Joshley Madison: 2 Sex Scandals and Counting

I'm surprised nothing from anna. As far as her parents, they have to feel devastated. I know her father did not want the marriage, but she pushed it.

Is she even ALLOWED to be angry at him? He is her headship and he has apologized and asked Jesus to forgive him. Isnt it her duty to take him back and move forward with his new sin free life[tm][/tm]?

I've been trying to be a good newbie and finish reading before I post, but you all make it hard! So much of what I want to say became irrelevant in a page or two...

I feel bad for the kids because unlike Anna who may or may not have understood the significance of Josh's teenage transgressions before their wedding, the kids had NO choice in their father. Even though they are little now, they will grow up with everyone around them knowing what a schmuck their dad is, and kids can be bullied about things much smaller than this!

In threads like this, you really don't need to read everything before you post-- reading back 4-5 pages is usually enough. :)

I do not think this is worse than the child molestation. But I think it is compounded with the two scandals together. I think people would have been much more willing to forgive Josh for the adultery if he had not previously been involved with the child molestation scandal. I think a lot of people who felt that Josh was just a kid when the molestation happened but he realized what he did was so wrong and he changed can now look back on that way of thinking and think "How could I have believed such a hideous person could have changed"? I think from here on out, people will begin to separate themselves from the Duggars. I think the Bates realizing they have too much to lose will put their friendship with the Duggars on the back burner from now I. I doubt Ben Seewald's father will speak about forgiving Josh anymore. I can imagine Kathy Dillard (I don't her married name now), will back off from being close friends with the family. Mike Huckabee certainly will not talk about forgiveness anymore for Josh. It's not that this is worse.. it's just the this combined with the molestation scandal has finally helped many leghumpers to realize what a truly awful person Josh is.

Based on what? From what I remember, Pa Keller was just as thrilled about marrying his daughter off to a Duggar as she was. He's, at best, a really, really, really bad judge of character, and at worst, an irresponsible and careless asshole. It's not like Josh is really significantly worse than his brothers-in-law.

As usual, Josh managed to completely dodge the question at hand. He's notapology is babbling on about internet pornography, without saying a thing about his AM or OkCupid profiles, which is what the scandal is actually about (he said he was "unfaithful," which in ATI-speak could mean anything from viewing the porn itself to actual sex). At least he admits to being a hypocrite, which is a start. I don't like giving up on someone who's only 27, but I wonder if Josh will ever really learn from his mistakes. JM and Michelle must be furious with him, so maybe this will be the instance that causes them to wash their hands of him.

You are spot on. Josh is giving leg humpers an out by suggesting the porn addiction was his unfaithfulness. This apology reads differently for fundies than the average person.

Curious also that this information is sending some rabid leghumpers to the hills. A 15 year old handling a 5 year olds genitals is just kid stuff but this??? This is too much for proper christians.

However, it's pretty clear that Boob is much more attracted to and in awe of J'Chelle than Josh will ever be to Anna. I'm not saying that Josh doesn't like his wife or that he didn't think she was pretty when they met. But it's obvious that Boob, for all his other faults, still adores J'Chelle and you can still see that he is so glad that he got to marry her. Josh on the other hand seems to have married Anna because he had to get married and she happend to be there.

At this point, I'd definitely say that Josh is the worst of the 3 (the 3 being Smuggar, Shrader, and TFDW), but Shrader putting his children in harm's way in Zambia and profiting from his sister's death are pretty effing bad. We can argue about the relative "bad husbandness," but Josh isn't much of an outlier when it comes to the husbands chosen for the poor Keller daughters.

That was far more straightforward of a statement than I had been expecting. Josh may have an addiction, but it does strike me as a way to spin this into people feeling sorry for him. Either way, good on him for calling himself a hypocrite.

This may sound sick, but did Josh actually cheat on Anna - like, physically? He admits to unfaithfulness, but I am wondering if he is considering viewing porn to be unfaithful, or if he did indeed have actual physical intimacy with other women.

Catching up on posts but it looks like no one specifically responded to this. Sorry if I'm repeating stuff.

When using AM men have to pay to interact with others on the site, the reports with raw data show he spent quite a lot of money on it. He probably didn't spend all that money just for talking to other women. I'm going to guess he was unfaithful physically not just virtually.
