I am trying to imagine what his life must be like right now. Fresh out of Jesus jail, and now In hiding- most likely in the family compound. His family is most likely treating him to some degree as the pariah he is. The family talks forgiveness, but their comments and facial expressions suggest otherwise. He cannot leave the house for fear of the media. No job or apparent prospects. What a completely miserable existence- one of course that he brought on himself.

I'm wondering how long he will be willing to live this life before he makes his escape. I agree with others here that they will likely parade him around as the forgiven sinner at some point if he sticks around long enough.

If I were the family, I'd be more afraid of bystanders snapping pics with their smartphones than legit paps. I don't think that a pic of Josh is worth so much that paps would be willing to camp out 24/7 around the Duggar compound.

I'd like to think so too, but nothing sells a tabloid like a train wreck, and he is a huge one.

Couldn't a clever bystander with a smart phone sell a pic to In Touch? I don't know how this works and I live nowhere near Arkansas, ha ha.

How "popular" are the Duggars in the US? Interesting enough that the media would pay for 24/7 pap surveillance? That is not cheap after all, you need several paps in order to cover all the shifts and different Duggar properties. And it's not even sure that he is really in Arkansas. I for one wouldn't be surprised if he was in Big Sandy getting some IBLP "counseling".

well considering we got pictures of a grainy jill when she was 9 months pregnant at the mcmansion walking outside 

I am sure someone could get a picture of him somewhere if he was allowed to leave the TTH

I'm inclined to believe that he's hidden away on some property off the beaten path. Perhaps Anna and the M'kids have joined him in his hobbit hole. Either that or Anna and the kids are still living at the TTH and the older boys are Josh's "accountability partners" helping him re-integrate back into the family.

Accountability partners can be very useful when you struggle with someting and you want someone to join you in the battle you face.

If you do not choose to have an accountability partner, but get one forced on you, the only result is that you become more skilled in sinning secretly.

Accountability partners were never meant as an extension of the control of a third party. In that case they are not your support in battle, but just your police.

I think Josh is staying in the Duggar guest house with Anna, and is allowed into the main house for meals and otherwise by invitation only.  He's probably expected to spend a certain number of hours each day reading the bible and doing work around the property.  I believe they'll end up at Big Sandy or RU or an overseas Gothard mission, but not until it's believed that he needs minimal supervision.  Also, Anna may not be ready to deal with him without being backed up by Jim Bob and other adult male Duggars.

It would be very interesting to know how Joshley really feels about all of this. Not that he will ever be able to have a sincere talk with his family members or a legit therapist (unless he leaves the cult), but I do wonder what Josh's thoughts are. 

Also, I hope for his kids that things are not too tense in the family right now, that must be horrible for them, especially since in this family, nothing ever gets discussed openly and honestly. Or that at least everyone makes an affort to shield the kids from all the potential conflicts and bad feelings that even the most adamant "keeping sweet" orders can't fully suppress.

According to one of the online scandal sheets, Josh is being "shunned" by his family.  I can see them engaging in a lot of passive aggressive ignoring of him because (as they rationalize their uncharitable behavior) they don't trust him.  They certainly wouldn't be shunning him because they haven't forgiven!

I don't believe any of it.  We know from the history of these "events" in Gothard families that people aren't shunned for molesting children or siblings, or for the men having affairs (women, maybe.) They rarely separate the offender from the other children. The only real shunning  is for people who deliberately leave the cult.  JB had said how it was common for sibling molestation to happen, but he never mentioned that they had any consequences.  And you know those elders are always fooling around on the side.  Never heard of any of them getting shunned.

Sometimes when I watch these kids, when I see Jessa in that perpetual smirk I think, as they are all getting together and deciding about their scripted plots, they are all just laughing at us and going, boy this will outrage everyone, this will get them talking.  They just sit there and know we will all fuss over the drama and speculate on who's getting married next, will Anna leave Josh, etc.  Tune in next week!  Exactly the methods soap operas use.

I think Josh came back, everyone had a nice dinner, then JB goes, oh no Josh go back to the basement, the cameras will be here soon.  OK everyone get your tissue to poke into your eyes to get those tears going.  Then they laugh a little and go to Josh, ok see you in a bit.  I don't even have sympathy for Anna once I heard her say something like, well at least I have a husband and don't have to work.  I lost any respect for her at that point.

@anotherone I don't know if I agree with your reasoning.  The adult Duggars wouldn't be shunning/ignoring Josh because he has a history of molesting or cheating on his wife or looking at pornography.  They'd be shunning him because he caused them a lot of embarrassment and the 19KAC show and they don't know how to communicate their anger in a straight-forward fashion.  They don't trust him not to upset the apple cart with the new show by getting caught doing something else hypocritical. If I don't trust someone, why would I bother being nice or friendly?  For all their talk about forgiveness, I think there's still a lot of anger toward Josh among the adult Duggars. I'd put Jessa in the lead with the "I don't have time to talk to you" group--if, in deed, such a group exists.

Okay.  "Shun" is a strong word.  Try "ignore".    Are the Duggars too Godly to pointedly ignore Josh, e.g., not go out of their way to spend time with him?

I think some of the older Duggars are angry with Josh. What he did was wrong. The younger kids may not understand why they are no longer on TV because of Josh.
