Honestly, it depends on the person and the pregnancy. You definitely see people who exercise vigorously and are busy right up until birth, but you also have people like me who are exhausted and in pain for seven months. Most people / pregnancies fall somewhere in between the two extremes (I devoutly hope, as I don't want to be bedridden for an entire year next time).

They are all very young and they've all had easy, uncomplicated pregnancies. None of them had hyperemesis, none had insulin-dependant gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, hypertension, IUGR, incompetent cervix for which they were put on bed rest for weeks or months at a time, etc.

My first pregnancy was fairly easy (aside from the fact I am diabetic). I did moderate 1-2 hr hikes in Fundy National Park in my third trimester without much trouble. My current pregnancy is very complicated and difficult and I have felt really awful for a variety of reasons. I will probably be put on disability at 28 weeks. You just never know.

I suck at pregnancy. So I would have politely declined an invitation to be a Bridesmaid at 9+ months pregnant.

I dont care who you are or how you handle pregnancy, being 9 months pregnant and a bridesmaid would be horrible. You'd be up there just praying the baby didnt give a good stretch or punch to your bladder. I'd be having a panic attack about it most likely, especially knowing its being filmed.

Can a bridesmaid walk off the stage during the ceremony? And how far is the nearest bathroom???

I swear I have to pee really bad just thinking about it.

I hope I get an easy one next time after the hell that was my first! Good luck to you, and remember it does end. Plus it's the only illness in the world where you get a brand new baby to sniff when it's all done with

Ugh. Getting locked in an "escape room" with Josh would be like a nightmare come true. Talk about an incentive to escape!

I think I could tear down a concrete wall with my bare hands if I was locked in a room with Joshley. I would have to stop to kick him in the cojones a few times. I'm not a violent person, but I think I'd have to make an exception in the presence of the douchemaster.

This reminds me of the first time I saw a photo of my mother when she was a kid. I was fairly young and asked my mom why my brother was wearing a dress. Though a big difference is my mom probably thought my confusion was cute/funny, and the Duggars would recoil in horror at the idea of a boy in a dress, even if it didn't happen.

My eldest brother was born in 1970. The bonds grow suit wasn't introduced until 1972 so he was in nighties all the time as a young baby.

Will Mason Garrett's birth be shown on Counting On?

Probably yes, since chances are high Smuggar will be sleeping, going to a baseball game or watching porn in the garage.

I like the name. We always give "family" names as middle names- I am happy they continued this (other than Anthony????, not sure if that's a family name).

The birth announcements are all so sad mentioning him being the baby after 2 scandals. It was bad for Meredith but all the news about his birth contains Josh's scandals. These poor children.

I'm deeply confused by how/why US Mag could possibly think that we would find it enjoyable to look at a picture of a child molester kissing a baby. Personally, I'm repulsed by the image.

man, I thought you guys were joking about the redemption baby, but Plan redemption baby is in full effect, we haven't seen this much of Josh in months, and now he is in videos on the duggar youtube page and in a Us photoshoot.

Crazy how the baby is 9lbs but looks so small in his siblings and parents arms. Babies are mind boggling, when you're not physically around them all the time.

Talking about being pregnant and exercising vigorously, people should check out @chontelduncan on Instagram who's an Aussie fitness instructor who owns her own gym and is currently 39 weeks with her second baby. She posted bump pics and work out videos through out both pregnancies. Pretty neat to see

Love story? Really?  Way to spin some revisionist history. No mention of him being a low down dirty scum bucket.

I'm pretty sure this video is from that episode. I remember Amy and Jinger(?) not wanting to skate and sitting on the benches with Grandma Mary.

I just found a very blurry clip from that episode on YouTube by searching for "Duggars Skating Rink." It's two years old and is of Michelle skating backwards to YMCA (i.e. and exact match to the Birthday posting). So yep, they're using a years-old clip from the show on their own Facebook page to show how youthful and active Michelle is at 51. :my_huh: I mean, go her for skating at whatever age she was in that clip, and maybe still doing so now, but why imply that it's current? Serious Duggar fans (and skeptical viewers too) DO remember what they've seen in the past.

You know, I don't like to snark on people's looks b/c they didn't get to choose what they look like, but that's a pretty good description of Eric Trump.

I'd never thought of naked mole rats looking at him. I usually think of the changelings/Founders from Star Trek: Deep Space 9.

That baby announcement was so cute, I've made mental notes and the grey knit was lovely. I wonder if it was homemade. I wouldn't be surprised at all if crochet and knitting were big in fundie circles! (Note to self: buy yarn now and begin scarves so they are ready by the hols).

I was wondering if it was homemade, too. Something about it made me think that it might be.

I'm not sure it is, at least with the fundies we follow here. Enough of them don't sew, garden, bake, etc. when you'd think it would make sense to, with the income levels and family sizes.

Until the 1920s or so, it was normal for little boys to wear dresses before they were four or so. In upper class families, at least, when a boy started to wear pants it symbolized his transition from the feminine education had at his mother or nanny's knee towards his education into manhood with his father and other adult males. From a pure logistical perspective, it seems like having babies and toddlers of both genders wearing dresses would make things easier in terms of cleaning up and the like. This would be especially true for the Duggars, since the TTH will have children in the diapers and/or potty training stages present for the foreseeable future. It's odd to think that the Victorians et al were more into gender neutral baby clothes than we are today, where it seems like all clothes have to broadcast to the world whether the child in question is a girl or a boy.

Most Americans would say May-son. Southerners sometimes pronounce it more like May-sin (especially when saying "Mason Dixon") so maybe they do say it that way.

They change to trousers was at about 3 and called "breaching" as in wearing breeches.  I expect that was due to not being in diapers anymore.

I'm pretty sure it's machine knitted. I'm a knitter, and it doesn't look home made to me. Cute, though.

Interesting! I've never once heard it pronounced May-son. I scooted around the internet and this all still sounds like May-sin, or May-sun to me. https://www.howtopronounce.com/mason/  Even listening to the pronunciation of son: https://www.howtopronounce.com/son/

Sun and son are pronounced exactly the same to me...
