As someone who lives close to Calvary Bible Church....I will tell you that I detest the pastor. When my son died a few months ago, his really close friend who was a girl went to speak with the pastor about her grief because her mom goes to the church. The pastor told her that my son died because he wasn't a Christian and she shouldn't have friends that were Agnostic because then she wouldn't be dealing with the grief of their death. (Cause Christian never die?????)

This girl's mother keeps dropping off these CD's for me to listen to (yeah NOT) of the sermons that he gives because the pastor tells the mom that it will help me heal. I'm sure my Quaker Memorial Service had her fit to be tied as there is no preaching of fire and brimstone.

As for Anna, her life "began" when she got engaged and ended on 9/26/08 (I remember their wedding date because it would have been my dad's 80th b-day. He passed in May of that year) when she was nailed for the first time.

I am so very sorry for your loss.

My baby Katherine died at the age of 11 months. A few weeks after she died, we got this book in the mail "Why Your Baby Is In Heaven" pointing out to us that God took our baby so that my husband and I might become Christians. We were Catholics at the time although I've totally left the church and my dh is studying to become an Anglican deacon. Mr Sycamore threw the book intio the trash where it belonged. We never knew who sent the book because it was unsigned. Cowards! I wish that people knew that such tactics backfire almost 100% of the time. What a way to tell people about a supposedly loving God! After 24 years, that damn book is one of the most vivid memories of that terrible time. Fortunately, I also have the memory of a neighbor, Susan, who was so helpful in so many ways. Susan, btw, was Catholic.

GiGi, I know it is not much to say it, since I am a complete stranger on the internet, but I am so sorry about your son. That pastor is just...wrong. Infertility is not the same as sterility. Sterility is a total lack of sperm or total lack of motile sperm.
