Lori and the PP collide

Recommended Posts

In all seriousness, I wonder if she did... we hadn't discussed her last few posts at all, and I think we are the most attention she gets for her blog. Plus, when we disagree, she gets to play the martyr hardcore.

I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case. Sometime back it was mentioned, that she isn't getting a lot of comment on FB either. I do think she has turned off some of her readers and I think she likes to play a martyr.

If you read the older comments, Ken admits that he stopped at four kids because he was worried about his retirement account.

I do think Alyssa truly does have fertility problems (she posted about it once on facebook). But if I was one of Lori's kids, and I wanted to delay chidbearing, it would be easier to say I had fertility problems than to tell her I was using BC till my "ducks were in order."

I'll betcha Cassi, the younger daughter, is using BC. After all, she's been married about 7 months, and she and her husband are quite young. Odds are, without BC, they'd have gotten pregnant sometime during this first year of marriage.

Same with the super-son, Mr. Orthodontist. With his wife in law school (or newly graduated), I'll bet he is using BC too. Plus, he is just starting his practice and probably needs her income.

I think Lori should stop worrying so much about what young people are doing (how they dress, if they are "dating", if they are pure, if they are using BC) and develop a hobby. You can't control them anyway, Lori, give it up!

Do you think Lori woke up this morning and though "how can I be MORE controversial?"

What's next Lori? A lesson on How to keep your bedsheets pristine by the Grand Wizard of the KKK?

Thank your for the laugh Curious. As I said in another post, I wouldn't be surprised if she did this for controversy and to play martyr. But if she didn't, she could have found another blogger or less controversial person to use in her blog entry about being against birth control and having a large family.

From the entry

I know of a young woman who is very sick all nine months of pregnancy. She's currently pregnant with her fourth baby. She struggles with wanting more children because she gets so ill, but the joy her children bring in their lives is worth it. She is being a living sacrifice for godly offspring. There is NOTHING better in life than raising godly offspring for the Lord, if the Lord blesses you with them.

This reminded of a Mormon mommy blogger NieNie who is pregnant with sixth child and has burn injuries from a plane crash. During Nie's last pregnancy she had morning sickness issues and right now she is saying the same thing about her current pregnancy. I think if Lori knew about NieNie, I could picture her blogging about a Mormon burn victim is continuing to have children despite morning sickness and other health issues. But I don't think Lori knows or has heard about NieNie, so she ended up using PP and his sermon video for her entry. NieNie is disliked for a lot of reasons, but she would haven't too controversial. The Pp and Zsu scare more than NieNie and Christian.

I just hope Lori using a PP sermon kind of bites her in the ass and maybe she has received emails from people telling her about the PP's past. But we all know she won't acknowledge that on the blog.

I'm going to start calling my IUD an appliance.

I think Ken would like that word since orthodontal gadgets are also called appliances...

And on the large family topic: when I was a kid I thought I wanted a large family because my family is so small. It sounded fun, and cozy, and home-y. But as I grew up I learned about things intellectually that conflicted with that fantasy -- things like overpopulation, resource limits, etc. So I began to feel that it wasn't completely ethical to have lots of kids just because "it sounds fun". If I had really really wanted that large family strongly, I might have decided to adopt, or decided to justify my decision by concluding my family is the exception (ie the fundy approach). As it turns out, I never got married and have no kids. And I'm glad for no kids, as I don't think that life fits my personality or is compatible with the life I did choose. Of course I didn't know that at age nine when I was making up the big-family fantasy... My point is that I believe in balancing my aesthetic preferences with practical facts and situation -- and I'm very glad to have not had kids based on a whimsical thought I had 40 years ago...

Lori says she's "never heard of this pastor."

DO SOME EFFING RESEARCH LORI. No, seriously. This guy is a monster - maybe moreso than you. Google his effing name.

Ken reads here and knows full well who PP is. He probably suggested him to her.

I have, somehow, never actually watched a PP video and I did not expect his voice to be so...ew.

Also, when he said "women using appliances to prevent conception" I'm not gonna lie I could only imagine a woman taking apart a toaster and being like, "All right, how can I MacGuyver this crap before the husband gets home?"

On the subject of how superior (even necessary) it is for women to have lots and lots of children, Lori reminds me of the person who saunters into the kitchen just as one is finishing up all the post-meal clean-up, and asks how they can help.

She knows it's too late for her -- she's off the hook. So she can go for brownie points, talking about how deeply she believes in it.

It's actually the thing that pisses me off the most about Lori. She's an upper middle class mother of four who didn't ever need to contribute to the family income, who had access to a nanny and a cleaner, but who still chose to limit her family size.

But now she's past childbearing everyone should be Quiverful, no exceptions. If Lori could do it with four kids, a stable income, stable housing, domestic help, a supportive family and access to good public schools, everyone else should be able to do it with fourteen kids, a "self employed" husband with a "ministry" and no outside help, whilst homeschooling.

Lori advocates a far more fundamentalist and extreme lifestyle than she and Ken would ever live for themselves.

