Given how often the siblings seem to be at Erin's or Zach's your probably right. Well its not like that's Kelly's job or Gil.

What Gill and Kelly raise their own children? Take care of their own children? God no! Why would they do a thing like that?

Natural Family Planning is not only acceptable in the Roman Catholic Church, it is taught.  I mean... not that it really works.  My brother is very devout and insisted theyd practice NFP after their marriage.  He and his wife got pregnant exactly five seconds after they were married.  They got pregnant again exactly five seconds after she stopped BF number 1.  No pregnancies since.  Looks like someone put her foot down.

Efficacy rates are surprisingly high when used properly and if you have a fairly regular cycle. It's gotten more accurate when the introduction of the Marquette method. A lot of people find it a challenge to use because it requires a lot of self-discipline (which would be really, really difficult just after marriage).

Here is Kelly's birthday message to Michael. I'm pretty sure Kelly and Gil would have had eleventy children anyway.

I don't know any of the Bates' boys' names, but it looks like the one in the red and black is about to stab a shard of glass into his brother's head. Also that birthday message is ridiculous.

Wow, those Gil genes are strong in those boys, especially the two older ones!

After 5 days with the 5 boys, probably Brandon went to the nearest pharmacy to get some condoms.

Well, I know he didn't. But I bet he thought about it. He seems so serious, quiet and sometimes dissapointed of Bates.

@VineHeart137, I think it's ice not glass. :) I don't know their names either but the one being stabbed sure looks like a mini Gil.

Haha thanks! I was wearing a tank top yesterday lol we don't get ice where I live!

Interesting... maybe they've gotten better at it.

By using ovulation predictor kits and basal body thermometers, both of which are relatively inexpensive, it's actually fairly simple to pinpoint ovulation and track your fertility cycle. The hard part is not having sex in the fertility window when you're feeling frisky!

So did anyone watch the episode last night ? Did they actually touch on the issue ?

Nope. They basically said they were sad it hadn't happened yet and now that it's been 1 year they can actually see a specialist. (At their age it's recommended to wait a year first..). So they are going to start looking for a specialist. That was pretty much it.

Well, at least nobody is telling her to just pray about it or that God is telling them no. I hope they pick a good reproductive endocrinologist and not just some super religious weirdo.

Well he will definitely have to be Christian. ;)

It was weird. Michael said, so after 6 months I went to a doctor. She didn't say what was said. I'm sure she probably has fertility issues and can do treatments and that's what they're praying about. I bet  they don't have great insurance or the money to pay for such expensive treatments. Again this is my guess. Her and Erin have completely different issues. Regardless I'm sad for her.

They hadn't seen a doctor yet. She said they noticed after 6 months that their friends were all getting pregnant and she hadn't so realized something might be wrong. She said they had to wait til they were trying for a year before going to a doctor.

I have no particular expertise in this area, but - given Erin's genetically-based difficulties in maintaining a pregnancy - I'm a bit surprised they couldn't get the OK to see a doctor sooner.  Especially if their insurance is faith-based.

I find it hard to not feel bad for these two.  Yeah, cult, but I believe any child of theirs would be genuinely loved.  Do I hope they have children?  Not quite, but I still think I'll be happy for them if it happens.

Michaela said they were praying about what to do next. (IMO Michaela is praying way harder than Brandon.). Then Brandon says something about God isn't saying No (Michaela inserts I hope not) but He is saying not now.

Probably Brandon doesn't want a quiver so he feels lucky if Michael is not getting pregnant. I'm sure he will avoid doctors the longest he can. "God's timing" is a good excuse for doing nothing and shut families' mouths.

I was not referred to a specialist until a year of unprotected sex. So it's pretty standard. But if you are a female and over 35, they say only wait 6 months. Because you don't want to waste any time when you are older. So technically she probably saw a specialist around august since that would make a year.

And I wouldn't be surprised if Brandon is just fine with waiting for kids. It seems he is a major planner. He probably is glad to have the extra time to enjoy being married and not worrying about the expense of a pregnancy and new baby and having to move to a bigger place.

Actually since they live in Illinois they have mandated IVF and infertility coverage. So if that's the case they're in a great state for it

Brandon strikes me as the monk or priest type. Like his solitude holds him together. I can't see him wanting more than 2 kids just because he wouldn't want to be outnumbered. Plus I can see him wanting to space them out a  few years as well. But I don't think he would Michael that. Honestly the girl has been a mom since she was in diapers herself. Maybe this is God's way of giving her a much needed break.

If they have insurance. Who knows if they do. I think the Duggars skipped health insurance didn't they?

Another story that doesn't die.  Jim Bob has talked on the show about their health insurance and how they'd be foolish not to have it with all those kids.
