I do this. I use onceamonthmom.com for recipes. She does a menu for 15-30 meals, breakfast and lunches too, and I just weed out things that my family won't eat and add other meals that they will. It normally takes me a weekend from start to finish, but it's a lot easier with a little one running around and my husband's work schedule being so unpredictable.

I just found out about onceamonthmom.com the other day! I've been looking through it. It's about time I do another month of cooking.

I just found out about onceamonthmom.com the other day! I've been looking through it. It's about time I do another month of cooking.

Thanks for these resources!!!11!1! (I really mean it, not being sarcastic at all). I make in advance and freeze to a lesser extent, in that when I make certain dishes (particularly lasagna, ravioli, soup, chili, waffles, and some desserts), I usually make about double and freeze the extra, but I don't do it in a very organized way. Part of the problem is that there's not too much extra room in our freezer (and I get disinclined to freeze things for a long time when things get freezer burn because the freezer gets opened and closed all the time), but recently someone offered me a VERY high quality, large deep freezer for $250 (probably worth at least $800 new), so I think that with this confluence of events, I will take the plunge & buy it off of him. Forgive me if this has been addressed. But the pic with Mike and his two grandfathers, he looks to have an undershirt along with his button up. Isn't it a tad bit HOT there, like in a previous pic it was 100 degrees? I don't get this family.

I always enjoy looking at the other instragram pictures that people post of the resturants Josh goes to. If you look at the other pics of Bordino's, almost all of them are of alcholic beverages or girls going out for a party night. Again Michelle's not wanting her family around booze goes out the window.

It still bothers me how on Josh and Anna's honeymoon episode when they went to the "fancy" steakhouse, he told her they would not be eating out like that again and they would be saving.

I didn't see the honeymoon episode, but they certainly eat out more than most folks. And I doubt they have saved very much of what they've made from the show. It's like Josh thinks it will go on forever.

As for the alcohol, Josh may be around it but I don't think he drinks it. I bet he spends a lot of time looking at porn on the internet though! I really believe that.

We have really liked our vaccuum sealer from costco. It prevents most freezer burn and you can reheat some foods, after they have defrosted usually, by tossing them in a pot of water that was brought to boiling and turned off immediately after the bag went in. We do it with cooked chicken pieces and a few others things. I think the bags are even microwaveable but I believe (not sure) you have to buy the name brand ones for this.

To stop freezer burn, I wrap everything twice or use two plastic bags/foil and plastic bag, etc. It certainly stops bread from getting 'burnt' & it seems to work for everything else, too.

And I love the way we go off on a tangent - just like conversations in real life.

I doubt he's started drinking - yet. But I can see him up all night looking at every type of porn imaginable when exhausted Anna is asleep.

My mother had a philosophy about kids and sweets. So long as we ate normal meals, she didn't much concern herself about what else we ate. My father was route salesman for a confectionary company and our enclosed back porch was usually lined with racks of all sorts of packaged cookies and snack cakes and pies. On top of that, my mother was an expert and occasionally obsessive baker, and so we came home every day to some homemade confection on the table.

Sweets clearly weren't a forbidden fruit in the household; they were all around us. And probably because they weren't a treat or luxury and not denied to us in any way, they didn't particularly interest us. Friends (who loved to visit, especially right after school let out) were amazed that none of us were overweight, and I can remember coming home from school and looking at the cakes and cookies and asking if we had any apples or cheese in the house instead. To this day, none of the five of us has a sweet tooth, and if I never saw another cookie or a piece of cake in my life, I'd be fine with that.

Josh's fast and furious weight gain and his obsession with toys and the internet are a direct result of his parent's repression. Because he's free from their prying eyes and direct disapproval, he's experimenting with tasty and interesting things foreign and unfamiliar to him, and his weight is proof that he's going over-the-top. And considering he hadn't been allowed to look at an even partially unclothed woman until his wedding night and never learned a thing about sex beyond what one might pick up at Lego Land, I can only imagine how exotic and fascinating internet porn must be for him.

Booze - even beer - probably scares him a little still, but as he begins to hang out with more mainstream folks, he may give it a try. Given that he's never had to develop any real self-control (Ma and Pa always controlled everything for him), I could see this becoming a problem for him as well.

I wish we could watch what happens to him after the show and money finally go away. He'll still be entitled as all hell, but reality might creep in, a little.
