This guy got out of Qanon when they predicted that Trump would use a phrase as a proof, which turned out to be something that he uses regularly.

I've been coming across bits of info here and there that some Trumpers and Qs  who are specialists in some particular area realized it was all a house of cards when a prediction was made, a topic discussed, information laid out about their area of expertise that was wildly incorrect/total bullshit, and at that moment, they realized that the entire Q structure was just an epic fraud.

I keep forgetting it’s summer in Australia.

(It’s 12°F/-11°C right now where I am).

Yesterday we hit a peak of 105.8°F/41°C, and when the power went off the night before it was about 93°F/33°C at 9pm. It dropped to 73.8°F/26°C overnight fortunately.

Being Melbourne where I am though we had a cool change come through and are now back in the 60s°F for a day or two. Where I used to live we never got the changes, so it would sit in the 100°Fs and slowly drop over weeks. (That was a lot of weather talk to explain why the death squads would have had issues! Today they're probably bogged. Heh.)

I'm getting very concerned about Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert.  Both women are fanatics with a gun fetish. When I say fanatics, I mean that in the true, literal sense, obsessed with guns and Jesus. As one tweep noted, Lauren Boebert is Michelle Bachman with a gun and a kill list.

Taylor Greene is 100% QAnon; I don't  think Boebert is 100% QAnon...YET.

It concerns me that both were elected to be honest. Boebert I think got a section of essentially "pin up girl" vote, similar to why Kaitlinn Bennett has fans (and will likely lose them as she ages). Seriously, enough people voted for them despite them holding some quite bizarre views.

Apparently, Representatives are allowed to have guns in their offices but may not bring them into the Chamber.  Yesterday a male representative  tried to go through the magnetic screening station into the House chamber yesterday with a gun. WTF.  He knew it would set off the sensor. He tried to pawn it off the bag it was in on an aide, but the aide was heard to say, I don't have a permit and wouldn't take it.  DC laws about gun possession are incredibly strict.  At least the aide has two brain cells to rub together and some sense of self preservation.

I think any representatives doing this should be barred from the chamber for 24 hours for a first offence, with increasing penalties from there. Guns in offices should also be required to be appropriately stored, which means in safes, unloaded.

Also that aide needs to find a new job ASAP, what an arsehole of a boss.

One of the guys who wanted to kidnap Governor Whitmer has pleaded guilty

Quote

One of six men charged in an alleged plot to snatch Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has agreed to plead guilty to a kidnapping conspiracy.

A filing about the plea was made by prosecutors ahead of Ty Garbin's appearance Wednesday in federal court in Grand Rapids.

The plea agreement signed by Garbin indicates that he will "fully cooperate" with investigators.

There is no agreement on his sentencing guidelines.

Majorie Taylor Greene,  sweet Rufus in a breadbasket, this woman.  Today a  tiktok surfaced of her walking behind and harassing David Hogg as he was on his way to talk to a senator about gun violence weeks after the Parkland shooting.  This was prior to her being admitted to Congress.

She is profoundly horrible and an absolute and literal menace to Dems in Congress.

Wingnuts pleading out and turning state's evidence is going to put the kibosh on a lot of these loud-mouth wingnuts.  It's one thing for them to be keyboard warriors for the cause; but testicles are shrinking as I type when they read about Proud Boys, QAnons  and Oath Keepers being arrested and held in jail because they can't make bail or are considered a flight risk.  Some of them are being extracted from their homes and taken to DC to be charged.  With those charges come legal bills.  With those charges come public exposure and lost jobs and no way to hire good lawyers or even know how  to find a good lawyer who understands the issues.  With lost jobs + mounting legal bills come incredible stress for their families.

The ones who haven't been identified are probably not sleeping too well, as the FBI is using their best tech to identify every single asshat at the siege.  There has been a staggering amount of data collected from scraping social media where insurrectionists posted their vanity vids and stills.

