A Saturday With the Moodys (Maxwells)

It's very ugly the way they talk about Elizabeth. They probably think they have a free pass to do so, as they are not mentioning her by name, but that doesn't matter, as they are still referring to her. And aside from recently declaring their daughter to be "free in Christ," I don't recall the Muncks behaving as anything other than respectful. The Maxwells are crazy, and there is a lot they could have publicly said about them, but they have not. The Muncks have moved on with their lives. Why can't the Maxwells?

Probably because the Maxwells are operating under the incredible, world-shattering rage a narcissist feels when the lies he's constructed and thinks everyone believes about his life are exposed as not actually the truth.

I've decided to hope that Teri's stories about Abby were wildly exaggerated or else it just breaks my heart to much. Also hearing how much work Sarah does for the family further reinforces the fact that she'll never be allowed to leave.

First question was in regard to the evil Google Plus and other social networks and how to opt-out.

What, the ITOnRamp crowd can't figure this out? It's called don't make an account, or if that ship has already sailed, make one final post to it explaining that you're flouncing and then Don't. Log. In. Ever. Again.

Though I don't see why they are so paranoid about social networks anyway. They don't have to rule your life, it's all about how you use it. I suspect the Maxwells don't have a whole lot of willpower - it fits right into the rest of their message. You can't do sports at all or you WILL (you WILL!) be sucked into watching the NFL every weekend and abandoning your family. You can't watch any TV at all or you WILL (you WILL!) be completely sucked into the boob tube 24/7 and addicted to porn. Etc.

I have a CD install of Adobe Photoshop (version 5, maybe the last one that came on CD?) that I got a serious hefty discount on for being an EMPLOYEE of a highly ranked secular state university, but yeah, I had to pick my school off of a list as I recall. And they were all places you'd definitely have heard of.

I wonder how Elissa feels about the bitterness towards Liz. If she is truly the "love of his live", Joe should be grateful the Munck wedding didn't occur.

So Steve, it was OK for your son Chris to dump HIS finance, but not OK for Liz to dump Joe.... You are an angry, bitter old man. You have no concept of LOVE. I doubt you've ever loved Teri. She's just a possession for you.

Totally agree!

"You go, FJers. You appear to bother Steve quite a lot."

This is THE BEST NEWS I've heard all day!!!

Oh, certainly. He's said before that he only stayed married to her and loves her because it would be a sin not to.

 :pink-shock:

Seriously?! What an evil SOB! :angry-banghead:

Not really, but close. He literally does the fake crying thing about 6 times throughout the afternoon. He did it twice within about 15 minutes at one point. Mr. Allison whispered if Steve started crying again he was going to call him on it.

What were some of the things Steve cried about, do you recall?

(This is a great thread by the way. Thanks so much, both you and Talitha, for such entertaining reports).

That makes the time he cried about seeing cleavage a little less dramatic but still ridiculous

Wow. This might explain some of the smirking when I told Steve how I felt about him. Your impression of the boys being arrogant lined up with mine, especially Joseph.

John is arrogant too? I heard he was the most sociable one.

They all seemed arrogant to me, with John being considerably less so. But a woman was lecturing their father, so that could have been it.

Poor Abby! I doubt even Jana Duggar had to do that much work at SIX. It doesn't sound like they've broken Bethany yet. (Stay strong, little sister!)

Mr. Allison and I are trying to remember the stories behind the crying. One was when they moved the elderly woman back to her home from assisted living, even though she could barely walk over to them to thank them. That story didn't touch our hearts in quite the same fashion as theirs. We were worried for the woman's health.

The rest of the stories all related to his children, but for the life of me, I can't remember them. I remember the frequency and how fake it appeared. Talitha, did he do the same during your conference?

Finally caught up.

A) Teri is a horrible woman and should be ashamed of treating B the way she did, let alone bragging to a conference full of people about it.

B) If what she reports about A is true Melanie should be ashamed of herself. My 7yo had several responsibilities but none of them are cook dinner because I'm taking a nap (preggo or not).

C) If there is a god I can't help but believe Steve is going to hell. How many lives has his insanity ruined?

What was the reason why they moved the woman?

Per Steve, it was because she wanted to move back home to be with her husband. I don't doubt that. She was in assisted living and had major difficulties walking, again per Steve. Supposedly there were "many reasons" she couldn't go home, including a piano in the way. Again, plausible. However, my husband and I both wondered why her husband hadn't moved with her, if she would receive the care and attention she needed at home, or if there would be community supports or access to services once she was back at home. Steve said one of the boys worked to start the project of getting her back home (Christopher, if I remember correctly) and it was just so touching when she thanked them. He emphasized how difficult it was for her to get into her home when they moved her back. It was also very hard for her to walk up the sidewalk.

Thank you, Allison! I love insight about the Maxwells.

It saddens me that none of the girls has had a girlfriend they could just go to lunch with. Never, ever. That comes from a deep level of paranoia!

Observation-Elissa is always hanging onto Joe's arm like she is afraid he is gonna make a run for it, kinda like Chris always has his arm around NR Anna.
