I'm curious as to what is keeping him hidden. It's Josh. He LOVES the spotlight and negative attention is still attention. Money? Anna? His parents? His guilty guilty conscious?

Maybe Moochelle and/or Anna is reenacting the imprisonment scenes in Misery with him?

After giving this more serious thought, I wonder if they really are keeping Josh under serious wraps until Counting On is renewed.  I suspect they think if he's spotted it will increase the gossip again and TLC might finally blow them off.  JB is an arrogant man and I suspect he took it personally that 19 Kids was cancelled.  All his precious children were no longer on TV and he was no longer making money off them.  What an oaf.

Keeping Josh out of the public eye makes sense.

According to the 'In Touch' I read in the checkout line Saturday, Josh is home in Arkansas selling used cars.  If true, seems easy enough for a local to get a photo.  Then again, if he's "working" like he used to (kicking back at his desk, flying model airplanes in the office, having Anna bring his lunch), we may never see him.

The first picture will likely be from a regular person who happened to see Josh out and about as mentioned by a precious poster. The tabloids won't chase him because it isn't financially beneficial to go to Arkansas on a hope and a dream of a $500 shot of Josh.

I think that if Josh ever actually comes back to the show, TLC will likely get media coverage it doesn't want. Do they really want groups out there protesting because TLC is making money creating situations where victims hang out with their molester? I just don't know how they could spin Josh being back on the show. A reformed Josh isn't going to make people change how they think of him. As it is, they already talk about him so much, if they bring him back on, the title might as well just be changed to Josh Counting On.

And who would even want to buy a car from this guy? Other than some delusional fans?

Is it common that people who have no education as a car mechanic or something similar sell cars in the US?

Cause around here, you either buy a used car directly from it's owner, or go to a professional dealer or a car service station which also sells used cars. No one in their right mind would buy a car from a guy who has a subpar SOTDRT education and no legit training and qualifications regarding cars.

Contributing to the famous people derailment

When I was like 10 I met Jack Hanna (that TV animal guy. He's actually insanely unfriendly in person. I was quite upset. Illusion = shattered haha).

At SDCC in 2009 I ran into Leonard Nimoy. Had the briefest of exchanges of "Hi oh my gosh you're amazing llap" with him before running away.

In 2013 I met "Weird Al" Yankovic twice.

In 2015 I met "Weird Al" Yankovic three more times and he remembered me the last time (even if he didn't outright recall my name). I also met a bunch of the cast members of Les Miserables on Broadway at the stage door and like five of them stopped to take selfies with me because my hair was dyed like a French flag at the time (purely on accident). Marius commented on it (and remembered me when I stagedoored a second time the next day) and Enjolras stood there and gushed at me about it for like five minutes. It was kinda great.

So far this year I met Ramin Karimloo and I've already got plans to meet "Weird Al" again as part of a concert ticket package.

Can I gush on Ramin a bit? Not only is he insanely attractive, but a seriously nice guy. I follow his Instagram and last year posted a lot of his Jean Valjean workouts. I was training for a half Ironman during the time and I thought if he could do two HIIT workouts and a show every day I can do the 70.3 too.

So I saw Les Mis a few days after completing the race and I had him sign my hat! We ended up chatting about working out as he signed autographs - he is a class act.

In my country it is usually different people who sell and who fix the cars. Perhaps if it was a small family business it would be the same people but not usually. Of course the person selling must know something about cars but not necessarily know how to pluck them into pieces and back again.

I just don't see how he could be that successful selling cars again. I think the only reason why he was somewhat successful the first time was because of the show.

I think the used car business is a little bit different in a small town in the South.  Where I live (outside of Raleigh) there are a number of small, dusty car lots off the highway, in among the strip malls and fast food chains. Some lots have maybe 20 cars on them.  The people who sell the cars aren't mechanics-- they're just people like the Duggars who buy cars at auction and then clean them up.