So she is the Republican representative for her district? Did they have literally no one else else volunteering to stand? Who ran against her? How the hell was she elected?

As vile and unfathomable as it seems to us, there are some parts of the US who still love Trump. My Mom still sees Trump signs and flags in her part of Ohio. She was seen as a huge Trump supporter and a follower of QAnon, which is still believed by way too many people.

What testicles?  How could they shrink any more?

And here’s a stick of fuck in Florida who should never work in law enforcement again.

Quote

A police officer in Kissimmee, Florida, was fired recently after his racist and politically charged Facebook posts surfaced.

Andrew Johnson, a patrol officer for the Kissimmee Police Department, shared and created several derogatory posts on his page. His news feed was a vortex of pro-Trump conspiracy claims that opposed the Democratic Party, Black Lives Matter movement and antifa. Amid the offensive bluster were thinly veiled threats of violence from the “silent majority,” according to screenshots of his Facebook activity provided to Atlanta Black Star.

Johnson’s woes began on Jan. 12 when an anonymous person forwarded screenshots from 30 of his Facebook posts to the police department’s Internal Affairs unit.

The whistleblower called Johnson “a very big problem” and told police officials he was an avid supporter of the Capitol riots in Washington.

Since it’s in his one year probation period he can’t appeal the dismissal. But it raises the question why they hired this Fuckmuppet in the first place.

Votes for her were in the 200,000 range; her Democratic opponent received around 70,000.  Democrats could of run Jesus (2nd coming) as her opponent and he would have lost.

I was in rural Central Texas in early January and saw quite a few Trump flags here and there, at ranch gates and in front of people's houses.

I also noted a bunch of Trump signs in the back of a pick up truck, like someone had pulled up all of theirs and stacked them neatly, because they had some connection to reality and accepted that Trump had lost.

Last night, I noticed that the VICE channel had on a three-parter about Qanon and was able to watch most of it.  It might be available online or on demand.  What I found striking is that there are so many of them.  Once it migrated beyond 4chan and 8chan and got onto Facebook, it picked up the baby boomer contingent and went crazy.  The investigators think at least 10%-13% of the population now believes Q.

As to the identity of Q -- they're still not sure.  It appears that Flynn has been affiliated with Q for a lot longer than we thought and that's bad.  If it started out with LARPers (live action role play) that's one thing.  If someone did it with political motivations, that's another.  That's actively trying to turn a segment of the population towards one's own ends.

There are several names that keep popping up around the Q phenomenon but none will go on the record as being Q or knowing who Q really is.  One interesting thing was that they discovered that Flynn started a company back in the summer of 2017 (which was right before the Q drops started) and the logo was "Q".

I didn't know the following and thought others might not as well -- the Q data drops are referred to as "crumbs",  Sometimes it's just series of numbers.  There are people who take these crumbs and search for info and post what they think the crumbs mean.  They're referred to as "bakers".  Hardcore Qanon people believe that children are being tortured and killed so Democrats and Hollywood people can drink their blood or use their blood to make "adrenochrome".  They think this is taken by people who participate in devil worshiping.  Adrenochrome is an actual drug that is, I think, used in the treatment of clotting disorders but has been mentioned in rock songs and horror movies so that's where Q found it to use in his conspiracy plot.

In terms of Q, I'm certain there is a Russian element, either as the actual instigators or amplifying through social media troll farms.

I was gobsmacked to learn that besides Flynn and his nasty-little-piece-of-shit sprog Mikey Jr., there is a Flynn brother (Charles) who is an Army general and was one of those on the line listening to the call for help  as the Capitol Building was overrun.  The Army initially denied this, but nobody seems to have sorted out his actual role, why the Army pretended he wasn't there,  and if he is Q compromised like his nasty-piece-of-shit brother Mike.

Also, there is zero doubt in my mind that Mike Flynn is in some way compromised by or actually aligned with Russia.

