Thanks! Do you mind elaborating? (feel free to message me if this is going to turn into thread drift) I don't have any experience with C-sections and it looks like a regular hospital bed to me, so I'm just curious.

I certainly think it’s posisble she had a c-section, but I think she may have said that instead of “delivery” if so. I guess we’ll find out soon. I don’t see anything particularly telling on her bed set-up and the IV tower seems to have a cover on it which makes me think she isn’t currently hooked up.

The only real etymology I can find for Axton is that it might possibly be a combination of an Old English given name (Acca) and 'stone', so Acca's Stone. No idea what 'Acca' means, I can't find an etymology for it anywhere.

Almost 40 hours have passed and no mention of the new MaxGrand on the blog, just a filler about what Griselda Teri reads to her grandkids.

Just checked the blog post and she mentions that it was a pretty traumatic birth, but no further elaboration other than saying she'll give more details in the future and that it didn't go as planned. The part about it not going as planned could mean anything, as surely giving birth in the hospital wasn't planned at all. It's the part about it being traumatic that hints that something went wrong, sounds like it probably is something that resulted in a c-section, and potentially even Chelsy's/ Axton's lives being at risk. Not exactly sounding like a well monitored home birth, but then again with fundies it's far too easy to judge, especially based on the Duggar family experiences which are prolific here on FJ. Glad at least to hear both mother and child appear well.

Most websites seem to agree it means "Sword's stone" (see my comment on the bottom of page 14).

What a coincidence! Ax Maxwell is my 70s male porn star name.

I will see myself to the prayer closet.

I'm sorry to hear the birth was traumatic. I don't wish a hard birth on any woman. It can be really hard to recover physically and mentally from something like that. Hopefully she won't experience PPD.

Yeah, most websites are probably just using the same erroneous source. Someone probably equated 'ax' with 'sword' and decided 'sword stone' sounded cool. A lot of these baby names sites give totally made up meanings. Similar to how Tori and Bobby Bates Smith for some reason decided that Kade meant 'fourth'.

Most name websites are full of crap and make stuff up to sound cooler. Unless the etymology is explained, going back to the original language, don't trust the given meaning.

Maybe there will be an X in all her boy names. Jaxon, Knox, Braxton, Fox.

Alexander. Phoenix.

There were a few of early medieval Anglo Saxon bishops with the name Acca, including a Saint Acca. The meaning may be lost.

I think I win!!! I said Jan 26th and 7lbs8oz named Ethan John but he’s Axton John, born on the 26th, and 7lbs5oz.

(Ozlsn) Arthur Phillip Mahatma or Mahatma Phillip Arthur

                    Uriel James Mahatma Maxwell

                    Ariel Jeanne Beatrix  Maxwell

(JermajestyDuggar) Boy. Ethan John Maxwell. 7 lbs 8 ounces

Well, did anyone think she was having a girl? No surprise there. The delivery sounds rough. Axton Maxwell? The name is awkward and a mouthful to pronounce. I also wonder if he’ll be dubbed “AJ”? Glad that everyone is healthy!

Maybe Chelsy likes Hoyt Axton.  Can't say that Axton's a name I'd go for, but at least there's no form of Steven in the little guy's moniker.

I think they'll be figuring that out soon...not that it'll help.

That’s a lot of x’s in one name.

He'll go by AxMax.

I was having strong contractions that were completely unpredictable for 18 hours at home before I went to the hospital. It sucked but I kind of wanted to just be screaming and moaning at home. I’m so loud when I’m in pain, lol.

Same here - I labored for ~24 hours at home before going to the hospital.  DC#1 was born 12 hours later.

It’s as if they didn’t pronounce it a hundred times, like most expectant parents do, before they picked it. Poor kid-

Cass posted a picture of AxMax and he’s going to have those piercing eyes that we all predicted:

Like thick meconium during the birthing process? And I am not speculating on any medical condition of a minor. This is merely a play on poop!

I wonder if they pronounce it axe-ton or ash-ton? As in, Chelsy wanted to name him Ashton, but with a weird spelling.
