I absolutely think he was trying to get help, especially if he couldn't control himself at all around young girls, which seems to be the case. We know his parents were mostly concerned with sweeping it all under the carpet.

I can’t imagine Anna didn’t know josh was in a courtship before. We’ve known it for years. And they ran in the same fundie circles.  I’m sure it was part of his ‘testimony’ for Jesus, a repercussion for his actions.

I got so angry when I read that. What could he be saying to her? I doubt it's a sincere apology. He's probably trying to convince her that Bobye is lying or exaggerating, that he was just a curious kid and the devil make him do it. I don't understand how Austin just doesn't punch him if the face.

He also might have been “ok” in the sense of them all thinking the Jesus punishment worked. But then it didn’t and he felt himself slipping. It’s also possible, I think, that maybe it really was the first time he fully confessed and anyone but him knew the full extent of his crimes. Kind of like an addict white knuckling it and relapsing/fearing relapse.

The he's a mac guy defense is so pathetic. As others has said, Windows isn't that different. And for the record Ubuntu (I haven't seen anyone mention what distro he used but I feel very confident it was Ubuntu) isn't much different either. It's a bit  more DIY than mac or windows, but there are very easy to follow instructions online for getting it setup.

It's a bananas defense. Anybody on the jury who has even used a computer should be able to see right through it. I mean, most public computers (like, libraries) generally are Windows machines and it's not like it becomes a foreign object. The worst thing is switching between the keyboards because of slightly different spacing.

Also, if he's that much of a Mac guy, why purchase a Windows machine for his business? It doesn't make sense. Josh can use specialized sales software on a Windows machine but he's a Mac guy, and too stupid to use a Window's machine, except for when he sells cars on the Dark Web, a place known for being a great place to buy cars, according to the Defense.

I suggested this a few threads back. I do think he confessed to Bobye because he knew her well and realised somewhere deep down in his murky dark soul that he needed help.  Sadly no proper help was ever given.

Macs are different enough if you want to join them to Window's network domains and they don't play nice with a lot of applications for business like some CRMs, ERPs, etc.  But for individual usage like this it's a ridiculous argument.  It's like claiming you don't know anything about wearing Vans because you're a Converse person.  Prosecution better correct this properly.

Where are you seeing anything that contradicts the prosecution? Per The Sun, so far she's just said that she looked at devices, that the HP was partitioned, and that she found no CSAM on the Mac devices or the Windows side of the HP, none of which is news. She didn't mention adult porn, which *has* reportedly been found on the Macs, at all, only a lack of CSAM. To my knowledge, none of that contradicts the prosecution's argument. Are you seeing anything else about her testimony?

Department store employee here! Calvin klein isn't super prestigious. Very coupon and discount friendly. If youre shopping the clearance section you can find deals. I got a $165 Ralph lauren dress for a banquet for $50.

Now if she showed up in YSL I'd be impressed

The fact that she said the Mac contained no CSA images. Just realised that of course Josh only used the partitioned side of the Windows for his depravity  and not the Mac. That will teach me to watch the trial blog, post here, and do my assignment at the same time.

That's the way I read it too.  The defense sent an investigator so perhaps it was the investigator that offered $$ to talk.  Or as someone else mentioned, maybe some reporter was offering money to spill the beans.

On one hand, yes, that’s disturbing.

On the other hand, they did tell JB to report it to the police and he told them he did. They apparently took him at his word and assumed the police handled it however they wanted it handled (they most likely never followed up on the when, who, what steps were taken, etc.).
