And per the most recent 11 Smiths blog, and considering how thin she usually is, it appears that both of the relatively newly married Smith daughters are expecting, as Amanda (married to Russell) is looking likely to be pregnant also.

Ugh, Russell's wearing a Confederate flag shirt. Gross. I hope she's not pregnant.

Looking at the Smiths' blog, Deborah is expecting a girl this month. Not sure if she's had her or not.

A Republican logo t-shirt AND a Confederate t-shirt in one photo, surely that has to win some kind of fundie bullshit bingo?

Close, it's Lydia Coghlan Hinrichs! I think the name is Felicity Faith. Lydia's MIL posted photos with that as one of the hashtags.

ETA: Or not. It looks like Felicity Faith is the name of Bradley's toddler sister who's now an aunt.

As per the Boyer sisters thread Brigid looks to be expecting.

I've been waiting for this.  She's been married for a while.

I was kind of hoping Amanda's husband would be too old to get her pregnant right away. I mean he's in his 60s. I know men always make sperm but as you age, your sperm aren't as great and I imagine he's not as horny as a newly married 19 year old fundie boy wanting to do it all the time. Maybe she will have just one and then no more after that. Imagine a fundie with an only child!

I know this was asked before how old is Amanda. Also does anyone know if her husband has other children. I can't imagine a fundie having only 1 child. Joy-Anna Duggar's husband comes from a small family that definitely surprises me.

He is old but he ain't dead ;)

Old men can be some of the most randy in my experience. Just sayin.

Especially now that viagra is around.

I wonder what fundies think of viagra....

I just noticed that Amanda's brother has been married for three years and they have NO kids. And her sister that has been married for almost 7 years only has TWO.

I suspect there are some fundies not leaving it up to god in the smith family...

Deborah is definitely pregnant (due late July, although no birth information yet). But I guess I'm not seeing things as clearly as the rest of you. I'm not totally convinced that Amanda is pregnant. By the way she's 35 and I think we figured he's in his mid-60s. As far as I know he hasn't been married before.

Anna had an emergency hysterectomy 8 weeks after her second birth. Not sure about Rachel and David.

Honestly after 13 months of marriage it's not super surprisingly she's pregnant.  But considering she's closing in on 40 and he's in his 60s I'd expect maybe 1 or 2 more after this.

Looking at the post, I think she's actually had 5 miscarriages in addition to losing Jachin. She says "15 pregnancies (five of which ended in miscarriage)" that leaves 9 pregnancies that have resulted in live births (including the twin pregnancy) plus the current one. In 2009 she mentions having 2 miscarriages: one just after finding out and one at 8-10 weeks. Presumably the other 3 have been since 2009.

Re: Zsu's miscarriages. She had 2 back to back miscarriages immediately before the Jachin & Boaz pregnancy, which she blamed on stevia while she was doing Trim Healthy Mama. The twins' pregnancy "stuck" after she quit using stevia. I remember her posting some angry comments on a THM blog at the time; I'm pretty sure it was discussed on FJ.

I didn't know that Anna smith had a hysterectomy. I wonder if they will adopt.

Also the Smith parents have been married for 48 years. So I imagine the older unmarried smiths are in their 30s. They might never get married. It seems the Smiths don't marry young so that will probably cut down on the amount of grandchildren they have. With 9 kids you would assume they would end up with a ton of grandkids. But at this rate, they may not end up with a bunch.

I have a soft spot for Amanda and Russell. I think that they're truly well suited, despite their age difference. I do worry that they will struggle to support a family financially if they have children. They both teach music lessons and Russell does play in a local symphony, but from experience as a musician, that makes for meager income, especially since he's going to have to slow down at some point due to his age.

I don't necessarily think she looks pregnant there, but I think they would be less toxic parents than many of our pet fundies, and I wish them happiness and a healthy pregnancy if that's in their future.

Yes, Anna had a hysterectomy two months after her son was born due to cysts that damaged her ovaries. It's been more than four years now, and I doubt very much that they will adopt.

Here's the blog entry where she discusses the circumstances: http://corbetts.com.br/happy-birthday-hudson/

It makes me wonder if some of her siblings will look at her small, happy, healthy, well functioning family and consider a small family for themselves. And the only brother that is married actually married a girl that is very different from his sisters. The Smith girls just seem so frumpy and extremely modest while the girl who married into the family is not frumpy and not overly modest. She seems modern fundie I guess. And their having no children yet tells me they are probably preventing.

The post doesn't explicitly say she had a hysterectomy and it wouldn't make sense to take out her uterus for ovarian cysts.  She probably had an oopherectomy.  (Removal of her ovaries.) Either way,  that was a sweet post about her son's birthday. He's a cutie too!

I doubt it, because that 'small, happy, healthy, well functioning family' was not a choice, and thinking about it is probably still tinged with heartache for everybody involved. Early on in Anna's first pregnancy, Steven responsed to a comment hoping for septuplets (something about the siblings not having to fight over who held the baby if there was one for each) by saying it would be a good head start towards the large family size they hoped for... two children would never have been their choice, though they seem at peace with it now.

I do think that the ages of the other Smith daughters makes most of their potential family sizes inherently smaller, despite likely wanting to have as many children as the good Lord gives them. For instance, Amanda might be thrilled with 'just' two. The brothers are another story -- maybe they will have more a "modern fundie" approach, but I think it's too soon to tell. I think they are a close-knit family that enjoyed having many siblings, and I suspect most will try to replicate that.

It's true that the Smith girls are the frumpiest of frumpy, although I think they are all beautiful and I find their carefree frumpiness rather endearing. Maybe that contributed to later marriages.

This is a random jumble of Smith thoughts, not sure where I was going with it.

You're right, I meant to edit earlier but you've covered it :)

They are all cute although frumpy. And Amanda and Russell seem well suited but it's too bad he's not 20-30 years younger.
