In Jordan Niednagel's latest blog post, he reports: "Melanie [Thomas] and Ben Wong stopped by on their way back from a funeral in Arkansas." Do we know what's going on there, what the relationship is? It sounds like they were traveling together without a proper escort (gasp!).

Jordan's FB page lists a Lisa Tucker Wong as a friend. Looks like Ben is one of her sons. Her FB page has a photo of his EMT Academy training completion.

Melanie Thomas is one of the "older" SAHDs that has watched younger siblings get married. She use to update the family blog. Still not sure what Pa Thomas does. Good for Melanie if she finally found someone.

I don't think this has been mentioned here, although it's being discussed in the Anderson forum: Oldest son Solomon, all of 16 years of age, is "dating with marriage in view." I don't think the name of the girl is known (although we have seen several pictures of her), but I might be wrong on that, so please someone correct me. Zsu discusses it a little bit in the comments under this picture:

Isn't he a bit old to consider marriage ?  I mean 16 is pretty much over and  coffin age .

According to a poster in the FLoP thread, Karen Shupe is engaged, having dated her fiancé since October. Erika and Bob are apparently displeased and refuse to even meet the guy (as the guy didn’t ask Bob who could then “oversee” the relationship). 

That whole family sounds like a massive train-wreck.

Karen does have a profile picture with a guy so I figured she might have a boyfriend. Poor Karen. Her very first relationship and she's already engaged. It's like they never left fundiedom.

Followers of the J-Rods might recall the Plath family, friends or acquaintances of theirs. Large, homeschooling, musical (with some actual talent) family, almost uncannily blonde offspring, and tragically the mother accidentally killed one of her sons by running him over a few years ago. Anyway, it came up in a J-Rod thread a couple of months ago that the oldest, Ethan, who was speculated to be Nurie's mystery suitor, is actually engaged to a girl called Olivia Meggs (also from a large fundie family). Apparently he handwrites her a letter every day, which plays into his probably deliberately cultivated old fashioned persona - he has an old fashioned hairstyle for a 19-year-old, restores vintage cars for a living, plays ragtime accordion music, and generally gives off very earlyish 20th c. vibes in his looks and mannerisms (in my opinion).
