Duggars By the Dozen - General Discussion - Part 7

The point is these kids are not ready for a full sexual relationship because their parents have taught them sex is naughty and to be ashamed of their bodies and to hide them. If they are lucky they may gradually evolve out of this but I doubt it. They will pretend and fake it. Just like Smuggar and SmuggaAnna probably do. I think 3 very young kids are wearing on them......and I predict they will use birth control soon.

I think Smuggar may realize that his father does not know best. Let's hope.

Part of me wonders how they fake it --- how much do those "before the wedding night" books explain about orgasms or what they feel like? They haven't seen porn or any erotica so what is their reference material? What if they just make loud noises at random? :ew:

They may grow out of it or be truly okay with it after marriage -- Jim Bob certainly set the example for what isn't modesty at the mini golf date.

I just deflowered a 23 yr old man. Talk about hormones and abstinence, jeez. All I can say is that I find it unlikely that the J'boyz have never wanked off. Ever. Surely they don't have accountability partners in the shower....

As a young girl, I discovered my clitoris in a harmless way. I made a swing in the giant pine tree next to my house out of a flimsy wood board and a rope. I loved swinging in it. It literally made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside ;) (I called that tree Grandfather God, now that I remember. Grandfather because it was old and wise, and God because I felt like I could touch heaven in the topmost branches. Oh to be a kid again)

Me too. I remember having orgasms, despite having no clue what an orgasm or sex was, in 4th grade by climbing up the poles on the school playground. Man, did I look forward to recess every day!

Yeeeeppppppp. I used to climb poles all the time and it was so fun and it wasn't until my teenage years that I quite realized...why.

For some reason if I think about fundy sex (and I really really try not to) I picture it as something almost entirely silent except maybe the sound of breathing. They probably don't even take their clothes off fully.

I'm sure if they're not already using it Josh at least looks like he's thinking about it. I wonder how against it Anna would be at this point? Maybe he'd start making her a "special smoothie" with a crushed pill in it every morning? They both look pretty worn out & Josh looked like he was happy with 2 before they even had Marcus. I wonder how he actually feels about a whole fuck tonne of kids being that he's the oldest of 19?

He could get a secret vasectomy and try to "work" a lot until it healed. Be all, "I dunno why you aren't getting pregnant babe, lets keep trying" afterwards. And then he can always have reversal babies later.

When they first got engaged (or maybe this was when she announced she was pregnant with Mack) JB very inappropriately asked how many kids they would have. Josh said he would be happy with two or three while Anna said "as many as possible". She didn't say "as many god blessed us with", she said "as many as possible". If anyone is going to be anti birth control in that relationship, it's her. Josh never wanted more than two or three and he's done having babies. But she isn't, even if she is exhausted.

SmuggAnna has no say in the matter. She has been trained to obey her husband.

Only to an extent. Using Above Rubies as reference, if the husband no longer wants children then that's on him and that's his sin, but he can not command her to do anything that is sinful. If he says no sex, then no sex. If he decides to get a vasectomy, then that's on him. But he can't force her to go on birth control. So really, all they can do is abstain while she prays for god to change his heart.

Hi from Vermont all!

I have been thinking ever since the ski trip episode that it would not surprise me if Anna consider or was already taking birth control. They both look exhausted and I get the feeling that he is really mean to her when the cameras are not around. I have gotten a creepy vibe From Josh since the early days of the Duggars.

I can definitely see this. Remember when J'chelle was in the hospital right before having Josie? Josh and Anna came over to help the girls take care of the kids. He made a very rude comment in the TH with a very creepy vibe to it. "I AM their big brother and I AM in charge" A huge asshole. I showed that to a few people and they all thought the same thing. I re-watched that episode with my parents and my dad - who never yells at the tv - actually "told" Josh to shut up and stop being such a dick to the kids bc they weren't idiots. "Remember how mommy had a baby in her belly?" He talks down to all his siblings. I can definitely see him talking down and being a total dick to his wife. "I AM the man and I AM in charge. Now spread your legs" :disgust:

Just viewed the episode in 18 Kids where they brought Jordyn home from the hospital after she was born. How old is Jordyn, 5? Michelle looked so much healthier then, her voice was less squeaky and she seemed more in touch with the events surrounding her.

The kids were more innocent and the girls a lot less dolled up. People Magazine coming in for a photo shoot and dressing them all in coordinating new clothes was a novelty then.

Do they realize what's happened to their family?

She's 5 1/2 now if you can believe that. I remember that episode because Anna was there and they didn't want to include her in the photos, which was complete bullshit. They wanted a family shot with just their kids (which I can understand) but then never really bothered with her much. IIRC, that issue of the magazine didn't show any pictures of Anna, at least not with the whole family. I really hope when they start doing those photos again that they include all the spouses, even if there are no babies yet. I'll be interested to see their promo shot in a few years when they have a few more kids married and at least a half dozen or more additional grandchildren.

Of all the weird things I wonder about the Duggars the one thing that has been bugging me is the clothes. I know they share clothes but what happens when Jill leaves? Does she get to pick what she wants, how does that work I wonder.

Didn't they wait until Mack was born to include Anna in the opening? It's like oh, she doesn't matter until she has a kid.

I think the reason she was added then was because it switched from 18 to 19kac. I don't think it had to do with Mack, but with Josie.

While I'm sure they share in the same way lots of sisters share clothes, I don't think the closet is all that communal anymore. During the flea market Jinger found some clothes put up for sale that were hers, took them off the racks, and proceeded to check all the racks for any other clothes that belonged to her, looking really annoyed.

She means they didn't include her at all or seem to really recognize her until she had a baby. Which I'm thinking is correct. I don't think she was included in the lineup until she has Mack. Now I'm curious and I may have to check. I was looking up an episode between marriage and Mack anyway.

I think they may include the husbands of their daughters, though, before they have children, just because they've made such a huge show of the courtships and marriages.

And she is correct. Anna isn't even the line up. The funeral episode for Grandpa, which was after Josh and Anna were pregnant, doesn't mention her at all IIRC, J'chelle was pregnant with Jordyn when they got married, so the 17KAC wouldn't have her in the initial lineup, but 18KAC (which this episode is) should definitely include her. And it doesn't.

And in that episode where People was excluding Anna from the photos, Josh was saying rather loudly and pointedly, "She's in the family now!" And getting ignored. Anna was like, "Oh it's okay, I understand," with a forgiving smile. :x

The more I think about it the more I don't like it. Michelle says, Josh is our oldest; HE married Anna, and they have OUR FIRST GRANDCHILDREN Mackynzie, Michael and Marcus."

Why not say "Anna, OUR DAUGHTER IN LOVE"?

Yes this bugs me, Derrick's mom views Jill as the daughter she never had but you don't see the same from Michelle. It really is as if all that matters is the ones she gave birth to, that's why I question the adoption possibility they talk about.

Right but what I'm saying is that they didn't change the intro until Josie was born. I don't think it was a slam against Anna. I think it was a matter of convenience for TLC to do it all at once.

The changed the intro when Jordyn was born to include her. That means they had to re-record J'chelle saying it all. Anna was already married by the time Jordyn was born. They were still doing the same type of intro as before, but that doesn't mean they couldn't include Anna.
