I am seeing these images starting to pop up on FB. :(

One of my cousins posted this on facebook. I explained very calmly how in-person votes were counted right away, and how most of them were for Trump (y'know, since he told everyone to VOTE IN PERSON), and most of the absentee ballots (which is a legal and valid way to vote) is going to take longer to count-and most of them were going to be for Biden, a Pew Research Poll indicated that at least 51% of people who said they were voting absentee also said they were voting for Biden. And ALSO due to the pandemic, there were a LOT of absentee ballots.

I told him that there wasn't any evidence of voter fraud.

OH LORD. He gave me 'evidence' from The Blaze. From a guy's Twitter feed where there was also the fake picture of PornHub on CNN. And called me delusional when I told him that those were propaganda sites. It's been a wild ride with him today.

Such a sad sorry loser...

I’m with Trump on this, I know how he feels.

On payday I have such a big lead on building up my savings, only to see it miraculously disappear as the days went by just because I make a house payment, car payment, buy groceries...

How dare additional activity change any situation!  /s

Core message I absolutely agree with.  But as Finland is not even half the population of Pennsylvania which is only our 6th most popular state we will always by necessity have more complicated election processes than smaller countries.

And now I want to look up how they verify each person only voted once without registration.

Well, he says without registration. People are already registered because they live in the country and the country knows who lives there. So without registration means you do not have to go to the DMV or whatever Americans have to do in many (not all, as far as I understand?!) areas, in order to even be allowed to vote.

I don't live in finland, but its similar in my area, i suppose.. if i vote in person, then I will go into the place and be greeted by my first name, because it is a local area. I can only vote there though, if i didn't request a mail in ballot, and I will be cross referenced against a list. I can only vote in that one area I am registered in, which is where my main home adress is registered. If you are not sure you will be home at the election date, you can request a mail in ballot, and then you don't go to the place and make sure you return the mail in ballot by the deadline. mostly 2 or three days before election day (since elections are on sunday)

That being said, I'm learning so much about the american voting system, and so much about it is highly absurd to me. mostly the electoral college obviously, but yeah..

Biden Taps Adviser on Economic Regulation

Biden will name Gary Gensler as an adviser on issues involving Wall Street and regulation of markets, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday. It’s not clear exactly what this means in terms of Gensler’s role, namely whether he will be advising Biden on which policies to propose as president, working during the transition to help Biden choose his presidential economic team or being positioned to take a key role on that team himself.

This news is interesting for two reasons. It suggests Biden is moving forward in trying to start planning his administration even though he has not yet been declared the winner of the election by most outlets. Also, Gensler is allied with Sen. Elizabeth Warren and favors more strident regulation of Wall Street, so this choice is getting plaudits from more liberal Democrats who have worried Biden might pick figures more resistant to regulations of Wall Street firms.

Gosh I had almost forgotten what it was like for the president to pick qualified people as advisors.

Can't wait for DeVos to fuck off.

This.  It was skillfully and carefully done.  The votes were in specific pockets of states that he needed and, possibly, didn't have great IT support.  I understand that I'm into tinfoil hat territory but I always felt that the difference in the exit polls and the vote tally was very telling.

Well, I think this exact scenario would be highly unlikely. If Trump had been in Clinton's shoes in 2016, he’d have gone the exact route he is currently using.

Deep fried butter with bacon grease dipping sauce.

I read a book, the title of which I forgot, about a woman who tried to kill her father by giving him fatty foods. The father’s doctor said he had to cut out all the fat or he would have a heart attack. His daughter cooked everything soaked in butter

Why don’t they understand it’s the exact opposite of Ohio which counted mail in first and Biden’s initial huge lead died as they counted in person ballots which gave it to Trump.

you don’t see Biden bitching about it because he clearly understands how math works.

I think they should have Trudeau do it.  Let him call the WH and ask for Joe.  Then “oh, right he hasn’t moved in yet.  So sorry, I’ll call back in January.”

Then hesitate and say "Um, while I've got you, though, is Melania there?"

That'll sting.

They're not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed, are they?

Wait until they start showing up in the places Trump won and demanding that more votes be allotted to him.

I wish more states would follow the Colorado / Washington example of early voting. When I was a poll watcher, there were some people who seemed to be voting on election day for the thrill of standing in line, but most people seemed to fill out their paper ballot and turn it in early.

I’ve been a permanent vote by mail voter for 20 + years. I vote as soon as the ballot comes, and in this last election, had the ability to track the ballot’s return  to the Election’s Office. I can’t imagine waiting to vote until Election Day or standing in line. In a pandemic, no way! I’m in CA-

Now I really wish I'd made a sound clip of Bro Gary's prayergasm, moaning "Oh, yes! Yes, Lord, please!"

Typing it out just doesn't seem strong enough to express how I feel.

Many states have now adopted early and no reason mail-in voting...VA and NC did this year.

I've always liked the ritual of going to vote, was always near my official address on voting day, could always find a time  to go, and never even thought about finding out if I could vote via mail.

But I'd downloaded and printed the form requesting a mail-in ballot for my Mom (I'm trying to remember when her knees got bad enough that lots of standing and walking was no longer possible - 2014 may have been the first year), so I just filled out the online one for me as well, for the primaries and general election this year, and we both had ballots sent to us.

It's nice to know I have both options.

I want names of who is leaking this stuff.  I personally think he'll be long gone and President Pence will have his and mother's bags neatly packed and waiting by the door.

Can Trump resign and have President Pence pardon him for whatever he knows he's guilty of?
