Joshley Madison: 2 Sex Scandals and Counting

Phew finally reached the end!

A few questions:

Where is the speaking engagement that j'chelle, jana and jinger are at? Just wondering how long it would take them to return to TTH.

Also how long has Famys Instagram bio said " I won't be a duggar much longer". I've never noticed it until tonight.

Regardless of my opinion on Anna as a person, I hope to god that she has some sense to get her children away from that toxic household. I can't imagine that the atmosphere is healthy for any little ones at this time, especially when so much animosity is going to be against their dad.

I last looked at Amy's insta a few days ago and saw that quote on there.

The Commit Conference, I believe. There's a thread about it in the Quiverfull of Duggars forum.

So was Joshy reformed or made worse? And is the big bad worls at fault for this? Will momma start robocalling to shut down the internet and pass laws to segregate the sexes? Will all future marriages be to spouses sight unseen?

Will his parents realize that IF JB doesn't cheat, it is probably because he and Michelle got to know each other before marriage and admittedly did things they felt are now inappropriate before marriage...i.e. they had a chance to see if they were sexually compatible. In addition to the fact that they had YEARS to get to know each other without the immediate stress and sleepless/sexless nights that children bring!

Kind of a weird digression, but if anyone wants a soundtrack to go with this mess, it's definitely the album 'Neon Bible' by Arcade Fire. I kept thinking that back when the molestation scandal hit. Antichrist Television Blues is supposed to be about Jessica Simpson's father, but it fits Jim Bob pretty well, too.

I am feeling so much schadenfreude about this, although I'm gutted for Anna and the M kids. Anna didn't deserve to be cheated on, for sure. No one does.

I am so tickled that the empire is crashing down, though. The Duggs are done, and a lot of negative light is being shone on their lifestyle. Imho, as a former fundie, that's a good thing!!

Then I feel sorry for Anna again. I'm so glad FJ is here to help me sort it all out!

One thing I haven't seen anyone mention, after reading 74 pages of Joshley Madison is that if Anna does leave him, while she certainly has grounds for divorce under their religion, she DOES NOT have grounds to remarry. If Anna leaves Josh, but wants to stay in her support system's good graces, she has to be single with four kids for the rest of her born days! That might be a lot for her to accept! On the other hand, she could toss that lifestyle out the window and go her own way, but she loses her entire support system. My sympathies are with her. I'm not a fan of Anna, especially after the fact that she stayed with Josh after the molestations came to light, but she is a person with out a whole lot of really great choices at this point in her life. Staying with Josh would suck, keeping the Duggar's or Keller's support and staying single would suck, and leaving everything and everyone she has ever known behind her would suck!

It is his Instagram for his Five Stone Group business. The Instagram username is fivestonegroup.

That's it! Thanks so much! Of course it's locked down now, but I remember seeing what was on there.

Wait, what? They don't allow remarriage? Why not? Where are you getting this?

This reminds me of when Jim Bob and Michelle went somewhere (Puerto Rico, I think) for a couple's retreat and Michelle said she worried about "losing the children to the world." It looks like one of her worst fears came true.

I could almost feel sorry for her and Jim Bob if they hadn't brought this on themselves. They did their children a grave disservice in raising them the way they did. This will not be the end of Duggar children behaving badly. I have no doubts that there will be another child who rebels in a similar way in the future.

Sorry, I can't keep up with the thread... Has anyone else commented about the revised statement from Josh? He removed any mention of the pornography addiction.

My guess for "family insider" is Dillon King. He is vocal about standing up for Amy when she gets pulled into Duggar Drama (not her own) he will post rebuttes on IG and he seemed pretty upset that the wedding special with TLC was canceled due to Josh.

His loyalty to the family ends at Amy IMO.

I love speculating and imagining who People's "family insider" source might be.

What if it's Bin? :stir-pot:

What if it's JD, cackling in his bachelor pad?

What if it's Grandma D? :naughty:

What if it's Jana? No one would ever suspect!

Whoever it is, keep talking!

