While I don't think Josh would be able to get a job as an escort or a stripper, there are probably some Duggar groupies who might be interested in him (I think these were the women he was cheating with, though I obviously have no proof of this). Even if you have Z-grade fame, there's always some people who are dumb enough and desperate enough to be attracted to that. The vast majority of affairs happen between average looking people cheating on their average looking spouse with a different average looking person, so if Josh just wants sex, he won't have trouble finding it. Anna acts dumb on purpose, because she was deliberately raised to not have any critical thinking skills or to question her headship, so I think it would be easy for Josh to fool her into complacency.

Me too, without a doubt. However, I don't even think Josh has the balls to pull a Jon Gosselin and just make a clean break of it. I think like most entitled, self-absorbed people, he wants to have his cake and eat it too. So he wants the doting wife and kids and all the perks of his Fundamentalist life, while also being able to go out and explore, ahem, all of his proclivities.

He also seems like someone who is very impulsive as well as compulsive. So he'll keep messing around with sex workers, going to strip clubs, and/or experimenting with drugs (I can see this as the thrill of certain verboten sex acts wears off) until his parents or TLC or whoever drag him out of there or completely cut him off.

Any concrete decisions will have to be made by someone else. I don't think Josh sees past tomorrow his next erection.

I agree with you.  Josh has been and always will be a selfish asshole.  As I get older (and older and older) I have found that people only become more of what they are as they age.  Buckle your seat belt, Anna.

I don't know about that---the one where they are sitting on a stoop or porch or  something like that--was so cute, especially the boys.  I can't find it now, but people were posting it maybe around the time they announced M5--and kept blocking Smuggar's face with various funny stuff. Anyway, they look more like her than him--maybe that is what appeals to me!

I thought an honest interview would have been more logical. Actually, this isn't his first public appearance since the scandals. He also did a congratulations video for when Samuel was born. Still a congratulations video though, so the sentiment of your post still stands.

It is just me that think that if the Duggar's (J&M specifically) weren't so obsessed with purity and didn't hold such strange and damaging views of sex then maybe Josh would have turned out ok? 

I mean J&M are obsessed with sex. Jimboob talks about it A LOT. Yet he taught his children that thinking about anything sexual is wrong (even the normal teenage curiosity) and suppressed the kids years of sexual maturity. 

Like maybe if Josh had the opportunity to be more open about sex and sexual feelings growing up, he wouldn't be such a messed up adult. I mean for a lot of people looking at porn is one of them things that happens in life as is sexual experimentation before marriage. Many choose differently, but at least they have a choice. 

Idk maybe I'm thinking too logically for the Duggar's and then there's the whole nature vs nurture thing. But I can't help feeling that nurture had a lot to do with how Josh turned out and any emotional/mental confusion he may have or had.

@BlessaYourHeartI think it's more than likely that growing up in a less restrictive house/religion/cult  would have made Josh a different person.  He'd probably still be fairly arrogant, but I think if he was allowed to explore his own sexuality (as in spanking the monkey, slapping the meat, pulling the pud, masterbating), he would have been less likely to touch his sisters in the ways that he did.

Part of my wonders if Josh was simply a high maintenance child whose needs got lost in the shuffle of a new baby annual year. This is precisely why most people choose to have small families, because of the need and desire to give children individualized attention, especially if said child has some kind of issue requiring more parental focus. Instead, it seems like very little parenting occurred for Josh  or any of the kids. It's not hard to read between the lines that the molestations were able to occur because Josh was left alone and in charge of ten+ kids, while the so-called parents were out networking, doing interviews, and making the next blessing. When Josh's problems manifested, JB and Michelle did what they always did by sending the offender off for Gothardite reprogramming. 

Then again, another part of me also thinks that even if Josh had been raised in the most progressive family, he'd still end up being that creepy older guy who buys beer for high school students. I guess we'll never know.

Oh wow. In that photo of all the kids above, they all look so alike. The Duggar girls all looked similar when they were little (can't tell Jill/Jana apart in early photos of them) but of course now they all look fairly different.
