At first I was very concerned when I saw Sarah's new look, I was afraid she might be depressed. However, if you look at what she was wearing the previous posts the outfits are more normal (for her.) Slightly form-fitting, a bit more stylish in color combinations and shapes. Maybe this was just vacation-whatever-casual-stuff-that-isn't-dirty. It's a bad look but perhaps she usually pairs the top with a better skirt and maybe a belt.

I noticed Anna is very fond of her turquoise top. She wore it while prepping for the trip and at the elderly pie night.

Yes, totally poor Sarah. I haven't been reading this particular thread, but when I checked out their blog today the first thing that came to mind was Sarah's unfortunate outfit, and see that it's been discussed here. Poor, poor Sarah.

Sarah's wearing a Jawbone (fitness tracker bracelet). I have a Fitbit, which I find helpful for tracking my activity and motivating me to do more. What do you want to bet that in Sarah's case, though, it's Steve that's checking her activity reports and literally monitoring her every movement.

I just had a thread in AYTFJ asking for input in choosing a fitness tracker. Lots of folks responded back that they are pleased Fitbit users, and I ordered one. It should arrive tomorrow. I'm so excited!

The Maxwells seem to be quite into fitness and I'm sure Sarah is interested in her results. Hopefully Steve is supportive but not overbearing about it. Wait, who am I kidding? :roll:

I wasn't around yet for the Maxwells when they had Honey (their previous dog). I guess they've finally decided that we won't be traveling as much anymore and won't have to get petsitters?

I think the photo was taken at their friends' house - the people they stayed with during their trip.

I don't get the quotes under the pics of the dogs. It says something about resting two and working one. But the scripture is about slothfulness. Or did I read it wrong?

I know people looked like that.... It's amazing what people considered "cool" and fashionable back then. Of course, it was cool at the time, but now...

Steve and Teri WERE relatively normal back then. They weren't saved till a couple of years AFTER that photo.

I took it to mean rest for two (the dogs) and work for one (Jesse on his laptop in the background). Jesse is possibly not being slothful, but being fervent in spirit while working for the Lord - judging by their quote "Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.†Romans 12:11

I looked up the hosts of the South Carolina conference, and I think it is the same family they are staying with. If so, the family modesty and fun "standards" don't seem to be anything like Maxwell standards. But maybe that doesn't matter if a wealthy family can provide a week's free lodging. :roll:

I love that the host family kids have plates loaded with burgers and potatoes, and the Maxgirls have taken large bowls of salad. It must be killing Steve to suck up someone else's house rules, for the sake of getting a free ride.

The SC conference is taking place at ultimatelifeministries.com/index-2.html which has its own Christian school campus, and all the usual non-isolationist ministries including KIDZ Club and Counseling Center. The church is also co-pastored by a husband and wife team. :P
