Evolution takes thousands years. It is not something that happens in a couple generations. In addition, your theory only can work if fundie girls with poor hair remain single or childless for centuries.

And well, fundie Bates and Duggars are young. I had a beautiful, thick, healthy hair when I was 20. Now I'm 41 and I have poor, thin hair. My mom and my grandma had the same process. I use expensive products to improve hair quality, but it's difficult, since genetics are playing hard.

Same here, genetics and hair falling out After children.

A girlfriend  put me on to l reuteri pro biotics. It took 3 months of continued use to notice a difference. I don’t know if I have more hair, or it has made what I do have, thicker.  I definitely look like I have more hair.  On a side note she swears her orgasms are better.   :martinismiley:  We are in our early 50’s so menopausal as well.

I was thinking about Ben and what he does for a living recently, why on Earth does this kid still work for JB? Why couldn't he go back to the jobs (or fields) he had when courting Jessa to make money instead of being an errand boy. I know we don't hear from them often and he had some affiliation with another church at some point. But it seems kind of ridiculous that he could be doing something else while Boob's sons run his errands.

I'm a little fuzzy on what Ben has done in the past few years... But I think part of the issue there is that Ben was, what, 19 when he married Jessa, and 17 when they met? So I don't think he really had time before getting involved with Jessa to build much experience with a job. And if I remember right, before marrying Jessa when Ben lived at some adjacent Duggar property to be closer to her, he was working for JB at that time too. So I don't know what other skills or field he'd really have to go back to. I know he went to community college, is his ultimate goal still "ministry?"

This has been posited on FJ as truth so many times, but there has never been any proof that he still works for JB.

They get so much crap for not supporting themselves so it feels like they would tell people if he did something else.

None of them (other than Jeremy and Austin) have ever said where they work/what they do. They're very close-mouthed about their source of income.

I take silence as confirmation tbh. I feel like Jessa would be savvy enough to work her husband's profession into her IG somehow because it makes them more independent.

I take silence from others as more confirmation than silence from the Duggars. A lot of companies don't advertise and don't want to any celebrities employment with them after the debacles that have happened (hullo Subway). I also remember vaguely reading somewhere that Walmart had to resource scramble PR and legal wise when the Josh information was breaking. Heck, look at Geoffrey Owens and how he's had to step out of his job at Trader Joe's since a shopper recognized him and shared it.

If Ben had something public facing, I assume it would have come out. If he's still in school and working for JB, that's fine. He could also be working with his family or a small, private Christian business who protects his privacy. We just don't know and they've chosen not to share that portion of their family narrative. Jessa focuses her social media very much around family, around the cuteness of her children, probably in large part because it sells better than whatever Ben is up to. They were a lot more vocal about their beliefs when they were younger and chose to step out of that as the main narrative. After seeing Derick get his family kicked off the show I imagine they want to preserve it even more since the shift of Jessa being even more central to it is likely key to their income.

Jeremy's goal is different, he is on the show to get somewhere else, not to have it be his central spot in the limelight. How that works out for him, we'll see, but it's now acceptable to be open about your hatreds, especially if you use a lot of big words in nonsensical word salad to try and make it sound reasonable.

Many companies wouldn't want to be that closely associated with employees private lives. I'm not allow to have where I work on any social media accounts for exsample. It's a PR issue, they want to control what their online presence looks like.

Jeremy is using the show to try and grow his congregation. Austin is pretty much self employed and it's just house flipping it's not like he needs to protect an image. Plus they had to justify them getting married.

Where do you buy this?  I wouldn't mind trying it, my hair is kind of thinning out.  I am 64.

Ben had an internship at a church, didn't he? I don't think we know much about what he's doing beyond that. In the grumpy Henry instagram video, he's dressed up and it's early in the morning. I don't know where he is going or what he is doing; but it appears to be something.

You should be able to get them at your local health food store. I can buy them at the grocery I most often shop at, but they have a pretty extensive “granola” section. At my store, they’re with the refrigerated probiotics.

The hair falling out over time for women is called 'Female Pattern Baldness', it is characterised by a thinning of the hair rather than the bald patches that men have.  I have been diagnosed with this (I went to the doc as about 1/2 my hair fell out at one point in a month and had a scalp biopsy to test for Alopecia).  So I fully expect to have thin hair when I am an old lady (e.g. my mum used to have very thick hair, however it is now very thin), and I think is now thinner than it used to be.

"Ben is an online student of Ministry at Moody Bible Institute, and an intern at Harvard Avenue Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, AR."
That was Ben's bio on a speaking engagement he did last year.

The internship was for a year so It should be long over by now. Not sure if he is still in school if he is, he should be graduating soon.

So Jessa has been posting about Rhea Lana's consignment over the past two days. I wonder under which pre-sale ticket she used to shop yesterday afternoon? I assume consigner, unless she is pregnant again. She and Jana were shopping. (Jessa made some IG stories about it both yesterday and today).

I always wondered if Ben was still doing work for the Duggar’s property empire or if he started a new path. I’ve seen him dressed up on various occasions so it looks like he’s apart of something. IMO, he’s the most decent Duggar son in law.

@meowfundiecatz Was Jana with Jessa shopping? I don’t think I saw her in the pic

Except you don't need to name your employer to describe what you do for a living. In fact most people will say "I am a lawyer" or "I work in HR" or "I'm an IT specialist" or "I'm a physiotherapist" or "I work in accounts receivable/billing/accounting for a construction company" etc.

If Ben had any sort of gainful employment that wasn't related to JB, you can bet that Jessa would be all over it on Instagram. She seems hyperaware of people questioning how they afford things (children are dressed fairly trendy, expensive groceries, eating out) to the point where she's gone out repeatedly to explain that she buys used clothes for the boys. If Ben had a solid job, we'd allllll know about it by now.

Even so, it's hard to pass judgment as we just don't know. What we do know is that most of the Duggars appear to be exceptionally lazy. John David and Jana being clear exceptions. But Josh? Useless. Joe and Josiah? Doing something for JB at the car lot? Also not much use out of them. Half of the howlers are now 18+ and as far as we know, none are productively doing much of anything at all. The adult women are harder to judge as they were never given any opportunity but even so it's astounding at how poorly they do domestic tasks. This is the most surprising thing of all to me given that as much as we rag on JB and Michelle (deservedly so), they really did have a work ethic when they started out and they invested wisely. But the kids are all off the rails when it comes to being productive.

If I had hired Ben to work for me, I would specifically ask him NOT to tell people where he worked.  People in the public eye attract a lot of crazies and I wouldn't want any Becky's or haters showing up to the job site, or putting notes on company social media.

I just find it interesting that it's so accepted here that he is working for JB, when there is no indication at all of where he works.

I could swear that back when he was courting or before he was courting Jessa he worked doing something with windshields...... replacing them or doing crack repair.  Did I hallucinate that fact?  I could see that skill being valuable in the "car lots" they have.  That could even be a business that could support a family, but we've seen nothing to show that he is still doing that.

I truthfully don’t get why people think working for the Duggar properties / business holdings would be a bad thing ? They own roughly 300 properties, including commercial ventures like the car lots. I’ve known people who live, fairly well, off off running a few rentals. It does require some effort though- managing tenants, collecting rents, resolving disputes, repairs, landscaping, maintenance, paying the bills, etc.etc...

If they also renovate, manage, landscape, repair, flip, sell the real estate themselves, have a TV show, do that social media influencer thing ( I know a few late 20’s / early 30 somethings who do pretty well with this- and they are just regular people ) - That adds up to a lot of jobs and income streams. And since they own all that property, and a car lot, two of the biggest life expenses are very, very low.

I get there are tons of reasons to hate them - but don’t get why not having a traditional 9-5 job with an outside employer is one of them.

I get veggie sushi at Wegmans, and I LOVE IT. Also a hidden gem in Lockport, NY, called ‘Steak Stone and Sushi’. My omnivore can get his meat fix, but they usually have 2-3 vegan options on the menu, too.

Win/win for us.

There’s a really good sushi place in St Catherine’s Ontario, but can’t recall the name, offhand.

LOVE me some Steak Stone.  There's one in the Fall by the Outlets now but I haven't tried it yet.  Also their fried rice is like crack.  I don't know why it's so much better than it is anywhere else but it is.  Samurai in East Amherst is awesome too.

We've been sushi drifting for awhile now and it has my pregnant butt craving it!