Here in NC the Trump signs JUST got taken down by a house I pass on the way to work every morning. There's another house I sometimes pass that still has a huge professionally printed "TRUMP 2020: Rebuild America!" banner out front. I want to ask them why we have to rebuild it, and who it was who spent the last 4 years dismantling it.

They're crazy, though. When agent orange first started running for president, they had a normal yard sign out in front of their house. Someone stole it (or it got removed for being in the right-of-way on the major road that's been under construction there for half a decade...) so they first put up a nasty note in homemade banner form, then built a privacy fence for the sole purpose of painting "TRUMP 2020" on it in huge letters.

There's another house I try to avoid passing if I possibly can, but I'm sure they still have up their Trump stuff. They didn't take down their "Impeach Obozo" banner until they had something nasty to say about Biden to replace it. They have huge flagpoles installed in front of their house, one of which flies a giant confederate flag. Just imagine the rural home of a KKK grand wizard and you'll probably have a pretty good idea of what their house looks like.

There are a suprising number of people in this country who are stupid, mean, racist, ignorant, evil, psycopathic and/or deluded - and many are a combination of those things. And, unfortunately, they vote.

They're not the majority, but they think they are. And systems are set up in this country to benefit them (see: electoral college, 2016) which encourages their delusion that they are the "silent majority".

I agree. If this didn't start as disinformation it's certainly been picked up and used that way.

The weirdest part for me is the wellness segment that have been incorporated. There have been some really interesting articles about it, but it still seems so bizarre to have yoga teachers referring to Trump as a "light worker", FFS.

Yeah I ended up looking up her electoral results as well. If she were running as a Q Anon independent against a (hopefully at least vaguely mainstream) Republican candidate I wonder if she would still win, or split the vote or what - how many are voting R, because that's who they identify with, and how many are voting Q for that reason. It'd be interesting to look at the voter switching in that area, to get an idea of how much has changed.

I'n not sure how MTG ended up as the Republican candidate, but in Colorado, Boebert primaried a normal Republican candidate with many years in office. That Boebert and MTG were elected should be a huge concern for the future of our country.  You can be sure that in the next election cycle two years away, more wing nuts will be throwing their hats in the ring to run for office.

So, I had an epiphany of sorts this morning.  As we are looking at the likelihood that Trump will not be convicted, that all but a few Republicans REFUSED to remove MTG from her committees, with handwringing from the MSM over bipartisanship,  it occurred to me that there are many (most?) Republicans -- and the constituents who voted for them -- who no longer have an interest in maintaining a Democracy, none

They got a taste of authoritarianism and the power that it promises and will stop at nothing to get it.

The Christo-fascists want the Christo Fascism agenda (reich wing judges, LGBTQ stripped of all rights, Roe v Wade overturned, etc.) and the Koch/Alec people want unbridled freedom and total deregulation for corporate interests to do as they like.  These were in reach during the Trump admin, and they will work without ceasing to manifest this in the years ahead.

For this reason, the gaslighting and propaganda will continue unabated.  QAnon will be tolerated or even elevated, as long as Qs can be manipulated as useful tools to vote against Democrats, with the ultimate goal of a "Qepublican" president/House/Senate to totally dismantle all democratic safeguards.

@Howl I hope you're wrong, but I really wonder - they can't all be this scared of the Orange Menace, so who is it they are actually afraid of, or what else could they possibly want?  If the Senate vote was a secret ballot would Trump be impeached, and if so who would they find to replace him with? And who in this case is 'they' exactly?

I hope the Biden administration does a lot of  work to shore up American democracy, because it is obviously under major threat right now, and that appears to be being pushed by a very small, very wealthy group to further their own interests at the expense of literally everyone else.

This is the single most important question of all. If you want to save democracy, you have to expose who is pulling the strings... and how. Are politicians being blackmailed, and if so, with what? What is it that made literally  hundreds of politicians do a complete one-eighty on all of their values, all within a few years?

The why is pretty clear, and @Howl worded it well:
