Let's all stand up and cheer for JB & DQ for their excellent parenting skills NOT :wtf:

He's old enough that you can't blame this on his parents. Each molestation past the first one they knew about, definitely blame that on them. But you can't blame them for actions he chose as an adult.

If Josh's name is on the house, then it is hers as well. At least, that's how it works in Florida. My ex wasn't on my mortgage, but because we were married the house was also in his name.

I HOPE Anna is on the house title. My soon to be ex-niece is not on the mortgage to the house my nephew bought during their marriage becuase he got the loan from the VA and she was working a cash job at that time so her income could not be verified. She signed a piece of paper during closing acknowledging this and still tried to get the house in the divorce, which did not work.

Also, when we sold our first house in 2001, the wife was not on the title/mortgage and it took their lawyer 25 minutes to convince her to sign the paper that said she knows she is not an owner and knows the risks in this decision. She finally did and then passed out tracts while we were waiting for the funding to go through.

A married person can own a home in Florida without their spouse having an ownership interest. The spouse will generally have a homestead interest in the property. That might limit to whom the property can be transferred upon death, but that doesn't make the spouse a co-owner.

That's how it is for us-only one name. I think the only time I've heard of a co-ownership angle coming into play is in divorce court if it was purchased after the marriage with joint assets..

But would she have the money for a lawyer to fight this?

She wouldn't need a lawyer. It's family law, not a criminal case. Plenty of people successfully fight family law by themselves. Plus, she's got connections. She could get a lawyer if she wanted. The Duggars also have a history of not having legal professionals working for them, so I doubt that they'd get a top notch lawyer or something like that.

All Anna needs is the information she gathered living with them for so long, their admissions in the news and tabloids, etc. Plus, she knows a lot more about that family than we ever will.

HermioneSparrow, It's on Michelle Duggars blog on the official family page. You can also Google pretty much anywhere but the Gawker article has the records of changes.

Sorry, on tapa or would direct you!

I agree. Plus, as this case would probably get some news coverage and all, I'm sure some lawyers would be willing to work for a lower price than usual. I don't think Anna would be the one who would have trouble finding a good lawyer, but Josh. If Anna made a gofundme in order to help her and her children escape fundieland, I'm pretty sure people would be willing to donate, especially if she would expose the horrible life inside the Gothard cult.

I hope she leaves him and takes the kids far, far away from fundie land. But I don't think she will. I think there will be a lot of Jesus-chatter and crocodile tears (from Josh) and they'll announce some mission trip in a few month to get them all out the spotlight. Then he can discover how to chase women without the ebil internet.

Hey, judging by the way it's rolling along we're going to need a new thread in about an hour... my nominations:

Joshley Madison: Better Hope God Doesn't Have a Three Strikes Policy

I wonder if anyone has started to contact those that are friends on the Joe Smithson Facebook account? If he met up with them, its their time to shine!

What I want to know.....

Josh spent over a grand at Ashley Madison.

Does this mean he didn't buy used and save the difference?

Does buying used and saving the difference count if in his mind these were "used" women?

I think someone said Jinger was out with Jana doing some multi-day speaking engagement right now.

Here in Indy for the COMMIT conference (at the hotel of "light and love", AKA Goddard central.)

Seriously everytime I read about Mike Keller I keep hearing this quote from the Golden Girls:

"Crazy or stupid?" "We think it's a mix."

+1 for the Golden Girls ref. Too bad Pa Keller is a much worse and far more dangerous crazy and stupid than Rose Nylund.

Yesterday afternoon I came home to a gleeful Mr. LL who told me Joshy boy had gotten in trouble again. Ive spent the day on and off reading everything and I'm kinda speechless. I feel bad for Anna. I'm an empath and her upbringing and beliefs are really really fucked up. It is my fervent hope that this is a catalyst for one of the others to break free.

The Ok account, if real, is very interesting. Personally I am pissed that he wants to deny me my weed while cheating on his ubar religious wife.

She doesn't need a lawyer, but she would be better off in the long term if she retained the services of a lawyer.

He bought "used"...you know those ladies he hooked up with had already "given away pieces of their hearts" and weren't "pure"...in essence, used!

Although I recently joined FJ, I've been lurking for a couple of years. The culture of FJ in the duggar thread has speculated and hoped that one of the kids would escape. The irony is, I think it might be Joshie! JB and Michelle are not going to be able to spin this or control it like their failed molestation cover up. ( they got away with that one for a few years- made some $$). This is out of control. I think we could see an old fashioned shunning.= joshie breaks free! He'll appear on Jerry Springer, hire a ghost writer for a sleazy book and be forgotten in a month or so a la John Gosselin.

I've had similar thoughts. Working in the political arena in D.C., Josh would have seen a lot of things that contradicted his upbringing. He would meet and work with conservative and Christians who didn't grow up isolated, who go out and do fun things with their friends. People who go to the beach for the weekend and wear bathing suits. He would see single men and women have private conversations and who do things together without a chaperone and don't fall into bed together. He would see people who date normally, date multiple people and still have good, happy marriages. He seemed to go to a lot of parties, he would see people having cocktails with no harm coming to them. And he would be working with and encountering a lot of people with real educations from accredited universities and law schools. Even with his smug know-it-all attitude he would have realized how inadequate his own education was.

I always figured his job duties consisted only of being a public face, attending events and delivering speeches written by others. He probably thought he'd be doing real work, drafting polices and strategies, etc. But then he was told "let the people with actual educations handle that." If he really is smart (as people have said) that would be very painful for him.

If he gets real, secular mental health help, he'll quickly realize how screwed up the Gothard/ATI philosophy is and how it contributed to his sexual issues.

I'm guessing his family isn't really going to want him around much, so he doesn't really have much to lose there if he breaks away and/or starts telling all. It would be amazing if he wrote a book in conjunction with a mental health professional. He could talk about the way he was raised and things he was taught and the mental health professional could follow up each anecdote with an explanation of why that particular point is actually harmful to people. He could become a go-to guy for reporters and talk show hosts who want to discuss religion and the harms of extremism.

But that also means he would have to think he doesn't have any hope of his family life ever returning to what it was before the scandals broke. Something tells me the full wrath of Jessa is rather scary and something he'd want to avoid.

I always picture Famy. Because she can't keep her mouth shut and well, because she's Famy.

Yeah me too. Or her idiot fiancé Dill Pickle.

Escorts 4 Jeebus needs to either be a post count title or a real life "ministry," perhaps one of those legalized brothels in Nevada. At this rate, all of the post titles will be about some iteration of Joshgate!

He is trying to turn it into a "porn made me do it" or "porn was cheating" story instead of "Josh Duggar spent years cheating on his wife." And people will fall for it. They love the Duggars so much that they are desperate for any tiny strand that they can grasp onto to make this less awful.

Nap got me, so I'm still so far behind, but this. The whole porn distraction from AM.

AM's tag line is "Life's short have an affair" ffs. It has nothing to do with porn. It's ALL about physically cheating on your spouse with another live human being.

The non-apology is just trying to deflect from the fact that Josh had 2 (TWO!) accounts for a span of several years at a site that has the sole purpose of facilitating affairs/infidelity.
