Lady Lydia: Still Living in an Alternate Universe

Lady Lydia has made tons of videos about drinking tea and dressing in pretty dresses again. And I think she's got the empty nest syndrome since she's filled her house with a shit ton of fabric pumpkin babies.

It's definitely not clutter, it's a toy she put there to save space and for the delight factor. Random toys neatly spaced around your childless house are useful containers for rocks. If you leave toys on the floor they might be in the way and you could stub your toe or stumble on them. But if you put pumpkins in them they're safe and it's all good.

Lady Lydia wants you to exercise and get into shape but please don't overdo it. Five minutes is plenty, and if you can't do all those reps try at least one.

Quote

Todays Challenge:

1.Good, Lovely and Wise Thoughts:  Substitute any  dreary thoughts or fears with thoughts of  how you want things to be, what you'd like to see, and good things you want for yourself and your family

2.  Unclutter: Remove things that don't belong, remove things in crowded areas, for a spacious, streamlined look to your home.

3. Five minutes for exercises of your choice, and remember to breathe.

4. Make a list for the next day of things you'd like to accomplish or experience in your home.

...

Homemaking Challenge #2:

Preparation: Skin care

Work: Put something in order in the home I have been avoiding

Create: Something from ordinary materials.

...

Challenge # 4

Dress and appearance before anything!

1. Make a list of things that are possible to achieve, and follow it.

2. Choose some publications and books to look through that may help you regain interest.

3.Rearrange something, even if it is a small area of the home.

4. Find a 5 minute exercise to follow.

...

Day 4_

Here are the 4th day challenges:

1, Listen to the first part of the radio program which deals with preparation..

2.Change something about the interior of your home.

3. Find a 5 minute exercise routine that suits you, your age, health, etc.  Just do whatever you can and please don't think you have to keep up.just do one or two of each. Don't rush to judgement and say it is impossible, because you could do one of each! Look around on her site for 5 minute easy, beginner workout routines.

4. During relax time, watch this. (still life video of a pretty house with romantic clutter)

...

Challenge #5:

Exercise 5 minutes--find a video on YouTube that suits you. I use Fabulous 50's.

Personal care and preparation before beginning the many duties at home.

Create a master list.

Do your daily work (the things most urgent) and add one thing from your master list.

Put something away that you have been neglecting.

Reduce Anxiety before bed:  Stretch exercise before bed . a relaxing bath, something good to read, or a pleasant movie after retiring.

Remember, as I said in the video:  Do not allow your mind to shut down.

Do not allow your muscles to shut down. Do not allow your creativity to shut down.

...

Day 6

Today's Challenges:

Find a sit-in-a-chair exercise and follow as best you can.

Make a list and do everything on it.

Clean out something you use every day, such as your personal care container.

Read something aloud.

She intended this as encouragement and inspiration for homemakers but it's making me sad. The lists give me the notion that daily life in general is a challenge. All the challenges are basically the same: "Exercise for five minutes unless it's too much for you. Make a list of everything you should do. Do  at least one thing, clean something. Remember to breathe. Did you remember to put on clothes? Don't think sad thoughts." (and she forgot #3 and put #4 twice)

It sounds like she has some sort of untreated depression, TBH. Basic life tasks shouldn't be that difficult.

@AmazonGrace,  do people really need to be reminded to breathe and to get dressed?   I even put on a clean t-shirt and panties this morning.  Pants will be put on closer to the time for my doctor's appointment.

Yeah I don't know, I think it ties into that daily-life-is-a-depressed-struggle thing... Lydia thinks you should dress up in pretty dresses even when doing dirty housework because  she thinks it makes you feel like a more important person and to believe that your work is worthy and that your family sees that you value them and the home because you dress up nice for them and not just to go out. But if you need flowery dresses to remind yourself that you are doing something worthwhile it sort of implies that it's a bit of a challenge to feel or believe good things about yourself....

an ordinary person wouldn't--I'm confident that you'll leave the house with pants on--but @Maggie Mae and @AmazonGrace have raised a good point, and I now see some Maxwellian vibes in that post.  I wouldn't be surprised if Teri's Almighty Shedule said "get dressed, brush hair" at various times.  Lydia may be in need of similar structure for similar reasons.

Recently she posted a link to an Epoch News  video, a Falun Gong affiliated site that promotes conspiracy theories.

For ladies who are spending Christmas alone, she has posted photos of her decorations and this home alone challenge:

Screenshot_20201226-094030.thumb.jpg.6cdfd422129d63bac3de1ec591c7037c.jpg

Most of it is the same as any other list she's ever posted but I love it how she casually adds writing a story there, as number ten, and number eleven is a to-do list of things that are in danger of getting urgent. Any story I've ever written took days or weeks or months or years to  finish and most of the not-yet-urgent stuff really can't wait that long.

