Lying liars!  There is footage of Josie on Josh's lap and Josie on non-family members laps.  Do they even realize they are lying?

For the announcement of new season, go to the Jinger is Courting thread. It said in the courtship announcement that a new season would premiere this summer.

This is going to be Jinger's season so they had to remove Jill and Jessa from the title.

Jill really wasn't in the last season enough to justify the title. "Counting On: Twenty ways to boost Jessa's ego and a bit about her siblings" would have been a better title.

To be fair I have been preoccupied what with DCC and being all hyped for new Race to the edge. 

They even took Counting On off the On demand for TLC.  Odin, I sure hope this season one of the girls can start community college considering none are getting married.

Jinger is courting

Does anyone else think more courtships will be annouced? The first season asked Jana, Jinger, JD and uh Joy about courtships in every single episode.

Well, definitely less interest in the Duggars as I heard it here first and not some trending topic anywhere.  It's hard to be disappointed though because Jinger has got such a better man than any of the others (Michelle and Anna included).  Renewed hope that one might get out under JimBob.

Very busy at work so trying to avoid getting caught up in FJ but will someone please tell me, is Jinger's man a city boy? Is he going to whisk her off to a decent sized city full of Cafes where she can shop, socialise and inhale coffee? Something more than 'being near a Walmart'?

I was suprised that they focuse so much of the courtship talk on Joy. Shes 18? . A couple of weeks ago TLC released some unaired footage of JD talking about courtship. In the clip Jinger said something about being the only one who knows if JD  has a girlfriend or whatever.

I really hope the next courtship is a Duggar boy. I'm curious about how the courtship dynamic will work if it's a Duggar boy. JB won't be so protective or potentially controlling, but he probably also won't be providing the new couple with a house and whatnot. Or maybe he will, I guess he did for Josh. 

I also think a JD courtship in particular would be just hilarious in its awkwardness.

I get the impression that he didn't "quit" soccer so much as wasn't good enough to be professional (Peter Principle at work) and recouped some of his pride by claiming that he quit for Jesus, but really he was getting drummed out and being a homophobic preacher who hangs out with DJ Flonase was the fallback career option. I don't think David Beckham would know him from Adam.

If the boys court, there will be no grilling of the girl's ability to provide. Just that she's willing to cook, clean, have kids, and worship JB as the ultimate god. It would be interesting to see the next girl after Anna.

That's the impression I got from googling him. Very few can make it as a pro.

Well I've always gotten that impression from fundies. They pay lip service to the whole "not losing a daughter, gaining a son" thing but they're in hysterics when a girl gets married. She is leaving the umbrella of her father's protection for a new family, changing her name, moving and doing whatever her husband dictates. Not so with sons. 

I mean it makes no sense to me, but that seems to be how they view it.

This probably all has to do with the umbrella of protection crap. New wives' direct headship is the husband, but the husband's headship is still the father, aka Jim Bob. Except in Duggarland, it seems that there's never a true transfer of headship and Jim Bob is always running the show.
