Any word on fundie responses to the election?

As far as our favourite fundies, Chris Jeub has a few things to say:

chrisjeub.com

"My family and I are going to be fine. The election last night will not change my family’s beating heart. I have a brilliant wife and a house full of beautiful children that will plow through the toughest of situations. Four more years of the same is going to be tough to wade through, but the Jeubs will pull through, maybe even prosper.

On finances. Don’t worry about me and my 14 children. I will continue to earn my own way. I may be dangerously close to the poverty line, but I earn every single penny of my income. I love that, and I wish others – especially the poor in spirit – would know the joy of self-reliance and financial independence. Instead, the food lines will grow with the government dole. The great gifts that individuals have to offer society will be traded for welfare checks."

Breathe easy everyone, Chris and the Jeubs will be fine. I know all of us government dependants were very worried about them.

"On business. Come to think of it, the demand for trained minds went up last night. My business and nonprofit will grow, maybe even prosper. My accountant let me know that I’ll be paying an additional $4,000 in 2013, but I’ll make up for it by charging more or cutting expenses elsewhere. Some of my more financially risky ideas will have to go. That’s business. My customers will suffer, and that is disappointing – for the both of us."

"Supreme Court Justices will embolden pro-abortion law and keep the murder of innocents unrestricted and legal for at least another generation. My country will continue to value childlessness and lifelessness. Not in my family. The lives of our children – unborn included – will be protected.

Chris Jeub and his family will be fine. I am sad for others."

And jeubfamily.com

"That’s significant. I feel like giving into the weight of government. My taxes will go up $4000 next year, and I’ll have to raise my prices, and I’ll have to cut some expenses, and I’ll have to let go of some of my riskier ideas. (I wrote about this today in my article “We Are Going to Be Fine.â€)

Ayn Rand was an angry and bitter atheist. She saw the poor as parasites. That’s twisted and unfortunate. I love the poor, and I want little more than to have them discover self-reliance and prosperity. That’s much more difficult under an empowered government and an expanded welfare state."

He never was a good loser. I havn't seen any other blogs yet. The Maxwells won't say anything I'm sure.

Anyone see Rebecca!!!!!111!!!ELEVENTY!!!!11!!!'s post? I am not sure if she wrote it or if her dad did:

"I Can't Believe It!

How could this happen? I don't understand, I just don't understand.

That man is not a leader, and he's been placed in authority over

us again! 4 more long years! I don't want us to have to suffer

because of other people's wrong decisions and sins! I just

don't understand!!!!! What will happen now?"

OMG! Run to the hills!

Last night when I was praying before bed, before all the returns were in and Romney was in the lead, I was stuck for trying to think of something comforting to pray. The verse "Not my will then, but yours," came immediately to mind.

The fundies claim to believe the Bible, and that God can directly influence American politics (and I don't), so why aren't they saying this as well? If they believe that the election was decided by God, why are they still trying to impose their will on it? :?:

Seriously one of the funniest responses so far. I can't wait until Juterus and her consort start blowing hot air about the election. Josh has made a complete fool out of himself. But I'm attempting to console him on his FB page since he is a friend. 8-)

I did get defriended by a few people just because I wrote "4 more years!!" Real mature, people. Seriously, maybe I should start defriending those who do not follow Hinduism like me. After all, what I believe in is right and everyone else are idiots and don't know anything. It's the same shit some of my "ex-fb friends" did by defriending Obama supporters. What exactly does that prove? Way to make a statement

Not a fundie but my ex had the following status:

to all of the service men and women of the united states armed forces and their families I am sorry for the outcome that the uneducated voters of America have chosen this year............. looks like its a future of food stamps, free give a ways, not working for anything on your own, blaming the govt for your problems......... and not to mention one step closer to a socialist nation

His older brother agreed with him that if you voted for socialism, you're uneducated.

Obama is Voldemort? That's a new one... :?

I've long suspected that. Obammy, Nero, Nobama, etc., many that post anti-Obama rants on the internet don't mention him by name. Just like a certain evil wizard....

A girl I know said her rich mother is going to move to Israel so she can stop paying over 50% of her income in taxes.

I'm still trying to figure out why Israel, if anyone has any clue I'd love an explanation.

Is she Jewish? I don't know about their tax rates, but I know if you're Jewish you can easily get citizenship. Presumably her mother's too old to serve in the military like all Israeli young adults have to.

Re: ICHABOD, I think it refers to a bible quote.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. NJK Proverbs 29:2
When they say Obama's wicked, I don't think they mean it in the Massachusetts sense. :)

Does your ex not realize that military personnel are part of the 47% that Romney couldn't be bothered to worry about?

And now we have to endure four more years of photos of his piggish wife everywhere.

but this one is the best, I think:

Husband is so depressed he told me he does not want to bring any more innocent babies into this nasty old world. I guess I have some major work ahead of me to change that. I sort of get the attitude, but it's wrong. We need more good people to fight evil.

Here's one from my wall about that exact thing. Nothing like being holier-than-thou and trying to out-fundy each other! If you are putting too much faith in one man (um...) by complaining about the election you are not trusting God enough! And complaining is mean, you need to be loving! (To be fair, I don't know how fundy this guy is, his profile just says "Christian" and we've never talked about religion.)

I believe what some have posted about the election results says wonders about what you put your trust in. Whether it be your guns, government, a man, or your money, it's all going to let you down. I choose to look toward Jesus for true justice, mercy, and love for our world.

If you profess faith in Jesus, Mohammed, or Richard Dawkins, prove it by showing this love regardless of who governs these United States.

