Jed Duggar has (apparently quite recently) rented or bought a house in District 89 (Springdale).  This is to establish residence so that he can run for Arkansas State Representative against a democratic incumbent in that district.  The Duggar TTH is in Tontitown and a different district. 

So the boy has moved out of the dorm officially.

It's all a bit fishy because I think he has to have been a resident for a year to run for office in the district.  But then what isn't fishy about the Duggars.

Pass me some popcorn for the rest.

In reading the TMZ article I'm going to point out that it doesn't say Josh owns the car lot, but that he is employed there.  Also that they were 'at' which is not the same as a raid.

According to AR SoS website, Josh doesn’t appear anywhere in the business listing for Champion Motorcars. Jed and James are officers, however. 

Interesting...their tax preparer, Jimmy Burns, is the registered agent of the company.

The Crystal Ball lady who first reported the rumors is saying child abuse images (someone also said pornography?) of multiple children under age 15 with international distribution and an arrest within the month. 

 

No idea if it comes from a reliable source but maybe that was her initial tip?

Neighbors are speculating that the compound was unusually quiet over the weekend. Others are parsing Michelle’s last Instagram post with Gideon, where she says “getting back into the swing of things” indicates something amiss.

 

Those seem kind of weak, but I’m wondering if this is why Dillard’s left town last weekend?

I have quite a few gun nut, milita types in my life, and J.B. has never rung that bell for me. He doesn't seem overly paranoid or violent, no military experience, and he doesn't have any of the home decor or use the slang that typically serves as a shibboleth for that sort of thing. 

He's not even much of a gun nut compared to your average conservative/libertarian dude. He's an average dude at most gun shows/ranges. I know guys who open carry everywhere they go, exclusively wear pseudo-military style clothing, and spend most weekends at gun ranges. 

Anyway, now that I've thoroughly freaked everyone out, back to the weirdass Duggars...

I wonder this too, but I think their statement would read differently if that was the case...or if they were being interviewed for an investigation into someone else....unless they are Josh’s victims somehow?

Ha! I agree!

I also think if there is an official investigation they wouldn’t want to jeapordize it. In my opinion, either  the individual quoted is loving their moment if fame or there is something that will be revealed later. Otherwise why not say “no comment” or “it was a routine check” or something bland?

My first thought when I read that the FBI (do I have the right agency) was at the car lot, was the movie Fargo, where Jerry the inept son-in-law has been providing false vehicle ID's in a money scam and it catches up to him.

They have to be somewhat vague for legal reasons. Criminal cases have been lost by HSI and FBI for revealing too much to the wrong person. Reporters have to be careful too. Calling someone a suspect when they are being questioned or are possibly a witness can get you sued. It's one of the downfalls of modern social media, as reporters are now told to write a story, tweet it, and post it everywhere at least twice in a typical day. It leaves less time for confirmation, multiple sources, etc.

With the game of semantics the Duggars are playing with their statement, I don't think even they would be dumb enough to play ignorant to things if the kids had been removed. Plus a reporter would have picked up on the presence of child services or a similar agency being involved by now. That would be hard to hide if news crews are staking out the compound.

From what I've heard, the Without a Crystal Ball Lady isn't particularly reliable. That doesn't mean she's necessarily wrong this time, just that you should probably take whatever she says with a huge grain of salt.

As much as I want the Duggars to be brought down, I hope this is something relatively mundane, like them accidentally selling stolen cars, or one of their employees committing financial crimes. Obviously we all hope that this has nothing whatsoever to do with children or any other vulnerable people, and that whatever is being investigated is as victimless a crime as possible.

Yes, I think we all just want the truth to come out, whatever that may be. I’m not ghoulish enough to hope for it sexual crimes of any kind, I just hope for justice.

@rebeccawriter01 But we’d still be relying on a reporter to pick up on CPS presence AND to write about it, potentially without getting confirmation from a reliable source. Is CPS even allowed to disclose that kind of information during an investigation? I’m not in that line of work but I know from following the Nauglers that CPS isn’t allowed to say much.  If something like that were to happen, we probably wouldn’t hear about it in real time.

Again, I am NOT saying this is what’s happened. Hopefully not! My point is we know way too little to rule anything out. I think the speculation of financial crimes of some kind is just as likely. 
 

Or, here’s an angle I haven’t seen anyone speculate on yet: Ties to white supremacy orgs? There’s been a little more interest in taking domestic terrorism seriously lately. What if someone in the family has been dabbling in some dangerous talk online? Josh had his whole life blown to pieces by the media. That probably left him feeling pretty angry and resentful. Downtrodden white guys get sucked into right wing hate groups so easily.
