Jinger and Lawson courting?

SPHASH

Recommended Posts

I was a bit like Jinger with makeup when I started as well....just piled on the eyeliner and called it 'smokey eye'. I cringe looking back at my old photos!

But I also had the benefit of having peers who were into makeup, seeing different looks in pop culture, getting to go to the mall alone and walk around makeup stores for hours and trying out products and getting the sales ladies to help me pick out some cool new things, being able to follow beauty v/bloggers on instagram and tumblr and being able to look at tutorials for different looks on pinterest.

I wonder how much access to any of that Jinger has.

Man, I have access to all those things and I'm still having trouble with even the most basic of eye shadowing and eye lining. I can't fault any of these girls for not knowing what they're doing. Lol

IMO it would be noteworthy if they weren't flaccid. Premium cable likes to push the envelope by showing peen from time to time, but I don't think I've ever seen an erection on film, outside of porn.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. And provide links. :shifty-kitty:

Peen

PAHAHAHA! [literally how I sounded]

And yes, links!

Game of Thrones the show is based on the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George RR Martin. The first season follows the first book pretty closely. It's a fantasy series, but sort of Medieval fantasy? The books are interesting because they change viewpoint/narrator every chapter. I think they did a good job with the world building and characters. The plot meanders in the 4th book, imo.

GRRM better hurry up and finish writing the series. That dude looks old.

Plus, I have a theory about how it will end and am so sure that I'm right... the waiting is horrible.

I know right? I still don't understand why they had to keep mentioning that they were flaccid. Maybe they were really disappointed and still hadn't gotten over it.

My theory, based on the fact that GRRM is known to take pleasure in the suffering and agony of his readers, is that he is actually planning to die before he completes the series.

Me too. He turned 68 or 69 within the last month.

I have my ideas. And it looks like the show will surpass the books which is sad.

George Martin has told the writers of the show how he intends the series to end so while the show may be different from the books they said that they plan the ending to be the same as the books. I've only managed to read the first book which the show was pretty faithful to. Don't know if I want to read the rest til the series ends.

When they show erections, it's usually clothed and comedic. Zoolander, Anchorman, etc. Also crappy comedies that involve the use of medication in the antics.

There was also the debate when I was a kid if Patrick Swayze had an erection in Dirty Dancing.

Wait, so a penis can be shown on cable shows now, but it has to be flaccid? Why can't it be erect, does flaccid somehow make it more socially acceptable? Why does the amount of bloodflow make a difference? What trickery is this? :wtf:

Reminds me of when Miley Cyrus said that America isn't offended by breasts in the media, it's offended by nipples. Media sources will often show as much of the female breast as possible without showing the nipple. Can't help but think she's got a point.

Wait, we wimmins cannot see a peen doing its thang..... but men worldwide see just about everything? Hmm.... (Not that I want to, and I am not privy to GOT), but the scales seem to be uncalibrated, somehow.

What bizarre alternate universe version of the Midwest do you live in where NO woman wears makeup or has long hair?

S3, I rescind my "all inclusive" and will heartily defend a "most inclusive." From my untrained local eye, it just seems like the majority have short hair.

Haha, fair enough. I don't know exactly where you live, after all. And it's so true that when you go to another place and there are a lot of people wearing things or styling themselves in a way that you're not used to, that's always what your eye picks up on first! Plus I live in a city, not a small town, so ymmv.

Reading this last page to me it like reading something in a foreign language. Ha!

Wow. Lovely typos. Too late to edit it. Me fail English? That's unpossible!

Got it, thx. I have never been into fantasy or sci fi (although I'm half-way paying attention to all the old Dr. Who episodes my sons have recently begun watching on Netflix.).

We actually vacationed in Croatia this summer where a lot of the show is filmed. I guess the show has had an effect on their tourism numbers and every t-shirt shop there includes several Game of Thrones t-shirt options :-). Almost makes me want to try an episode or two out...

I am not much into fantasy or sci-fi either. But I LOVE Doctor Who and highly recommend to pretty much everyone. :)

Well, to be fair, it's not like GoT is the first show on HBO to show full frontal male nudity. (Or flaccid penis.) True Blood, Deadwood, and The Wire all had donger shots.