As for taking out another place setting when drinking tea alone, I would find it sadder, like I'm Miss Havisham or something.

clean something

learn something

teach something

and

prepare to be called upon to provide help in some capacity, whether online or in person to your loved ones in the family.

Add 5 minute warm-up exercise (find some videos online) to your preparation routine. They can help in many ways other than getting fit.  (Improves the complexion and memory).

Create advantages from the world's political "captivity" and use the home for many things.

The Bible provides a great source for a curriculum on many different subjects:

earth science

nature studies,

and much more.

Uh what insights applicable to any modern legal system or current understanding of science can you get from reading the Bible?

Lydia is taking "you are not to leave the house" rather seriously as she's staged a luxury train ride at her home.

Spoiler

I am gathering notes for the next talk, but it will be a few more days before I can make a broadcast. I am busy getting ready for the luxury train trip for my children and grandchildren. Some of them are coming early so I only have time for this brief message.  One of the children has cleverly created tickets for the passengers, which I will receive at the door. For those of you who haven't kept up with me, my home is the train. I have spent quite a bit of time watching luxury train videos and looking up the itinerary, menus and activities.  I have the cabins, the dining car, lounge car, off-train activities and have even ordered some train whistles. I hope I don't regret that.

I thought you might like to see the invitation I sent:

Join us for the two day trip on the luxury train called The Royal.

A steward will bring a wagon to your car in the parking area to allow you to load your luggage to be brought to the train.

The guest rooms at The Manse are turned into sleeping cabins and there will be off-train excursions.

The dining car will be open for Scottish lunches. British tea fare is served in the English Garden gazebo during a stop.

As with all luxury trains there will be activities, lectures, live music ( train tunes) and a listen to real train whistles of the nearby passing freight train in the morning and a passenger train in the evening.

The observation car will be the front porch. Please do not use it during the upcoming rain storm.
I’m in training for the foot races during an off train excursion.

Since some luxury trains have programs like cooking lessons, select passengers will be shown how to eat boiled eggs in an egg cup. ( I only have two egg cups).

Last month at The Inn, the art director taught how to make board games. This month on The Royal, will be featured making jigsaw puzzles.
We will also be having theatre in the evenings when there no longer any visible scenery. Passengers will all have a role, including prop maker and stage manager.

Passengers will have self service hot beverages in their cabins before breakfast and throughout the day. Each cabin has its own coffee/ tea center with electric kettle, distilled water and English teas, coffee. Lime and lemon wedges provided for for that morning health giving, anti virus drink.

Due to sudden stops, the Royal requires all baggage stowed under table or chair in cabins, out of the pathways. The owner is not liable for accidents and carries no insurance.

Each passenger is required to present one thing for a “ teach something—thrive class” session. I expect to hear the history of trains and much more.

We have researched and chosen menus from The Royal Scotsman luxury train.

In lieu of fare for this exclusive trip, each passenger can choose one “ working holiday “ job, from computers to screen door repair to overhead light bulb replacement.

ALL ABOARD!!!!

The management.

It looks like children had fun playing, the more mature guests helped with her chores, and she got to live in a fantasy world for a while so it looks like a win-win situation all around.

Lydia talks about a Bible quote that she didn¨'t look up

I did and it's either Ecclesiastes

Quote

Ecclesiastes 11:9-10

9 Young people, enjoy your youth. Be happy while you are still young. Do what you want to do, and follow your heart's desire. But remember that God is going to judge you for whatever you do.

10 Don't let anything worry you or cause you pain. You aren't going to be young very long.

or from cclesiastes 12

Quote

1 So remember your Creator while you are still young, before those dismal days and years come when you will say, "I don't enjoy life."

2 That is when the light of the sun, the moon, and the stars will grow dim for you, and the rain clouds will never pass away.

3 Then your arms, that have protected you, will tremble, and your legs, now strong, will grow weak. Your teeth will be too few to chew your food, and your eyes too dim to see clearly.

4 Your ears will be deaf to the noise of the street. You will barely be able to hear the mill as it grinds or music as it plays, but even the song of a bird will wake you from sleep.

5 You will be afraid of high places, and walking will be dangerous. Your hair will turn white; you will hardly be able to drag yourself along, and all desire will be gone. We are going to our final resting place, and then there will be mourning in the streets.

6 The silver chain will snap, and the golden lamp will fall and break; the rope at the well will break, and the water jar will be shattered.

7 Our bodies will return to the dust of the earth, and the breath of life will go back to God, who gave it to us.

Somehow she's taken that to mean that young men and women shouldn't move out from their parents' home in order to live their own life.

She thinks the hard times in that quote means you will have to pay for your living and be at work in time.

These fundies have absolutely no biblical knowledge beyond what's written on the page. I swear they're all idiots. Her "meaning" has nothing to do with the passage. Another wonderful example of fundies making some shit up and finding a scripture to justify their stupid shit.
