it together, parent for both and I love assisting your children as their teacher. And I hate Lori.

@TeddyBonkers, I hear you.  Preparing for PCS myself here, but at least going to a place I'm excited about!

Lori couldn't hack the military wife life, but Ken couldn't deal with uniforms either, I don't think.  That's why he has to play sports!

Why are they so obsessed with power? As in a wife/ woman can't be seeking to be equal with their husbands/ men, they have to be more powerful than or more wise  etc. Women shouldn't have anything to prove but we're always being asked to prove ourselves. Are you smart enough to be in science; are you strong enough for military service; logical enough to be a leader. For years women had to struggle to prove that they are. Maybe it's important to be able to speak in church because for years things get ignored, like domestic abuse. God's ways tell us that Christianity has nothing to do with power because the first shall be last and the last shall be first. Clearly Lori's ways are not God's ways because the God of the Bible would never delete suicide hotline numbers and people who are seeking to learn about Christ.

Again, she is awfully presumptuous to suggest that SHE knows what God is calling other people to do.  I'm not positive, but I thought there was something in the bible about God talking to people individually, not treating humans like a herd of cattle.

Shhh, don't tell anyone, but Mr. Bonkers irons his own uniforms. I am a superbad, unsubmissive wife! :pb_lol: If it ain't fabric for a quilt, I don't iron it.

I took a break from her as well but I'm back. Partly because it's a train wreck - I just have to look.

But mostly because I know that evil like Lori never rests. And that the good people of FJ are here, speaking out against her, and I want to be that One More Voice that might turn the tide against her and her evil agenda.

I might go away if she would just say something like, "Staying at home is the ideal and something that we should all strive for. But yes, there are circumstances when the woman must work. And sometimes you can't win back your husband. Continue to strive for the ideal and know that God is always there for you, no matter what."

Although I don't agree that being a SAHM is the ideal way with God, a statement like this one would at least show that she acknowledges some of the issues that she chooses to ignore, and thus does a grave disservice to women - and their husbands and families - who cannot, for whatever reason, live Lori's Perfect Life.

On IG she says this about her granddaughter:

Quote

she wasn't with me when she got sick. Her parents took her home yesterday morning and she got sick soon afterwards. I think she's too young to be able to tell us she was nauseous.

LOL, the girl got sick with Lori. She is playing "it wasn't me". Just because the girl can't say she feels sick doesn't mean she DIDN'T get sick under Lori's care.

Her post today cover the Doug Wilson article.

Quote

Many women don’t believe they need men in their lives anymore and can do it on their own but sadly, they find out quickly that it’s not that easy.

Its NOT easy with men either. Life is difficult no matter what. Like some here were saying about military wives and what I was saying that a lot of men are at work 12 hours a day. Just having a penis in your house doesn't guarantee its going to be easier. It depends on the type of man he is and his work schedule.

Here we go again...

Quote

Yes, I asked Ken to help me learn to respect him, not argue with him anymore, and submit to his leadership. I not only didn’t hide this, I wrote a book about it (that all those who hate truth and God’s ways love to speak evil about and slander me but it’s to be expected so I rejoice!).

Dang it! I can't figure out how to quote the quote from @AlwaysDiscerning -post, but, well, I gotta say the last one where she 'asked Ken to teach her to respect him and submit to his leadership'   Doesn't that just really lead itself to some good spanking porn?  Or is it just me?  What? Sigh....sorry....

I wonder why she randomly posted that "this is us" post on fb last night. Doesn't follow her usual posting schedule and its an old post.
