John David (I assume--could be Josiah) flew to Sevier County and back early this morning. They went to Sevier County during the Huckabee education round table, too. Is it where their lawyer lives? For folks reading this in the future, today was the day the Josh under age sex scandal blew up, after percolating for a day or two. I'm buried in that thread right now, but I wanted to report this flight in case it becomes relevant. And because I like to report all of the flights, heh.

Right now Huckabee is probably trying to figure out how fast he can run from his association with the Duggars.

Was Josh already in Arkansas when this blew up? Did he fly in yesterday or are they still dealing with it from DC?

Mystery guest has been returned to Sevier County:

I clicked the question mark on the Sevier County arrival and got this:

What does "result unknown" mean? (Back to top)

It means that the estimated arrival time of the flight has passed without FlightAware marking the flight as "arrived." There are the most likely reasons why this happened:

The aircraft left FlightAware's coverage area and data is no longer available.

The controlling air traffic control facility did not send an arrival message for a flight, which is rare.

I'm guessing you all have seen the news that Huckabee "stands with the Duggars". I wonder if they were out there pleading with Huckabee.

EDIT: Silly me realized who was on that plane

There is only 1 county between Sevier County, TN and Anderson County where the Bates family resides. Could the Duggar plane have gone to TN to pick up Gil Bates, the fundies are circling their wagons and closing ranks... Just a thought.

Is there a Sevier County in AR or are we talking about the one in TN?

It's Arkansas. County seat is De Queen, population around 6500. It's a short flight from Springdale, 45 minutes due south.

I would be pretty shocked if Gil came out in support of Jim Bob right now. I think Gil is probably a little more savvy than that - though I'm still wondering why, exactly, Huckabee isn't. Guess he wants to dig his own grave.

Gil's family is finally getting their "moment." I don't know if he'll let Jim Bob f*ck it up. If any Duggar girl is dating a Bates boy right now, I have a feeling we shouldn't expect any official announcement for quite a while.

Gil is on the board of directors; but WAS he a director when Boob mentioned the assult to the Church?

Also would have Gil and his family have been at the services where Josh admitted his "mistakes"?

I would really like to think Gil didn't know; but then again who knows with these people.

Somebody's in Tulsa this morning. We have no way of knowing the truth, but I tend to think it's Josiah making these short flights as part of his training.

Used to be that a student pilot had to do three X country solos, each increasingly longer.

I wonder if JD is hoping to move toward piloting for emergency situations... an air ambulance kind of thing. He does seem driven to work in public service of various kinds; volunteer firefighter/emt/constable. Maybe he's working toward higher levels of certification in hopes that it will advance him in that direction? I could see him combining his interests by piloting for medical emergencies that need fast transport somewhere. I think most of that kind of transport is done by helicopter, but it was my first thought when I read that he has been getting certified at a higher level than he actually needs. I'm not sure what kind of certifications would be needed for someone to pilot aircraft in a medical capacity, though, and my gut feeling is that he wouldn't be permitted to use a private aircraft for something like that.

He would get his emt cert from a local community college easily and he'd probably need a helicopter license (if that's a thing) to fly an emergency air carrier.

Depending on how things work in AR he wouldn't have to step foot into the community college to get his EMT. I know here in KS departments host instructors in house. It's the same course but just a few miles from home. He'd be required to touch females though.

There are also air ambulances which are airplanes. The really good companies in the US use Learjets or similar jets, not prop planes though. The pilot doesn't touch the patient or the trained medical staff with the patient. A few companies do use turboprop planes. They are cheaper and slower to hire, of course, but get the job done if transport of an ill or otherwise medically fragile person across country or the like is the primary goal.

They do use helicopters for emergency life flights, but they use small airplanes for other medical purposes like the transport of donor organs and for people who are flying to other hospitals that are a long distance away because they need certain specialists, a helicopter wouldn't be able to fly that far. We had a pt we flew to St. Louis from New Orleans because she had a rare disease and the nearest specialist we could find that had dealt with her condition was in STL. So that was over a 600 mile flight. I think it would be cool for JD to get into some type of medi-flight occupation, he could combine his love for piloting with his calling for public service.

In my area we use helicopters because hospitals are near by air wise. Out west, west side of the state, though they use airplanes because hospitals are far away. I think JD would be happy flying those kind of flights. Air Paramedics make damn good money too.

Three days later and the plane hasn't returned from Tulsa. That's strange considering it usually acts as a shuttle service pretty much. There is an ATI training center pretty close to Tulsa.

Maybe JB put a freeze on unneeded spending right now? Maybe they have mechanical issues that need to be taken care of.... Whoever was in/flew the plane to Tulsa could have returned by car or other means....

Rotary wing and fixed wing aircraft have almost nothing in common. While he'd be able to carry over knowledge of weather, map symbology, navigation and the like, he'd have to start from scratch to get a rotary wing license.

They are bloody expensive too. I looked into it back when I got my fixed wing license- I could rent a Cessna for $70 an hour and flight instructors were another $25. For the cheapest helicopter it was something like$200 an hour and instructors were double the price. they're kind of terrifying too- engine out emergencies in fixed wing are bad but usually survivable, even more so if you have a ballistic parachute like JD's airplane. Autorotation? Yikes.

I've stuck with model ones...

Well who ever was flying the plane might be in Tulsa, maybe JD had a conference or something. He is the only Duggar that works outside of the home now, he might had a conference pertaining to his position as a constable? Just a thought.