I saw that and was going to bring it to FJ (you beat me to it :D ). From the old document:

BECAUSE it means competition of women with men instead of co-operation.
Just goes to show what century fundie minds are stuck in.

Jacinda at Growing Home posted a long whine about it. She blathers on about how if churches stood up and took care of the deserving poor that we wouldn't be so dependent on the government. I'm not sure how relying on the church is morally superior to relying on the government, but whatever.

She is awfully pro-America and pro-Romney for a Canadian, even calling it "our nation." She recently posted something to her fb account when called on this about how she hopes to provide a cautionary tale to Americans, as Canadians are further down our road of decline than Americans are. :eyeroll: Funny, as everything I read indicates that Canada is doing pretty well economically right now, comparatively speaking, higher taxes, socialized medicine, public welfare and all.

I am so confused - Michelle is a gorgeous, stylish woman who is very fit. Not that it would be okay to attack her appearance otherwise, but if one factors in reality the statement is utterly baseless.

Sheesh. That site is pretty overboard with the victoriana too. I got sucked into reading some of her movie reviews, such as this excerpt from the review of The Scarlet Pimpernel:

"I love his clothing. It’s soooo neat. And I. Just. Love. His. Cape. And. Hat. It’s so cool."

Her profile says she is 23.

Also, her site is blogspot.co.uk -- is she British or just an uber-anglophile? Confusing.

It's probably just that weird thing blogspot addresses do. If you copy-and-paste a blogspot url in the UK it becomes .co.uk, if you do it in New Zealand it becomes .nz, etc.

Because the government gives aid based on need (or is supposed to anyway), while a church can give aid based on whatever it wants. If the churches were caring for the poor, they can insist that the poor pray to Jebus or else no food/clothing/shelter, etc. Think of all the people that could be helped if they were just forced to accept Christ as their savior...

The Catholic fundies on the forums at Catholic Answers are praying for the strength to endure the continued religious persecutions and attacks on their religious freedoms. And there's a thread calling for a return of the Papal States. One dude announced that he's had enough of secular, socialist 'Murica and is moving his family Costa Rica. And then someone informed him that Costa Rica has universal health care.

I'll have to check out Catholic Answers forum later on today. I have gotten some laughs from that forum in the past.

Interesting. So is that the real cause of the fundie butt-hurt reactions to anything socialized? Their brand of christianity is supposed to have the corner market on helping the poor and needy, and when the government helps, the church suffers a loss of power if people don't have to choose between submitting to the church and feeding their family? No wonder they want "small government." Small government probably equals big church. I never thought of it that way before, but it seems painfully obvious now.

I have always had such a hard time reconciling fundies' anti-socialism mantra with christianity's professed goal of helping the sick and poor. But that's it, isn't it? They want the power.

Crazy fundy cousin-in-law posted Revelation 6:11

Okay, riddle me this. If this is THE LAST ELECTION AND IT'S BEEN PROPHESIZED AND WE SAW THIS COMING!!!!!11!! then isn't that a good thing for these nutbags? Haven't they been waiting for this day? I mean, make your mind up, for real.

Also many profile pictures of the flag turned upside down and butthurt white men questioning their children growing up in this evil, socialist nation.

From my favorite Catholic fundy (she's only 16, I know I shouldn't be mean, but I think she is hilarious!):

That’s it:

I’m headed to the convent ASAP. I’ll be old enough in less than 2 years. Then I’ll ask Mother A. if I can be the first postulant to leave the motherhouse and start a new mission base in a different country.

I have a status update come up in my news feed, commented on by a friend of mine (who is not American, but doesnt like Obama as she thinks he is a Muslim, not American and evil, which doesnt suprise me as she believes every conspiracy site she reads without thinking but thinks of herself as sooo enlightened and open minded because she doesnt believe in what the government say), and the comments are hilarious. There are people saying they are frightened for their children, wanting to leave the country and move somewhere else as soon as possible and thinking that America will be completely destroyed. My crazy conspiracy theory friend is taking this very seriously, including telling people to illegally immigrate ("Pls note : do not sign out of the usa, do not emigrate officially, just go on vacation and not come back.") and even telling people they can come stay at her house.

Seriously.

These are some of the highlights of this crazy comment thread...

"Leave while you can. I have been telling people for a fewyears now to get the hell out of there and finally a few have come to the conclusion that I was right all along." (Four years ago she said that Obama would destroy the country and everyone needed to get out. He sure has done a crappy job of destroying America though, as the country is still there)

In reply to someone saying that they would have a hard time encouraging their family to move "Oh, Im sure sister, but itds a life and death situation...."

"Well, anyone with common sense that wants to avoid the comming civil war and live will be wanting to leave this country asap!"

Shes also derailed my status about it nearly being Christmas and who has started Christmas shopping yet, by trying to tell us the true meaning of Christmas...

This is from a Catholic SAHD, married at 19, three kids in four years:

but this one is the best, I think:

1. No one is forcing her to look at pictures of Michelle Obama.

2. Piggish? Really? Is that how the Catholic Church taught her to be charitable towards others? She might be interest in knowing that one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is kindness. From Chapter 1 (Dignity of the Human Person), Chapter 1 of the CCC:

1832 "The fruits of the Spirit are perfections that the Holy Spirit forms in us as the first fruits of eternal glory. The tradition of the Church lists twelve of them: "charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, chastity."

3. The Church does not require Catholic married couples of have squads of children in order to fight evil in the world. I'd be interested in knowing where she got this idea.

One thing I do not understand- why are so many blogs saying they need to start stockpiling, hoarding weapons and learn how to homestead/live off the land? Are they that freaked out that a black man was elected? Twice?! The mind, it reels.
