Cloth pads have come a lonnnnng way. They have snaps that keep them in place. I keep em in a basket under the sink and then wash them in the washer on hot. You can presoak if want and scrub the stains, I don’t personally. here is a photo of what modern momma cloth looks like. you can get any fabric you can imagine. all mine are owl themed. I haven’t found them to be any harder to use then disposables. I carry a small wet bag for cloth diapers if I am going out to bring any used ones home in.

If you keep a bar of plain soap around, such as Ivory (extra hotel soaps you may have saved from vacations and other trips are also great for this), you can wash out cloth pads by scrubbing the pad with bar soap under cold water when the stains are still fresh. Just keep scrubbing until all the blood rinses out, give a final scrub and rinse in hot water to kill all the germs, and then air dry.

Yup. I'm a cloth pad convert too! Regular pads just felt awful and plasticy on my skin and would sometimes irritate my skin, in addition to malfunctioning wings making for some messy struggles. Cloth pads snap to secure, and I just soak them in cold water for a few hours before throwing them in the wash. I've heard some companies are making period panties with built in pads or places to attach cloth pads. They are on my wish list!

I just use oxyclean to remove the stains. Soak them overnight in and oxyclean solution and wash them the next day.

I've tried a Diva Cup but didn't like it.... it felt really uncomfortable. I'm not sure whether I wasn't putting it in right or it wasn't the right size for me, but I gave it up pretty quickly.

Went over to cloth pads, (Glad Rags) which work so much better for me. When I first got them, I did the soaking in cold water first, then washing by hand... but I got lazy pretty quickly. I just toss them in the washer at this point... a little bit of staining doesn't really bother me.

So here we are, discussing sanitary pads and other menstrual supplies. Over in the Free Anna thread, the topic was diapers and baby puke. Cute bear pajamas and baby puke also featured in the Jessa thread.

I am wondering which thread will drift to bras and girdles, which will go into potty training, and whether someone will drift into adult incontinence or podiatrists. :?

It seems the Duggars are being too quiet lately.

Eta reference to Jessa thread.

Oxy Clean works really well. I've also had good luck with using hydrogen peroxide (dissolves old blood stains), and soaking in super washing soda.

for those that use cloth pads, dumb question but do you still wear it for like 2-4 hours and then change? or are you okay to use them all day and then change? I'm so intrigued now!

On my heaviest days, I'll change midday and then once again at night. (So, three pads in 24 hours.) On the lighter days, I use one during the day and one at night.

the Duggars have been active on FB, posting pics of hay the boys baled today. In the comments, The unnamed Dugger says they also have cows. Have we heard of this before? I thought their previous attempts to have a Duggar farm or even vegetable garden fizzled out?

Snipped

Jill did post this zucchini photo a year ago giving a ~shout out~ to the family garden, plus I remember some verbage somewhere (the books?) about Jana loving to work outside in the garden/flowerbed. No clue why someone doesn't help out that sad front yard though, ha

Sorry, but can anyone direct me to which thread (if there is one) where Michelle's passive aggressive "new" blog post is being discussed? I've searched everywhere and I must be missing it. Thnx!

Thanks but I actually meant which thread that her blog post is being discussed HERE? Where its being discussed on FJ? Has it even been brought up yet?

I'm furious for Anna. This was a thinly veiled accusation at Anna hidden behind a "helpful" but gross blog post. Ick.

I don't think it has been discussed but I'm not sure. It does seem like it might be a dig at Anna and that wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure that J'chelle is going to use guilt and any means necessary to keep Anna from even thinking about leaving Josh.

Since everything is always the woman's fault everything is a dig at Anna. I wonder if Anna's "faith" in her religion is holding her together? Does she get comfort for blaming herself and then praying for forgiveness? Such a weird and strange world they live in. I think Anna is a fine person who has been totally brainwashed by this cult and does take excellent care of her children. Josh, of course, is just an ass. As are his parents.

I agree it is a very passive aggressive dig right at Anna. If she had been "better" at servicing her pig of a husband then he would have felt no need to stray. That alleviates all blame or finger pointing at JB and Green Shirt that they raised a poorly civilized son. It certainly can not be their fault??

There is no way Anna could ever have provided for the pigs warped needs. He was already into younger girls and porn. She was raised to be a dutiful wife and I am sure tried her very best to be attentive at all times no matter how tired she was but it would have never fulfilled the pigs needs or wants. I wonder if he ever found the poor girl attractive or was it just a way to the "end" so to speak. She is the only person who probably really cared about him and he treated her like a doormat.

The Duggars are not ever going to admit that they sold Anna a "damaged bill of goods" in Josh. In their warped minds they did all they needed to and all is ok with the world.

There's not a whole lot for me to say about that blog other than it's totally fucked up beyond words.

It HAS to be a dig at Anna, the same way Jill posting that sermon was. I'm pretty sure that she has posted that type of post before, and reposting it now makes no sense now otherwise.

It's probably their way of making Anna feel horrible about herself so she will stay with that pig Josh! If they had one bit of compassion in their bodies, they wouldn't shame her but Josh and themselves for failing him and for raising that excuse for a human being. He should have had respect for Anna and not be going around looking for sleazy affairs. Shame on you Michelle for shaming your DIL, it's not her fault; it's yours!

Yep, the blog post was absolutely sickening and definitely pointed at Anna. I truly hope that Anna and Josh will both leave some day (whether separately or together) and get themselves and their kids some actual help.

I can't believe how utterly shameless Jim Bob & Michelle are. Just when you think these people couldn't get any more disgusting, they find a way...

Now time to catch up on my FJ reading as I've been too sick to even web browse the past few days...

Per Michelle's words:

"While I am always joyfully available for him (Jim Bob), in turn, he’ll lay down his life in any way. He will sit there and listen to everything I need to tell him because he knows that I’m there for him, too. I’m meeting his needs, he’s meeting my needs."

The way this is worded in particular really troubles me. Michelle seems to be stating directly that if Anna had been happier about making herself sexually available whenever Josh asked for it, then his treatment of Anna as a husband would have been reflection of his level of sexual satisfaction. "See, if you jump when he says how high, and do whatever he wants in bed with a big smile on your face, he'll be glad to lay down his life for you and be the perfect husband! If you are unavailable in any way, if you don't feel like having sex or are depressed, why, then you'll just have to blame yourself when he turns to prostitutes and isn't around!" :naughty:

I don't suppose it ever occurred to Michelle that sometimes in life, no matter how hard you try and how well you treat certain people, it has no impact on them and they will treat you badly in return.

Lots of people dont like the Diva Cup, i think because it is longer than a lot of other cups. I'm actually friends with the founder/owner of Glad Rags. It's always awkward when it comes up because they are by far my least fave cloth pads I've ever used (when I got started, I bought a pad or two each from 4 different makers, one being Glad Rags because my workplace sold them). They are the only ones that have leaked around the interior pad right onto my undies, and I never found them very comfy. But I still just smile and nod when the topic comes up.
