Joshley Madison: 2 Sex Scandals and Counting

Good fucking god, how is it that the most disturbing part of this scandal is that so many people will simply forgive a CHILD MOLESTER but god forbid an adult man cheat on his wife with a consenting adult? Blech. Josh is gross and a horrible husband and most likely shitty father, but molesting his sisters etc is so much worse than cheating. THIS is the scandal where someone could say "2/3 of people do this!" and be close to right (I am guessing, I have no idea what number of people cheat but I bet it's a lot more than those who molest!).

Agreed that the molestation is worse, but with the time between the events and them coming public, there is just so much room to give him the benefit of the doubt that he stopped his scumbag behaviors (or at least there wasn't hard evidence that anything continued, so the family could use the "it was hard but we moved past it" line). But this is very recent and very much coincides with his hateful speeches about the "sanctity of marriage" and how lgbtqia... people are ruining marriage. The timing also calls into suspicion his actions over the last twelve years, since the response to the initial scandal was to claim that he has been a holy person since then. Now we have hard evidence that he was not, so there goes that absolution and benefit of the doubt.

In my opinion, that makes this the bigger scandal, though the molestation sickens me more than the infidelity.

For me personally, this is worse because he is a full grown man who took vows.

I want to believe that people really can change- that they can make mistakes when they are young and change and do something different. He was a creep as a teenager. But I wanted to believe that he could/did change to be a decent husband and father. I believed he was a good husband to Anna.

So that for me is why this seems worse. It's not that it is worse in terms of crime, it is worse because it just so horribly builds on the crime that has already been committed.

So there is no other way around it: He was a creep then, and he is a creep now.

Given that he's probably watched oceans worth of porn over the past decade plus, I'd guess he knows what it is. Whether he know what to do with it is another question, but I'm sure he thinks "Sounds like it could be fun!"

Josh was 16 in 2004 (I always know exactly how old Josh was in any given year because we were born in the same year). So he probably got his driver's licence that year, and that's probably why he became an organ donor. Now why he chose to share that on his fake adultery profile is another question, but maybe he just thought it was funny. We all know what a ~fantastic~ sense of humour ol' Joshy has.

Watching porn and cheating is not a sexual perversion. In their religion is a sin, and we could argue that cheating is morally wrong, but calling it a perversion is too much. And there is people cheating on their partnerts being raised in all kind of environment, i dont feel you can really blame his parents on this, it was a choice he take as an adult. He could have remained single like his brother John-David did, and have sex with all the woman he wanted. He choose to marry and then choose to cheat.

Actually I meant that had he gotten help at the time of his molesting his sisters, he might be a different person now. Like the kind that can keep from cheating VS one that gives in to his more base instincts. We will have to agree to disagree as to porn. I find it pretty perverted myself.

There have been organ donation campaigns on Facebook that asked people to post if they were registered as donors and what year. Josh probably just added it because of that.

I don't know how less well off financially she really would be in the long run. If she stays with Joshy, and continues to pop out kid after kid, they will hit poverty line pretty soon. Because let's face it, Josh is pretty much unemployable and Boob might not be as generous with him after this latest scandal.

If she left, she could get an education, a job, and a future. In the beginning, she could even try to get a tv show in order to help pay the bills. She could also start a youtube page or a blog exposing their cult. That brings in money too.

Don't misunderstand me, I hope she does get out, I hope all of them do. But I went back to college after a divorce with only one child and it was pretty damned overwhelming. And I had a real high school education from a very well respected High School not what passed for education for Anna. I just hope the best for her.

Holy Crap! I finally caught up!

Anna needs to get herself to a doctor pronto. Even if Joshie told her he used a condom, she needs to be tested for STD's. Anna, you did ABSOLUTLY NOTHING WRONG!

Josh is the guilty one. But I don't let Boob and Mullet off the hook. If they had taken Josh serious when he first started with his "problem", it might not have ended this way.

Josh, you NEED to see a Therapist, NOT someone from your "church". If you want to stop destroying those around you, you NEED HELP! You can't do this alone! If you think life is bad now, just wait until you end up on the Sex Offenders List.

Professional support would be helpful with figuring out how to cope with all of this, because I sure as hell doubt she's going to get what she needs from the Duggars. Does anyone happen to know if her family has made any statements? It would be nice for her to have their emotional support, but to be honest, I don't really know whether they'd be on her side or not, apart from maybe the sibling(s) that have left the cult.

I find it sad and insulting that his fake name is so close to his wife's alias.

The Pinterest page seems pretty accurate to be hers as many things line up. Like the fruit kabobs she served in DC during jills wedding dress shopping appeared at same time as filming. Also seems that she had a page for Pricillas shower.

It would have been nice that he chose an alias that was not similar to her alias

Sorry I can't remember specifically....it could be that Josh had set one up on his own first. ANYWAY, there was a reference to whatever it was on Twitter or Instagram and someone noticed the URL associated with it went to an account that followed a LOT of sexified women. Regarding her education: it's clear that Anna would have to start at the basics. She would probably have way longer to complete it than others who went to a real high school instead of a subpar SOTDRT.

I was watching one of the first specials the other day and they refer to him as "lead son Josh." That might have come from Discovery and not his parents. But I did always get the impression that they built him up to be the leader and the most important. When there were issues with the RV in the road trip episode, we see Jim Bob consulting Josh for his opinion on what to do. I've always thought he was so arrogant because of the family dynamic his parents maintained. He's 27, he has 4 kids, he should have figured out he's not all that by now all on his own.

As much as I'd like to see his ass dumped, I'll try to be realistic. He basically has zero ability to pay any kind of support. Jim Bob and Michelle aren't going to pay what Josh owes if she leaves him. What's she going to do, get a job? Prison ministries and speaking at megachurches isn't going to support 4 kids.

Please Anna, go to school or get some kind of vocational training, get a job, save as much money as you can and leave his Satan's fortress as soon as you can.

But you have to remember that's how she grew up. Her kids aren't old enough to remember the "good old days". She's the only one that would fall back on a harder life.

I always thought the sources were either Famy and/or some frenemy in the family's circle.

Still, if she truly wanted to leave Josh, there are ways. Women in worse circumstances do it (not to make light at all of Anna's own circumstances, which are awful enough). Hopefully a sympathetic family member or friend would provide her and her children shelter for a while until she got on her feet. She'd have to give up the dream of being a stay-at-home mother of 10+, but it would be worth it to not have Josh as a husband. With a decent support system she could even start out working part time at something entry level, maybe even work toward a basic degree to further her options. She's still so young. It's not like she's a 50-year-old woman who's never worked a day in her life and now finds herself divorced with 8 kids still living at home.

All of this is moot, though - she won't leave him. I hope she at least gets tested for STDs. I don't know how she could ever trust him again. How many times has he said he was sorry and assured everyone that Jesus saved him from himself? Every time it was a lie. Why on earth would this time be different?