I would actually love Zsuzsanna to pop up on Lori's blog. She would not be impressed by the way Lori planned and raised her family, she would be horrified by Allyssa's dancing and the general worldliness of the family, she would tell Lori that using a nanny and sending her kids to school was not simply a bad choice but actually sinful, she would say that Ken put money before the sanctity of his marriage by employing and working closely with women, she would blast Lori for her years of not submitting to Ken and for using (and sabotaging) birth control, she would tell her that she and her daughters and daughters in law dress immodestly, she would have no sympathy for Lori's excuse of illness, she'd just say that God would never have given Lori more than she could handle and that she should have just sucked it up and prayed, she would consider the mega church they attend to be a hollow mockery of a REAL IFB church...... Oh, now I wish it would happen. I'd love to see Ms Titus 2 Mentor, guiding light to rebellious young wives, ripped to threads by one of those young wives for her hypocrisy and worldliness.....

Never having to practice what she preaches makes Lori extra insufferable. I wish Zsu Zsu would tear Lori to shreds because in this case she would actually be right. Lori is nothing but a lazy hypocrite and she can't hold her own against the people who actually live the life she claims is the only way to live.

I think lori has been escalating her controversy and drama since Ken visited us. She LOVES playing martyr and the more extreme she can be, the more she can play martyr to her leg humpers.

For a while after Ken was here or maybe even while he was here, it was clear she was getting the majority of her ideas for posts from us. She was called out on that several times here when it was happening a lot. Maybe they finally started reading threads about other people ;)

Ken says the punishment for porn use is going to bed early and doing the dishes. *facepalm*

Look, in my marriage, we are not okay with porn use. It's just a personal belief we have, for us. But sweet baby infant Jesus, if I went to my husband and confessed to looking at porn (and in my marriage, *I* am the one with the temptation to do this) and he gave me chores as punishment?! Oh hell no. Just. Hell no.

Exactly! It's really kind of gross. And also kind of hypocritical because in the scenario Ken described, the wife is treating the husband as a child who requires punishment.

We would all love that. A small part of me thinks that Zsu would pop up over there, but if she ripped Lori to shreds, there is no way Lori would let her readers know about it and I can't see her letting Zsu rant comments go through. As we have said here, there are many reasons why the Andersons would dislike the Alexanders like dancing, drinking wine, watching TV, etc. You brought up a good point with the megachurch Ken and Lori attend. Lori has never said the name of her church, but she gave away details in a posting that made it too easy to find and you are right PP and Zsu hate megachurches. The PP's buddy Pastor Donnie Romero bashed megachurches on his church site. Let's say by some weird reason, the Andersons and Alexanders start corresponding online. I bet once the church talk is brought up there would be drama.

Another thing the Andersons would dislike about the Alexanders is that Kenori's daughters have worked outside the home. The older daughter works part time as a ebil dance instructor and prior that she was a dancer in a Christian dance company. The younger daughter Cassi used to work at an orthodontist's office when she was living with Kenori and that daughter also has a college degree. Lori mentioned Cassi having a job a few times in the past, I don't think she has ever mentioned her other daughter working part time. I kind of think Cassi might have a job wherever she and her husband are now living, but Lori would keep that under wraps.

Lorken's church is a mainstream, evangelical church that uses the NIV and rock music. I've visited the church website and that's clear as day.

Lorken and PeePee have nothing in common.

if zsu happens to go there and tries to comment, and lori doesn't let the comments through, i wouldn't put it past zsu to go on her own blog and rant about it and then add something about not listening to rebuke or something like that. which is still hypocritical of zsu, but if it fits her agenda, she uses it. :P

I thought Lori was writing the post at first (and then it went on and on and on and on, so I realized I was wrong). Anyway, when I saw it started out with this:

I am not sure about shaming your husband over pornography,

And then had this:

The key to the accountability is not for the wife to act as if she just got shot every time he might say “Yes, I looked at porn.â€

I was shocked that I might agree with Lori about something (stop shaming your husband over porn!) and also shocked that she was essentially saying, "Don't play the martyr." But then it was Ken, and he got into his super-weird "punish your spouse like he's a kid" thing.

Lori wants to get everything through feigned martyrdom and passive-aggressiveness, and Ken treats everyone in his life like a disobedient, wayward child.

This could be remarkably entertaining. Even more so if Ken wanders over to Zsu's blog and gets his ass handed to him.

Lori let through a comment about the Pissing Andersons.

Hello Lori. What a blessing your blog is to me! I thank God and pray for you every day. I am concerned about the video you linked to, however. I have done some research on this "preacher", and I was very terrified of some of the things that I found regarding him and his wife, Zsuzsanna. While you and them do hold many of the same beliefs, this Anderson family appears to be steeped in a lot of hatred and bitterness. I would urge you to research them as well to come to your own conclusion.

In Christ,

Dani

Lori's response:

Thanks, Danielle! Everyone I quote or link to doesn't mean I agree with them 100%. Have you listened to his own sermons in context of what he has been accused of? I don't believe anything thrown at a minister of the Gospel unless I read, listen to, or watch them for myself. I know if you research the Pearls, you will only find out hateful stuff about them and think they are the worse people in the world. I only listened to this sermon by him and one on marriage and very much enjoyed them.

Lori STILL HAS NOT DONE ANY RESEARCH. She just assumes he's being "accused" of things. :angry-banghead:
