I'm really upset about this. Not that I couldn't see it coming...

The tragic part is that it's very easy to hope that Avery ends up with a better family, a more loyal family, a prepared one. But knowing the types of people (Kimmie...) who generally seek out "rehomed" (abandoned) children doesn't give me a lot of hope.

Here's the thing, where is the adoption agency? I know international adoption they check up on you for a least a year.

Most of these kids are probably coming from shady religious adoption agencies. Or the agency is not being told the child is being thrown away.

Rehoming is a euphemism. The correct, blunt term for it is "giving up your child."

It's a euphemism that actually sounds worse than the correct term, imo, because it makes everyone think of rehoming a dog.

Please tell me families who do this are banned from adopting again...anyone know?

It depends. Some states charge parents who who give up their adopted children with abandonment and/or neglect, and some do not. Without some sort of charge to act as an objective disqualifier, it's really up to the individual agency whether another adoption was approved. I would think most would see it as a major red flag at the very least, but some agencies unfortunately see dollar signs rather than children's well-being.

Every time I see a child is being abandoned rehomed I immediately think of the L&O SVU episode where the dad reports his recently adopted child as "missing" only to find out the mother "rehomed" him... except what she didn't realize or care to even look into, was that the people she found on the adoption message board to take her kid were pedophiles and she "accidentally" sold her child into a child pornography ring.

It makes me sick to think of what these children go through even in the best of circumstances. And I pray they end up in the best circumstances. Wherever Avery ends up, I hope she is able to feel loved.

Ok these people Fasinate me. Maybe because I was a adopted child myself. I'm getting very very bored with the Jean blog. I've read kimmys , (skipped the baby clothes and cats) and vicky's . I just can't get into Jeans. I'm at the part where they've already brought Emma and Ella(?) home. But it's a snooze fest. Are there any others I've missed.

Jean whitewashes everything and almost never talks about any of the difficulties of parenting more than a dozen adopted kids besides vague mentions of therapy puppies. She's very boring. I haven't backread her posts, but I do check occasionally to see if she's added new children to the mix (she usually has).

Try Raising Sunflowers - porknbeansnchina.blogspot.com. It's now private, but you can find a cache online easily. She gave up an adopted daughter, Linzi, after she was home for like 3 weeks — she was 5 years old and was annoying and disruptive — and just snapped up a rehomed daughter.

The Bergey Bunch/Perspectives in Parenting are also good too.

I'll look for it. I'm not so great at finding the old stuff but I'll certainly try. I think that's the couple from my state. Not sure what city they are from though. Thanks!

On the topic of "rehoming" -- Laurel D.  (ImGhanaAdopt or MamaDsDozen) NEVER talks or mentions either of her "rehomed" kids anymore.   I wonder what's up with them.  I know that with the older boy it seemed there were some issues she mentioned that sounded like sexual touching/abuse of female siblings which are obviously completely legitimate problems that needed attention.  The second one was sent away several years later to a questionable group home.

I still follow Mama D also, though her current blog is dry as dirt. She makes over her bio kids and posts umpteen picturs of them, but rarely any mention of Sarah, and certainly never a picture. I'm sure Rachel is still stuck in whatever facility they left her in years ago.

I feel so bad for little Jie Jie.  Having read through the blog, it seems like she was her mothers absolute darling, until her intellectual disabilities became apparent, and then she was shunted aside for Apple.  It appears that she is a very sweet girl who tries hard and adores her mother, and is simply not capable of what Apple is due to her special needs.   But she's shoved into the background, barely worth a mention.  It must be terrible to know that you were once so adored, and now you're nothing.

I love little JieJie. She is precious. I kinda want to smack Apple for no apparent reason than the simple fact that her arrival hurt JieJie. I don't believe for a second that Apple is as capable as Kimmie pretends. The fact is that Kimmie has never had a small child to "parent". Many special needs kids develop quickly in stages then slow down.  A friend of mine has a son with Downs Syndrome. He was way ahead of the curve for years. Now, at 7, he way behind. The W. at 3 was progressing much more quickly than the W. at 7. I wonder if she will trade away Apple when she her development slows?

Since you skipped clothes and cats, that means it only took about 10 minutes of skimming Kimmie, right?

I saw she's public again. But I've only seen one pic of Sarah. She did briefly mention Rachel is still in the treatment facility. For her attachment issues . But she doesn't talk much due to the internet sites that like to make fun of her and caused her to shut the old blog down lol . Which I had read entirely. Now she's boring . Kimmy was entertaining once you got past the clothes and cats. But I saw a mentally ill person in her. Then she was over the moon with perfect little Jie Jie. Never ever did she speak badly of her ever. Until she got her prized Apple. Poor Jie Jie should of been a only child . Then I would like kimmy. She could of bought her then perfect daughter Jie Jie and reborn doll and let her use the clothes and crap for that. Seriously though Jie Jie was perfect until apple came. I feel so sad for that little girl.

No not at all that was the first few years. But once she got Jie Jie we had lots and lost of posts over the perfect child. Then lost of posts over the older bad girls. And billions of posts over perfect apple and suddenly Jie JIe wasn't so perfect anymore. Lol. I just skipped the photos of the endless baby clothes . And all the cat entries. She had serious car hoarding issues . Didn't she even post the cats puke , and there was a post about walking in cat crap . Plus the oxygen tent she made for max was is? See I read plenty lmao.

Was she the one who kept having to take the toliet apart? And even posted pics of the baby's crap that exploded everywhere??

Yes, the toilet thing! One of the older girls kept putting a full sized tube of toothpaste down the toilet. It happened a LOT. She thought it was Blossom, then maybe thought it was Sissy, then I guess settled one both of them. It'd be funnier if it turned out to be Jie Jie.

Her reaction to the toilet thing was over the top. Both of my kids went through a phase of trying to dispose of things in the toilet. Couple that with the likelihood that flush toilets were a new and fascinating thing for those girls and I think she overreacted.

I think she decided that it was Sissy who kept putting the full tubes of toothpaste down the toilet. According to Kimi, it was Sissy "acting out" because jealous or something. It was right around the time they took in Blossom I think so I guess that makes sense. Who knows though. I mean, it could have been Jie Jie the whole time.

Speaking of that, remember when Jie-Jie got on the shit list because she was busy looking at princesses on her laptop instead of doing Kimi's boring homework? How about you learn how to parent, Kim. Let your kids be kids once in a while.

  • 2 weeks later...

It seems Vicky has made her blog private... this after several 'don't judge me for rehoming Avery' posts over the past few weeks.

Fencingmama...

It's kind of sad that she thinks Sissy is at the limit of her academic ability, that should be judged by a professional.

And what the hell is up with all her mail

Give each girl a shelf, and buy a few binders for each shelf.  One for medical (use dividers for different specialists if you want), one for schooling, one for adoption related paper work, etc.  Further shelves for paid bills, pay stubs anything eles you need.

When the mail comes, take 10 minutes to open and file it each day.  Seriously a grown woman should have no trouble with this.  Especially a self-proclaimed Super Mama.

The posts about mail shocked me.  Does she really need hours every day to go through her mail?  She must not be opening it right away so after a few days it accumulates.  I can't believe she literally has a mail room