We bought our truck that way about 7 years ago.  My husband was driving along and spotted it in the lot near the grocery store.  It was cheap and it ran well and it was a lightweight, small truck-- which was exactly what we wanted.  It's still driving fine and I bet a month doesn't go by when someone will ask, "Is that truck for sell?" Someone asked me that yesterday when I was gardening; The truckbed was full of mulch which I was shoveling into my wheelbarrow. I don't understand it, I guess small, blue, foreign-built trucks are high in demand but short in supply.

On the other hand we bought our Passat through the Volkswagon specialty garage.  Our old car was getting into some serious trouble so we asked our favorite mechanic to look out for a replacement for us.  He found one in very good shape and it's been a great car for us.

I agree that they are different, I am from a small town in Ga. The difference is that Josh is now famous for the scandals. That will deter a lot of business. On the other hand, it could also bring it in from curious on lookers. There is no telling.

Look at whats happened to the companies that have dared touch the Duggars. The place that hosted their "girls retreat" had to take down their blog and facebook page.  I just dont see ANYONE hiring Josh in a customer oriented business.  If he were verified working somewhere, their online reviews would be slammed and facebook nuked.

My guess is that Josh is holed up folding campaign pamphlets for a homophobe.  He wont be seen until after the season is over, he's done enough damage to the brand as it is.  When the google searches on the show die down he'll pop back up to stir up interest.

Yes, I think you're correct. He can't be seen while the show is still airing. I think we will get a tabloid shot of him over the summer, but the family won't bring him back until Counting On is done.

The original poster I asked the question to said it was Marti Pellow from Wet Wet Wet.

I just have to say it. I believe Jill is pregnant again. This HAS to be the absolute longest she's gone on social media without a single glimpse of herself since she has had social media. She's trying to let a longer interval pass between Izzy's birth and the announcement, but by the time she announces, she'll be practically ready for her next labor plan.

ETA: I can say it with absolute certainty because I'm a Certified Expert in Everything!! LOL!

ETA Again: I put this in the wrong forum, LOL!

I agree. My guess is that Joshley won't be able to find a job in the "normal" world for at least a couple of years, maybe decades. But I bet the Duggars know enough shady fundie organisations like ATI/IBLP or that "rehab" he was in, which could give Josh a job somewhere in the back office.

If Joshley wanted to provide for his family and move on, there are options.

He could just change his name, move to a new state, dye his hair and sell cars for a dealership somewhere.  But, that makes sense.

He will end up with a "connection" job doing something JimBoob approved.

BWAH! Your post has me laughing hysterically. I'd like it a thousand times if I could.  Greasy tater tot...yeah, he's greasy and slimy, alright. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I'm still going with an eventual move to Texas.  The Pecan Thief can find Josh something simple and slightly demeaning at HQ and enjoy every minute knowing that Josh owes him AND that he's watching over Anna's husband for his in-laws.  Until Davy himself falls from grace, which almost certainly will happen sooner or later.  I'm not getting the feeling he's thrilled about Blessing 3 D or P and between that and the move to Texas and all that has entailed, he's probably very stressed out now.

I think "reformed Josh" will go on to be a "counselor" for other sinful members of the cult.

Goes with the old saying......watch one, do one, teach one.

He watched one (porn), did one (whatever her name was) and now he can teach others.

How long is the usual waiting period between getting caught in a scandal and getting to "minister" others as a reformed sinner?

I doubt Josh is working any place where a woman might approach him wearing shorts and a halter top.

Maybe that is why he wasn't seen yet? He isn't hiding from the ebil media, but his parents won't let him go anywhere where he could see defraudingly dressed women. :my_biggrin:

Josh can find a job. He's too fucking lazy to find one.

Yeah. There are jobs, and there are jobs.  Mowing lawns, hauling junk, house painting, etc. are all things Josh could do and no one would care who he was.  But I am sure he would find that kind of work demeaning.
