I think it has been speculated that Holt was one of the "elders" that JB consulted when the molestation first occurred.  In that sense he may have been part of the  initial cover-up.

if I remember correctly, there was later some incident when Josh was caught viewing porn during some campaign work Josh was doing for Holt.  And hasn't it been speculated that this may have been the "sin in the camp"?  (Either that or Josh put the moves on some fundie girl and Holt knew about it.). 

In any case, there was definitely a cooling between the two families, culminating in the above-mentioned approval of a critical post on Pickles.

How? RFK and some other Kennedys had decided to come to the tiny resort town and go kayaking. My dad, having been working on the sailboat all day, had not heard the buzz in town about them. He takes the boat out for a test of his fixes. Now, keep in mind that this is a medium-sized, tall, and very sturdy boat. The deck is maybe 5-6 feet above the water line. Dad was coming out of the harbor entrance, and a few kayaks cut him off, zipping over from another dock. He freaks out and slams on the inboard's brake and just manages to stop in time, yelling at them. When he gets back, he relates his story to my "uncle" (his close friend), and my uncle yells "YOU ALMOST RAN OVER THE KENNEDYS!"

ETA: This was, I think, in the 80s. The Kennedys also ate at a local restaurant that is still popular today. My dad, who is a history buff, once made me sit at a certain table...and told me that was where they had sat. And apparently they tipped 100% and liked the food. At this small, greasy diner.

I know this is a little late but what was the name of resort town or what the restruent was? Just courious if it was something I frequent during college.

 

As the talk of pasties makes me miss them but mainly my time living in the town I did for college. Last year I tried making them from stratch using a recipe I got from my university, the first time I did so they came out amazing but my subsequent tries I just screwed up.

I met Vanilla Ice in a gas station.. Well saw him. I was at Epcot (Disney world) when Michal Jackson was there and had the whole park shut down for his kids. Didn't see him but I saw his body guards there were many and too big too see over. He was staying at the same swan and dolphin suite in Disney as me. That's it...oh wait no.. I met president bush when I was a VMI cadet but try to push it out of my mind because I hate him. I also went to a concert with Mayday Parade, Rocket to the Moon, and Kings of Leon but didn't meet them but we were in the same room

Regarding meeting "celebs": my only claim to fame which is slightly interesting for free jinger would be Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Otherwise it's a few local celebs and a lot of politicians.

Probably Grandma. Or maybe they'll let Bin babysit him, since lord knows he needs the extra cash and knows how to deal with males who only care about food and boobies.

I wasn't as into them by that time and got sick of Love Is All Around after hearing it constantly for weeks on end. My fav songs of theirs was Temptation and Sweet Little Mystery. Their Platinum Album Award for Popped in Souled Out hung in my school library as it was the school they went to.

I don't know why, but i would say the actual number is close to 10 at least. 5 were the ones he got caught, but there's always more. People are getting more and more upset, and they are starting to lose the fear of talking.

So, add that to my very short list of celebrities I've seen in person.  She was getting off the same airplane in Tampa years ago when I was meeting in ex-in-laws.  Her biceps were ginormous. She was very pretty and signed a couple of autographs at the baggage claim area.

Visits to/from like minded families, conferences, etc. It makes me sick to think how many more victims there are.