This is the second time today I've wondered why I know the things that I've posted on FJ.

I quit watching Doctor Who sometime in the middle of 11. I could not get into the Matt Smith portrayal. Plus that was around the time I stopped watching a lot of tv in general. Coincidentally, that was also when the American Doctor Who fans got really annoying as well.

But I would recommend 9 and 10 to everyone. It's such a fun show.

Well, then, I have no HBO, so I have no reference to any of the shows you mention. Cannot justify the cost. ENJOY! And I will try to follow along as an outsider.... Golden Girls and Frasier re-runs are my go - to.

I agree...a lot of the fans are pretty terrible. It seems like it's mostly the younger people though.

I don't own a tv and I have never subscribed to HBO. But HBO puts out high quality shows. I think I borrowed The Wire from the library but it's on Amazon prime now. Probably the one of the best shows I've seen.

But does she KNOW what she can do with it? Plus, while she's allowed to use makeup, but I think overly flashy forms of make up would be an issue in the family. I can't see the Duggars allowing their daughters to experiment with contouring or cat eyes or even fun colors/multiple colors.

Ugh the black eyeliner around the WHOLE EYE really bothers me. Very few and I mean 1% of women can pull it off. My cousin is one of them think olive skin, large eyes but her problem is she doesn't know when to stop. It use to be pretty like Arabic/Cleopatra but now it's max drag factor 5000. Add that to her cocky/conceded personality add a dash of her trashy clothes and it adds to up to looking just sad. Plus the older you get the harsher black eyeliner looks. So when in doubt, don't use eyeliner around the whole eye and switch to something more soft like gold, copper, light brown.

:laughing-rolling: to the bolded.

I think I could pull off long hair after 50. I don't look good with short hair (mine is naturally curly), and I refuse to age into what I think of as old-lady-Easter-egg hair. I see lots of older women with short, curly blue-rinse perms. And that's a bad look for me.

This thread's gone off into a weird place, but it's kinda fun. 8-)

There's a "rule" that in her 40s, a woman's hair shouldn't be below her shoulders, in her 50s it shouldn't be below her jawline and in her 60s+ it shouldn't be longer than her ears.

I'm in my early 50s and my hair is the longest it's ever been, 4" or 5" below my shoulders. I will never ever have one of those above the ear pixie cuts. I would not look good, my hair would not look good and my husband would hate it. He always says that he can't understand why women get that cut because they look like boys. I feel like I would de-sexualize myself.

I mean, the pixie cut works on some women who can carry it and style it well (Audrey Hepburn, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence, Lupita Nyong'o) and I sure wish I had the face and bone structure to pull it off, but I agree that the whole "oh, you're old now, time to cut your hair" rule is stupid. It's your head, do what you want with it.

I have seen every episode of the Golden Girls and Frasier, ever. I especially looove Frasier. There's so many seasons, you could be watching it pretty much indefinitely.

Jill = Daenerys Targaryen: Going off to foreign lands to "liberate" people, but honestly has no clue what she's doing and is in way over her head.

Amy = Jon Snow

And Jill, like Dany, will probably go completely batshit crazy in the end.

I disagree with Amy being Jon though, because Jon is awesome. Amy is Rickon, the wild child no one cares about.

As for the Lannister jokes, when the molestation scandal hit, I had to go through my tumblr to remove a snarky comment I made about Jinger and Joe going "full Lannister" once. That was awkward.

I'm mid-50s and my hair is the shortest it has ever been. It's the length of an ultra-conservative fundie (Pecan Thief, for example). Since I'm not trying to look sexy for anyone, I'm happy with my hair short. It's easy, quick to care for, and I don't have to worry if the wind blows it out of place.

I've often wished for long, beautiful hair, but for me, I've found that hair below my ears weighs my face down and makes me look tired and older. Even the girl who cuts my hair (when I don't do it myself) tells me I always need to wear my hair short because it suits me.

Wow. Enough of this ego-centric post!
