Any word on fundie responses to the election?

The latest post from my fb fundie is this from this morning:

"and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chron. 7:14 Some of us are not pleased with who the president is, but will you join me in praying for his salvation, for his marriage, his family, his protection, for his leadership, and for those around him? Continue to pray for our country God provides a conditional promise and when we are obedient to humble ourselves by confessing our sin, pray to God and ask for forgiveness, seek God continually, and turn from our wicked ways, He WILL forgive our sin and heal our land. BTW God = the One who spoke the universe into existence, the LORD of lords and King of kings, the Alpha and the Omega.

She and I used to work together and at that time she was gay and she obviously believed in science because she administered a high profile DNA database for our state. Now she's supposedly straight and is a 6-day literal Genesis creationist

Okay, thanks? I was making a generalization that is largely true. Obviously there are exceptions to every rule. But it is no generalization to say that the reason that the country is geographically more red than blue is because the red spaces tend to have far lower populations.

Not trying to be shitty, just "again" so that it doesn't look like I'm repeating myself.

The whole map just looks weird to me. Even giant metro areas, like Chicago, are out of place, and then in these super rural states they have big patches of blue that don't exist. It's just strange.

Sorry. I took the "again" the wrong way--I guess I didn't see your earlier statement.

The Illinois map is probably very accurate. I am from the far far Chicago suburbs and it is extremely Republican. Romney won my county by 50 somthing percent.

This came up on my fb feed. This friend is not a fundie but definitely one of those pro gun, pro militia types.

I almost wish they would. I know someone already posted the map in this thread, but "red" states generally take way more in federal aid than they put in, compared to "blue" states. The god 'n guns crowd can have their country, and the rest of us will watch it devolve into Idiocracy

Kelly Crapford has spoken...

It refers to the obvious thought process that when a child has been educated by the government (one of the most important factors in his young life)he will naturally look to the government to care for his other big needs. Socialism is, by its nature, part of how the system works. Government education IS socialism.

Only cause she votes for issues only relating to herself, doesn't mean other people do the same.

I am a social liberal living in a social democracy. The reason I support this system is because I think it works. I think socialism creates a fair and equal society (it's not ideal, but tell me what kind of system is? even the best systems have faults). I can easily earn money my own way (as long as I have my health). The thing is, you never know when you'll get sick. You might be able to work for 30 years and then suddenly you can't work anymore due to poor health. When your health is poor and you are not able to support yourself financially, you will be granted help from the system which you have helped supporting with your taxes. I think social security is very important for all of us.

I wouldn't say I support this system for myself. I do not feel entitled to anything in particular. I support this system because I want people to have the same privileges that I have had and still have. Free university education, free health care, study contributions, contributions from the social services when you can't support yourself, treatment when needed etc. For a bunch of reasons people can't always support themselves. Kelly is ignorant who can't see that.

You know what, Kelly. Public school taught me that injustice is unfair and that we all deserve the same rights. I do consider other people's needs to be of great importance. If public school taught me to value socialism it was because I realized that other people matter too. How can socialism be selfish? I can't see that. The 30 % taxes I pay go to people who need those money better than I do. I fully support that. I get frustrated whenever I hear that the goverment wants to reduce some of our taxes. I know that whenever there is a tax reduction somewhere, there will be less money for the social welfare and education (for example).

Kelly, between us two, you know who's selfish? That ain't me.

How is FEMA like Nazi Germany? I just...I don't get it. I do not even remotely understand the comparisons.

No idea, but I have spent the past four years trying to tell her that Obama isnt Muslim and is an American citizen, and that doctors and medicine arent evil.

She knows no logic.

Oh, come on Thoughtful, I'd be very grateful if in that situation someone shoved a KJV in my hand. After all, most of them are printed on that really, fine, thin India paper, nice and strong. And there would be lots and lots of pages of it.

I could cache it beside my newly dug latrine trench in my mountain hideaway.

I thought of that, but didn't write it. Clearly, you are a much more practical person than I am. I'm just not cut out for this survival stuff, I guess.

Pomology, surely you know that, for people who Godwin at the drop of a hat, the formula is quite simple:

Anything I Don't Like = Nazis (or, if an individual, "just like Hitler")

With that mindset, the following all make sense:

FEMA = Nazis

Their mothers-in-law = Hitler

Their fathers-in-law = Hitler

Their employers = Nazis

Public school teachers = Nazis

The slow waiter? Definitely Just Like Hitler

See how clear and simple that is? ;)

Now, Jon Stewart, on the other hand, prefers a somewhat higher standard:

Gotta love Jon Stewart! and yeah, I hate when people equate stuff to hitler/holocaust/nazis.. Are they killing a group of people for no good reason? starving, assaulting, torturing and experimenting on them? No? Ok, stfu then!

Asrat (Camera Lucida)

http://cameraluc.blogspotcom/2012/11/a- ... aking.html

I was genuinely shocked that Obama won the elections. I was in a kind of haze yesterday, trying to understand what this could possibly mean (for me, at least).

