Season 6 of 19 Kids and Counting. God help us all!

Few things I've noticed--

-The whole sit down with the older Duggar daughters irked me for some reason. The idea that if they like a guy and have to "hope and pray" that he will go to Boob and pray even more that Boob approves bothered me to the extreme.

-What the hell "Business talk" (as Michelle put it). I'm sorry but keeping your "courtship relationship" at a business level sounds messed up and there's no way that can work, even though these fundies have had "successful marriages." The whole point of being in a relationship is to get to know your potential spouse in a more personal level. I'm extremely close with my two best guy friends but that closeness and deep relationships we have is nothing compared to what I have with my boyfriend. I've learned more about him when we have personal and emotional talks than say if we were in a public setting. I want to be emotionally involved with someone and not like as if we're fucking coworkers.

-Michelle, Michelle, Michelle-your past relationships did NOT bring any baggage nor harm with your relationship to Boob. You're still married to him, right? Proof that dating other men or women before marriage does not bring heartache and pain in the future.

-No, JB, you are NOT responsible for finding a guy for your daughters. If that's what you believe, than you are admitting to being pro-arranged marriage.

Well, they haven't added Jubilee to the opening montage.

Yes, every young couple in the Duggars' sphere freely chooses courtship. No parental pressure at all. Especially when Michelle tells them all about the heartaches of dating

.

The Bates no longer do the courtship thing. Now, they are "dating with a purpose," per Kelly Jo on tonight's episode!

"I always think its fair to look for an excuse when you lose"

Words of wisdom from his royal smugliness.

I used to think he couldn't get any stupider.

Yes, look for an excuse:

You're lazy. You're out of shape. You eat grease and lard by the gallon.

These people know nothing of accountability and taking responsibility. It's pass the buck and "not my fault" blah blah blah.

How much of a difference is there between an arranged marriage versus allowing only your father to pick your suitors?

This entire episode was worth it for the close-ups of Not Amused Joy-Anna.

That girl could give McKayla Maroney a run for her money.

OMG, he is so GAY. the whole "I married my best friend" line. Both my husband and I screamed out 'ohmygodhesgay'. The entire nation just had their gaydar go off. His loafers are so light, he's walking on air.

That and the awesome smugly quotes - and pics of him taking instagram pics while holding a coke, wearing sunglasses, pretending to have a fucking clue...

I'm, watching now. Keep the most intimate, important, beautiful relationship of you life on a 'business level'? WTH?

I;m surprised the ids don't have to call JB&M Mr. and Mrs. Duggar.

They seem to be openly admitting that courtship is just to keep the hymen intact.

This wedding was quiet a while ago. Is she preggers yet? Darn, they didn't show David conducting the audience.

They have a blog. If she is pregnant, they haven't announced it yet.

"david loves priscilla". Her feelings are irrelevant.

My heart went to Mackynzie when she started crying, because she looked around like someone was going to hit her. That's child abuse, for a child to be crying out of fear of making a mess. Sure, one can teach their children not to make messes, but not out of fear like that.

I also loved Joy's faces through the entire J'slave sit down. Can't Boob buy her some clothes that fit her, even if they're used? She has a totally different build than her older sisters.

And yes, there is something just creepy about David. Maybe it's his upbringing, but really, he seems "off".

I loved Susanna's short and sleeveless dress in the rehearsal! You go girl!!

I thought that I saw Gothard briefly in the episode.

Plus, I think TLC really threw the Duggars under the bus with Michelle and Boob leaving Jana with 12 kids, Michelle's comments about courtship and dating, Smuggar's comments about losing, and the snippet with Mackynzie making a "mess" with the rose petals. I hope this is the last season.

Who the fuck makes a banner with their smiling faces and 'together' on it? That's just relationship porn. Real modest. David has some kind of ministry (cult) to sell.

I know fundies can't listen to music with a beat, but damn! Something tells me David would love some showtunes. He looks like a Liza Minnelli fan.

I just fiinished watching and came here to say that he seems gayer than Liberace at a Liza Minnelli show in 1972.

And this man-baby wants to be a politician? Good luck with that blatant excuse, dipshit.

David. Oh my word. Just . . . I honestly don't even know what to say. What is up with THAT? Priscilla, too, but David. Wow. Just . . . what.

And I'm sorry, Joy-Anna is my new hero. I'm very sorry for her that she seemed to miserable, but on the other hand, wow, she did not even try to hide it. She was obviously not thrilled about being there, not impressed by all of Jill's sermons, generally just not having any of it. God, I hope they don't completely brainwash her and crush her spirit. Joy's sighing, eye-rolling, slouching, and generally grumpiness was the best thing I've seen on this show for a long time.

The whole "being content with what Lord gives you" speech from Jill to Jinger really irked me. Who cares if Jinger wants to move into the city?! Is it that wrong for her wishing that happens? It's not like the poor girl is demanding that from the guy whom she ends up courting. She just simply stated that she'll be happy wherever she lives but would love it even more if it's in the city. I think Jill's shpeel to Jinger was her way of telling Jinger that the city is evil and filled with sinning nonChristians who drink, smoke, and party all the time so she should live far away from that and focus more on God, her husband, and popping out as many children as possible.

Did anyone else feel like the first half of the show was kind of an advertisement for Jana? "Here's our eldest daughter, Jana. Isn't she nice, and pretty? Here are all her fantastic qualities. Did we mention she loves children? Contact Jim Bob Duggar for more information..."
