Look at Kressant making everything about Jesus.

This person probably didn’t want these creepers around her and her stuff. I would have declined too.

I’d bet the woman guessed the ride wouldn’t be free. I’d rather carry a bunch of stuff unaided than give one of these nuts a chance to preach at me for the duration of the trip as well as possibly give them an ‘in’ to peddle their poison to the rest of my household.

Indigenous women in South America commonly carry loads of produce like that. And the indigenous people of the Paraguayan Chaco have good reason not to trust westerners: https://www.survivalinternational.org/tribes/ayoreo

Omg-this says it all:

”Their first sustained contact with white people came in the 1940s and 1950s, when Mennonite farmers established colonies on their land.

The Ayoreo resisted this invasion, and there were killings on both sides.

In 1979 and 1986 the American fundamentalist New Tribes Mission helped organize ‘manhunts’ in which large groups of Totobiegosode were forcibly brought out of the forest”

When will people finally see missionaries for what they are. They destroy cultures and more.

NINETEEN 79 and 86??

Not SEVENTEEN or EIGHTEEN???

I am completely, utterly, totally speechless right now!!

I’m sure they killed a lot with disease too.

I was going to say, that old lady was probably thinking "no way am I trusting these weird gringos." Too many bad things happen to indigenous women being offered "favors" from white people.

I wouldn’t take a ride from total strangers either. Did these idiots not pay attention in elementary school ? If a girl or woman to get into a vehicle with a group, she signs her own death warrant. This is exactly how females go missing, end up in the river or the landfill. No kidding the woman said “no”.

As well they should. It’s insane to me that these men don’t get more public scrutiny for the shit they do.

I try to keep an eye on the OSA crew and other anti-abortion zealots on social media. I think there's a real chance that we will see violent terrorism from these parts in the near future (some of them were involved in clinic attacks in the 90s, or have stated support for those attacks). Just angry, angry men with huge egos and a whole lot of guns. They're spitting mad that they got what they wanted and then voters had the audacity to fight back. Thankful for the clinic defenders and other activists who track and expose them.

This isn’t surprising. Places like this have high failure rates.

Tayte and Martha had a non-juried, pre-trial hearing on Aprill 11 in Colquitt County court for an unspecified matter. Presumably, a divorce or custody issue, based on the observations of other folks here.

I've been off of this board for a year, and am still playing catch up with a few threads. I'm not remotely surprised about Martha, other than the fact it took 10 years to come to a head. Frankly, I suspect that she won't be the only Morton clocking a divorce in the years to come. Tayte and Martha were an awkward pairing at best. I don't think it was arranged in the same sense as some of the S'Morton unions seemed to be, but Martha was in such a weird place in the family timeline. Age-wise, she was in the unfortunate position of being born between the oldest Morton sibs who had VERY early marriages in the thick of their fundy connections (except Addie), and the younger sibs who seemed to have far more choice, and enjoyed the illusion of secular entertainment/socialization outside of the home church. She didn't have an obvious partner waiting for her (presumably, none of the Campana boys were interested), and she apparently wasn't allowed to drift around the estate as an adjunct babysitter/dog breeder/entrepreneur like Addie was before her marriage (also to a much younger man).

I suspect Martha will end up married off again, probably to a significantly older man. Especially if the elder Mortons make their move to Paraguay permanent.

I agree there will be another Morton divorce in the next few years. I think it will probably be one of the younger boys. Just don’t know who.

I meant to put this in a couple of weeks ago but I dreamt about the Mortons and in it Kress was talking about her parents and said "Why do you think we moved to Paraguay.... to get away from them!" I woke up soon after and decided that was probably pretty accurate.  They moved before Katie's divorce but I wouldn't be surprised if Kress and Rachel had been very happy to leave them and Alan behind.

This sounds like Rachel had her baby. Or am I reading it wrong?

That baby looks huge to be a newborn. But my newborn also currently wears preemie and only weights 6 pounds even tho was born at 38 weeks

Does anyone know why the Roberts family has a daughter named Marty and another daughter named Martha?

Some fundie families reuse names. They also have a son named Edgar Ashburn. And then have a younger son named Ashburn. Chris Maxwell reused a name on his daughters. His older daughter is Ruthann Elizabeth and his younger daughter is Elizabeth Grace. The Campanas did this as well. They have a son Nicholas Frank and then another son named Frankie. They also have multiple daughters with a version of Mary in their name. They have Mariah, Gabriella Mary, and Gracia Marie. I think fundies run out of ideas and just reuse names they like.

Now now, don't do Chris and NR Anna dirty like that. They pray for weeks and schedule a 30 min block to deeply discuss those names! If they reuse a name, it's because God wanted them too 😛
