Seewalds 46: Arugula, Rhododendrom, Milkweed, Dandelion, Foxglove, Dogwood, Nasturtium, Rhubarb...

To continue on the subject @Natalie22 and @Jigsaw3

Yes the Catholic school boards in Ontario can be explained from an historical standpoint and Natalie already did a good overview. For a long time (mainly since the 19th century), the Catholic church in Canada saw itself as the ''guardian'' of French Canadian culture within the country. French Canadians were massively Catholics, and usually quite religious. So the two came hand in hand. Essentially, the main components of the French Canadian identity were being French-speaking and Catholic (and maybe liking tourtière ;) )

Quebec made a huge shift in the 60s and 70s to secularize its social structure. Until then, all education, healthcare, social services  and such were run by the Catholic church. Ironically, only the ''protestant'' institution were secular. This massive change influenced the Québecois identity, but had a lot of consequences for the Francophones outside of Québec as well. A lot of people within these communities felt like they were being ''dumbed'' by their biggest ally. Québec was the province with the biggest French speaking population. If Québec was now neglecting the rest of French-speaking Canada; it meant the Francophones had to fend for themselves. A lot of them turned to the religious institution to help preserve French schools.

Even now, to this day, for us Quebecois, there's this stereotype that Francos from the North of Ontario are way much more religious than the average. It stems from that.

I knew I would disagree with some of the changes made. I’ve come to realize my opinions on home Reno are very different from mainstream opinions. I would have kept the blue tile in the bathroom. It was such a pretty color of blue. And it looked like it was in good condition. You can update a bathroom without getting rid of every single thing in the bathroom.

Plus the extremely open kitchen, dining, and living area bugs me. I’m ok with semi open. But completely open is not ok with me. Maybe because my kitchen always has a few dishes or mess in it and I don’t want that to be the first thing seen when you walk in my door. But that will happen in this house now that she’s taken down all  the walls. You will walk in and immediately see the kitchen and probably any dishes in the sink. I know homes don’t have to look perfect. But I swear there’s always a dish or 30 in my sink and I don’t want everyone seeing it. My dad built a house and it’s open concept like that. It’s their biggest complaint. The kitchen is open for everyone to view from almost any part of the house. I think people will start to push back against the extremely open concept and start to add a few walls here and there.

It sort of is in the way that it’s completely wide open in the kitchen, living, and dining rooms. I guess if you plan on having a ton of kids, you want it to be wide open so you can always watch them.

Plus it's what Jessa is used to.

Wonder if Jeremiah and Hannah will buy Jessa’s old house?  I’m glad for them; their house is very cramped for six people.

I think it’s actually bigger than Erin and Chad’s house. And they are adding kid #5 very soon.

Jessa or Erin? Jessa isn’t pregnant although she was in the beginning of the video because they bought the house before Ivy was born. If you meant Erin, then yes. It’s a fucking miracle. 🙄

Thank you, I was referring to Jessa because she was pregnant in her video tour.  I did’t listen to it or think of the timing with Fern.

They’ve been working on the house for awhile. I’m guessing they are just now finished and moving in. And that’s probably why she’s releasing videos now.

Jessa shared another Braggie post. I sincerely hope for Spurgeon, Henry, and the plants' sake that it's not her overt dislike of her children that Jessa finds relatable.

I see more similarities between JillRod and Braggie. Don’t get me wrong, Jessa has always rubbed me the wrong way. But I see Jessa a little bit more like one of the Baird sisters from girl defined. A smug self satisfied fundie who thinks she’s always right.

They didn't buy this house. It's the pastor house on Immanuel Baptist's property. The only property listed in the Seewalds' names is the Mold House.

I know people on Reddit were saying that but no one linked to any documentation (though that was probably because showing addresses is against their sub policies...)

If it's true, then I'm bewildered at Jessa and Ben's logic. Why would you ever invest that much of your money into remodeling a property that doesn't belong to you?

It doesn't make sense does it.

Why spend your own money( all your hard earned savings ha ha) on a house that is not yours, that you will move from if you get another job, or get replaced.

Mind you, free rent? free utilities? church property so no tax? Perhaps the church are paying some of the cost of renovation and Duggar brothers'  labour is free, and all of their savings they are putting in to the renovations don't amount to much

I hope this house is in a much better location than their current home. They could have easily added on to their current house-

Is this the church where Ben purportedly works?

It makes no sense at all. I know two ministers both of whom bought their own property either to lease out or as a holiday home while living in the manse- to ensure they had somewhere to live not tied to work!

And no one does major work in manses - that's the church's property team
