This was too good not to share. She and her husband are on a road trip. Apparently, she has been isolated in her shabby chic alternate reality for so long that: 1. She didn't know speed limits went up to 70. 2. She didn't realize cities are crowded places. 3. She doesn't seem to understand that tea rooms aren't as plentiful as fast food restaurants. 4. She forgot that you have to push buttons in an elevator to make it move. https://homeliving.blogspot.com/
danvillebelle posted a topic in Lady LydiaI decided to peek in on our old friend Lydia this morning. She posted a picture of a Walmart bathroom. Because a vase of fake flowers on the sink "reminded her of the old luxury dept. store restrooms." I shit you not (pun intended). Behold - the luxury Walmart bathroom.
Lady Lydia delivers the news from one of her favorite bloggers, Housewifely Haven, that schedules are bad. Lydia puts her own special cranky spin on it, but the original poster makes it clear that schedules are for women who have jobs outside the home. Take THAT, Maxwells!
Lady Lydia has uploaded a post with a video She is upset after reading the yearbook and finding out that none of the girls wrote that their ambition is to be a housewife, mother or get a temporary career until they can get married and work in their husband's business. She wants to have a booth in the career day so she can tell girls that the best thing for them to do is to stay home and spend all day cooking and cleaning and waiting for their husband to come home from work and give them a kiss to appreciate the cooking. http://homeliving.blogspot.com/2016/06/girls-graduating.html Girls are wasting their youth studying and creating careers when they could be married already.
Lady Lydia has started making videos about how to live like she does. She has a whole video practically devoted to the Victoria magazine. She used it for her homeschooling. They were just amazed when the magazine came out because it was printed on nice paper and had a page that showed a painting. They had never seen anything like that. The magazine also had houses with floor plans which they just loved. It seems like a lot of her homeschooling revolved around these magazines and trying to live like people did back in the "old days". She has six videos up, but I haven't watched them all. They are on the boring side.
I searched the archives here and didn't find much in the way of references to her other than her connections to "Lady Lydia". http://countryvictorian.blogspot.com/ I actually knew her over 20 years ago. About twelve years ago, I attempted intelligent conversation with her and she had no interest in it (or any capacity to do anything but spout the same nonsense she thinks comes from the Bible). Eventually all she had left was "I knew your mother and she would be so ashamed of you" and banned me from any further interaction. For best results, turn her site into a drinking game. Take a drink every time she refers to being a "Titus Two" woman (and I guarantee the entire reading experience will become much more entertaining quickly). Double shot if you come across any reference to "Modest Tea". Apparently her idea of Victorianism is far different from the historical reality. homeliving.blogspot.ca You know those sites where they show beautiful Pinterest-style craft or project and then someone's horrible attempt at same? Lady Lydia did that to herself in this amazing rendition of a Victorian spat. I truly hope that she not only wears these in public but gives them as gifts to everyone on her list.