Finally, I this is what I surmised:

From now on, I will assume that any non-white I come across: Chinese, Muslim, black, Middle Eastern, Asian, African, Korean, Jamaican, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Japanese, Philippino, wants Canada to fail, wants white Americans to fail, wants to destroy the historical white-created Western civilization to fail.

They will be my enemies.

As much as it was a shocking outcome (I really thought Romney would win), it stands now as a proof that we can no longer stay with the status quo of letting unassimilable, unassimilated, non-Western groups have such decisive, and devastating, effects on our society and culture.

We have to strategize:

1. To reduce the numbers of these population groups

2. To reduce the effect of these population groups

3. To keep on going despite negative, even possibly dangerous, repercussions against us

This election's outcome is the straw that (should) break the camel's back. It is up to us to make that analogy clear and final

It's the Glenn Beck syndrome. If your worldview can turn the freaking Peace Corps into the Hitler Youth, you know you've Godwin'ed yourself out of all relevance.

What the actual fuck? The world would be so much better off if she just ceased to exist in it.

I just picture the scene in HP5 where they abandon Umbridge in the forest with the centaurs, and she's just pontificating about how much better she is than them, then gets attacked. I would say something like this should happen to Kidist, but her "enemies" are so much more civilized than she'll ever be.

Candy is preparing for the end of civilization as we know it - joyfulchristianhomemaking.blogspot.ca/

My somewhat snarky responses to these points...

Do King James Bibles have some greater virtue? Do they make better tinder for starting fires? Are they better for squashing bugs? Would they be better at scaring off burglars than a NIV Bible?

If you have a quiver full of kids, bug out bags aren't going to cut it, you need a bug out trailer.

Doctors weren't affordable even before Obama Care... smh.

Oy, Eliminationism is really disgusting. Don't get me started on the "white-created Western civilization" bullshit, because I will start ranting about colonialism and people of color building monuments of Western civilization for which they've never gotten the credit. This is kidist, right? Isn't she in fact Ethiopian-Canadian?

And-- because "Muslim" kind of doesn't fit on that list, seeing as Islam is a religion, not a national origin or "race," I wonder if she knows that in the U.S., anyway, Muslims tended to vote conservative up through 2000, right up until they became conservatives' favorite scapegoat of the moment: http://www.ranyontheroyals.com/2012/11/the-gop-and-me.html

The Nazis (the original German ones) considered Judaism a race/ethnicity, not a religion. They even had their own version of the "one drop" rule (throughout US history, one drop of black blood made you black, regardless of the shade of your skin). Germans and conquered Europeans had to provide family trees proving they had no Jewish ancestors. Even if you were the most Aryan looking person in town, if they found a Jewish grandparent you're getting put on a cattle car.

Take a second to revel in the irony of calling other people Nazis while expressing religion has a biological component and Jews and Muslims are each their own race (they are no longer considered white folk). :)

A reaction from professional fundie Tony Perkins: http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/f ... s-election

As the link points out, Perkins and his friends are not just upset about the presidential election and same-sex marriage victories:

FRC’s Faith Family and Freedom Fund invested hundreds of thousands of dollars to aid Todd Akin, who lost in a landslide.

Longing for the day when FRC either goes bankrupt or decides that there are better uses for their money than the campaigns of misogynists and homophobes. I'd be okay with either of those options.

Oy, Just now on Facebook. I'd unfriend her but I like to know where the crazy is coming from.

Okay. Regarding this election. This is my checklist: 1) getting my spiritual house in order. 2) getting my mental house in order. 3) getting my physical house in order and 4) getting my financial house in order. In that order. SMH. Hell is already breaking loose. How bad it gets how fast is anybody's guess. We know how it ends of course but what people are failing to understand is it doesn't get to that end just all of a sudden. There's a gradual slope (labor pains). When America ceases to be thee pre-eminent super power we set ourselves up for a takeover from the Muslim nations who are under strict orders from Allah that we are Satan himself and must be stopped. The chess pieces are falling into place. I am SO done with people who don't understand that. I can pray for them I suppose (like I should).Oh, and I'm going bullet buying on Saturday. My inlaws are here and he knows his guns :))))

One of her friends then responds how she always packs heat in [iEden Prairie MN because of all the Muslims there.

How long do you think it's going to be before one of these daft twats sees a brown person, freaks the fuck out and accidentally shoots herself? And WTF with smileys next to posts about bullets?

I think the Jtroll (I shall not type his name) is getting his food stocked up, his guns cleaned and his ammo purchased. Either that or he has been stooped over his couch with a bible in hand ensuring his future salvation.

Doug Phillips is a tool, is too busy hunting anaconda's right now to acknowledge his patriarchs Constitution Party garnered less than 100k in votes. (And they had the best ballot coverage the lawyers for a third party could buy in this election.)
