Not the point, but I can't help focusing on how much shorter Michelle is.  That dress is hitting the ground on her.

There is another layer added on DQ...not that I wasted my time counting them...:kitty-wink:

also M's neckline seems altered too

You mean Devil Whore Shoes?  Never!!!  Honestly, though, that dress is a sight to behold.  It's like a fucked up Who Wore It Better?  Neither.  Neither wore it better.  Neither wore it well.  It was equally awful on both.

If heels are Devil Whore shoes, someone needs to buy Alyssa Bates Webster a 1 way ticket to the hot place.

Judging from the colors (Gil's Malibu blue tie) I am guessing that Kelly wore it at Alyssa's wedding.

Also judging from Joshley's tie, Michelle wore it at Jill's wedding.  IIRC Alyssa married about a month before Jill did.

I really think it was a shared dress, later altered by cinderjana after she finished the ties and bridesmaids dresses

If I recall correctly, she wears the Evil Satan Pants, too, right?

She wears jeans and tank tops.  But her heels are something else (and truthfully I envy her for being able to walk in those things). At her wedding, she had a pair of neon pink super high stilettos on.

And I'll reiterate on the envying her on it.  I tried on such a pair (I never had the intention of buying them, just wanted to put them on) in a store, and I was holding onto the shelves while trying to walk.

(I do wear heels from time to time, but 3 inches is the highest I'll go.  And no stilettos.)

I wonder what the 'before' pic of the dress looks like before alterations.  I'm also wondering if it came in more than 1 length.

Both have 6 ruffle rows so i think they're the same length. I wouldn't think the designer would make different lengths, it was a low priced dress as it is

It's like Sinful Heathen Clothing Bingo!

I love heels and wear them as often as practical.  In fact, aside from sneakers, I have exactly three pairs of flat shoes - 1 winter pair, 1 summer pair and a pair of flip flops.  I often joke that when I'm old and unable to walk, I'll be the lady in the wheelchair with the 4 inch stilettos.

If there are indeed two of these lovely creations, where did they come from? What store? What are the odds that two very strange dresses that are identical would be chosen by these two women both with 19 children.

I should worry about world peace instead.

I am a big fan of "wear what you want, while trying your best to be appropriate for the circumstance you are in".

Having said that, fundies always make me laugh when they go on and on about dressing modestly, then cake so much make up on their faces that would make a hooker blush!

THere is clearly something covering more of J-Chelle's top. And there is clearly an additional layer under the last ruffle on the bottom of j-chelle's dress. See that the lowest layer has no satin strip on the bottom?

I vote for shared dress, altered to cover more of J'Chelle.

Right after Jill's wedding, someone found the dress online. I'm not sure how you search to find that. Plus, it was reported that a modesty panel was added.

Whose wedding was first? Jill or Alyssa's?

Cause it seems easier to take off a ruffle than put on.

So it looks like Kelly added a slight modesty panel to it while Michelle attempted to make it into a turtleneck (for a southern wedding in June nonetheless).

And is Michelle really drinking from a styrofoam cup at a wedding?  Way to keep it classy Sierra.

Speaking from the "I have hella messed up feet" camp, I don't blame DQ or Kelly Jo for not wearing heels. However, they could have found some nice pumps that actually went with the dress. They didn't even try. Kelly's shoes look like the ones my Mom wears to garden. The ones you just wash off with the garden hose because they're plastic.

I cannot wear heels. I'm 7 weeks out from my bunion surgery. I can wear tennis shoes right now & that's it. I look like a total douche with my tennis shoes & dress pants. But it's all I can wear & it's not a walking boot!

Someday I will have pretty feet & I'll be able to wear pretty shoes. Considering I have another bunion surgery ahead of me, I might be able to wear two real shoes (at the same time) sometime next year. But it's worth it because the pain in my feet was unbearable.

Kelly's dress has one less layer of stuff than DQ's dress. The dress could have been pretty if they wore the right shoes & didn't hike it up to their chin.

I wonder how Jessa feels about Bin's wardrobe?  She grew up with boys wearing regulation polos and chinos, i.e. dad clothes, so she might find it very exciting to be with a guy wearing more expressive, youthful, modern clothing. I think he looks like a jackass but then what do I know?  I'm 58.  I also think they look a little strange together as she looks rather matronly but again that is nothing new for her.  In her youth the boys got to wear middle class normal stuff and the girls had to wear frumpers and go barefoot. Even today JB looks like every other suburban dad who shops at J C Penny and Michelle looks like....Michelle so it is not like Jessa has grown up in a world where the guys more or less dress on a similar level to their wives and daughters.

I wonder how Jessa will feel about the young women hanging with these rappers, should Bin get anywhere with his musical career. I'm not familiar with the genre, but I bet even Christian rapper chicks dress more NIKE than the Duggars are used to seeing.

I had to have bunions removed from both feet around 20 years ago. Not an easy time. And now they are growing back on one foot, ugh!

That has to be the name of something.  A new thread? or a rap group?

I have to be careful how I word this, as a few months back when this topic came up I sort of got blasted for 'slut-shaming' even when I really wasn't.  I made a comment that I couldn't believe the parents at my daughter's high school could/would allow their daughters out of the house dressed the way they were, and the dresses I saw on what were 14 year old girls at their formal last year were nowhere near age appropriate. In my opinion, 13 year old girls should NOT be doing provocative poses in string bikinis on the beach and posting the pics on Facebook.

Personally, I'm a jeans and t-shirt person. Shorts on me are at least finger tip length. If I wear a tank out in public in the summer, I put a really thin shirt over it (think Old Navy workout/yoga type)  I dress my daughters the same way in the sense there's NO short-shorts in their closets, which makes summer shopping for them really hard because it seems like that's all that's in the girls and juniors sections nowadays.  Shorts and skirts are fingertip and I often buy my 11 year old daughter the skirts with the shorts built in underneath. Both of them have one piece swimsuits or a tankini with the boy-short type bottoms. Not board shorts but the more square ones. My 15 year old likes layering tanks in the summer and in the winter she's usually got one on under a flannel shirt or zipper hoodie. Leggings can go under skirts and under shorts but aren't to be worn out of the house by themselves.  I'm not crazy nuts about necklines or showing off their shoulders, my only thing is no butts and no cooters hanging out. Just common decency.

I believe that picture was taken at the BBQ the Duggars throw at their house after a wedding for close friends, not the 3,000 people invited to the ceremony. Hence, the Styrofoam cup, because that is all the Duggars seem to use. Can't put that one on Sierra. Also, this was the party where the sewer backed up at their house! It was mentioned during Jessa's wedding planning.
