Even if lunch for the adults ran $80-100 + tip (ha!) they still made out like bandits with the kids eat free. There's getting a great deal, then there's taking advantage of the system when you can otherwise pay. I guess you'd actually have to have some kind of morals to figure out which is which.

Taking a welfare check to feed 5-6 kids ramen and Kraft Easy Mac because it's all you can afford - immoral! Going into a private business that needs to turn a profit to survive, exploiting a loophole, and drenching you kids in the chocolate mess as you laugh your way to the bank - totally moral!

I do wonder if Josh could get away with drinking. I'm sure there's lots of people in the area who would like nothing more than to knock him off his holier-than-thou pedestal. After Michelle's crusade to stop the convenience store from selling beer, any Duggar spawn seen purchasing alcohol, or drinking in a bar or restaurant would no doubt be "outed" PDQ.

Josh would either have to drink on the sly at a buddy's house, or drive a couple of counties over to buy beer.

Porn is different, because he can indulge in the privacy of his own home sweet home, and no one would know.

Jana looks emicated in many of her pictures. Has she alawys been so thin or has something changed in her? She looks so frail and slight. It seems she became more and more like this after her mission trip with JD. Maybe seeing the appaling living conditions changed how she view consumption of food and material goods. Just a thought

Maybe it's just me, but that "Kids eat free" sign looks a lot like the cover of the Riverside Chaucer, which is what I thought it was at first before I realised the Duggars would never read Chaucer. Can you imagine one of the J'Slaves reading The Wife of Bath's prologue or anything in Middle English?

Generally I'd agree, and I certainly think it was immoral when they did this with two adults and a dozen or so children. However a lot of these "kids eat free" promotions only apply to children twelve and under. I didn't see anything about age restrictions on the restaurant website, but the kids' menu is for ages twelve and under so I would assume the free food is as well. In that case the Duggars have 10 kids eating for free and 14 adults (including those two women I don't recognise), which is more favourable proportions for the restaurant than a family with two adults and two or three kids, unless I'm missing something that makes a ~1.5:1 adult:child ratio worse when there's 24 people than when there are 5.

That said, with a group that large they should have left a very generous tip, which I somehow doubt they did.

I think Michael is very cute. I think he is cuter than Mckyenzie. Not to be cruel, she looks like a Cabbage Patch doll. Out of Boob and Mullet's family, I think Josie and Hannie are the cute ones out of the little bunch.

As long as they stay kids. The male Duggar kids don't seem to age well. The females get all the benefits of dentistry, plastic surgery, etc.

As for where I live, I admit to being a foodie and I live in the Gourmet Ghetto on the other side of the bay from San Francisco. So yeah, it's a VERY competitive market and you have to BRING your A game to survive around here.

FWIW, foodies DO comment on Yelp around here. Their reviews have been very helpful and steered me to dishes I might not otherwise have ordered.

Agree that Smugs was probably ready to order seconds on the steak when he got his portion, which is what we SHOULD be eating, unlike the Olive Garden and his other "Eye-talian" haunts.

I live on the other side of the Caldecott Tunnel from you, and yeah even out my way we have serious foodies writing reviews on Yelp. My food interests lay more of the side of ethnic stuff and I have 5 kids, so I tend to stay away from the really foodie establishments.

Bay Area folks can be really intense about food discussion though. I'm a transplant from SoCal and sometimes I'm a little taken aback by just how vehement the local foodies can get *coughcough Alice Waters coughcough*.

I've just read a little of Anthony Bourdain's book, but I've read enough to know that he cannot abide Alice Waters. He considers her a big phony. He totes respects Tom Colicchio, however.

I really hope that they understand the fireworks maybe fun, but they are also serious business and seriously need to be taken seriously.