And add me to the club: Joshley Madison has destroyed my life. :embarrassed:

All day long I've heard "Sin in the camp!!!" yelled inside my head, ala Gomer on the Andy Griffith Show saying "Citizens Arrest!!!". And the hat placement kinda reminds me of Bin.

I do not believe that either Anna or her family knew the full extend of Josh's teen escapades or JB's deceitful way of handling the behaviors.

I also think expecting her to kick him to the curb in the middle of a pregnancy to solve his problems is a bit much.

None of this is Anna's fault... being a member of an abrasive, asshole cult and being sheltered beyond reason were chosen for her. She was playing the role her cards dictated.

I guess it depends on the group, but what I've heard before is that it's fine for a woman to remarry if she got a divorce for a Biblically acceptable reason, like adultery. If it's just something like abuse, though, if she wants to leave her husband she will have to always stay single.

Yes, it's been discussed at length. The thread is really difficult to keep up with though.

I had already posted this in the general discussion thread, when I realized this one here exists. I apologize. Here is what I just wrote over there as I feel that it obviously fits better here:

"As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences."

this sentence to me says it all. As stated before, I do not condone promiscuity and at the end of the day he made a terrible decision BUT I would lie if I didn't say that I believe a lot of this is a direct result of how he was raised. Bear with me here... I am very fascinated by what drives people. There is a reason for everything we do, the way we handle situations, etc and a lot of it has to do with how we were raised (plus personality, mental health etc). I have made this point before but if your environment and knowledge acquisition is as controlled and limited as Smuggar's was when he was growing up, there is a chance that he never truly learned about real world cause and effect beyond "if I don't follow the rules, I get punished". Once he moved out he had "the freedom to choose" and just how some kids enter college and make terrible decisions that first year of being away from home, Josh did his version of that. Not sure if I'm alone in thinking this way. As much as I like to snark on this family, it must be incredibly tough on Jchelle, (hopefully) slowly realizing that maybe everything she believes in/choices that were made for the kids weren't the best ones.

Serious question: Do you really think the media has any loyalty towards them or anyone else? Or is it just a matter of winding up with egg on their faces?

I think mainstream media is covering their asses because a lot of records were leaked and if they covered Josh Duggar than they would be obligated morally to cover other people that might not be a small potatoe ackward, backward liar.

Probably worried about 'big' name people popping up. That 's what I think.

I must say I've never seen parents who's kids made bad decisions due to their suddenly having freedom recognize their part. Instead they say, see this is why you could never have freedom before!

Oh I imagine a whole slew of bad behaviors and incidents will ensure. With 19 kids, I have no doubt.

Can you imagine the possible rebellion?

Looking at the intact data for the dating site- all those questions about drugs, alcohol, smoking, homosexual behaviors...and the purported Josh's answers were pretty mild.

Imagine if the sky's the limit?

It's in the bible. Women can't remarry unless their spouse dies. Judging by the fact that they don't eat pork and do arranged marriage, it seems like a rule they'd follow.

That's the most assinine issue with this cult. They purposely do not educate women and knock them up immediately and then over and over.

How could she leave him if she wanted to? I don't think with four kids she is in any kind of situation where she can do anything about it (and she probably doesn't want to). The fundy community would turn on her bad along with at least J'pig's parents.

No defense from Huckabee or even Santorum. I think the Duggar train has finally crashed, burned, exploded, and buried itself. I would expect Michelle and the girls to return to the TTH shortly to regroup. I also wouldnt be surprised if Jill comes back to the states, bringing Joy with her. They need to plot their next move.

Remember J-O-Y?

Jesus first - remember him, joshie?

Others second - like your "precious"

Yourself last -... .... .....

Maybe Josh thinks its YOJ?

One of the keys to me is that these kids (most kids in QF families) are never taught how to make good choices. All of their choices are made for them or they are flat out protected from even encountering choices. I also think there is a degree to which JB and M (and most QF/fundie parents) think that by sheltering their kids from everything until marriage, even after marriage, none of them will ever seek out anything like this or even think about it existing. There is this "see no evil, hear no evil" approach to the world in their parenting. The problem is that the kids do not learn how to respond to what they are going to encounter in the real world. These kids are totally unequipped to deal with anything.
