Dillards 90: Degrees, Exams, Vacations and Vaccinations, Oh MY!

@BlondeAgent007 like I say, I hope Jill is testifying of her own volition. Her separation from her family seems to have been enforced by the arsehole that is JB. From what she shows us, Jill is & wants to remain close to her siblings- let’s face it, she raised half of them.
Her decision to seek remuneration owed to her and to provide her sons with adequate education are 2 major diversions from the Duggar way. If Jill wants to tell her story, let her be heard. I’d hate to think she was forced by either side.

Jill loves a good braid and when you have layers, it makes braids hard when your hair is medium or shoulder length. Her current length allows lots of easy braids.

I have a similar skin tone and tried box blonde for a bit but it never suited me. Still was fun to change it up. I also did a lot of "shed the old crush / relationship" at home dye jobs to varying degrees of success.

I'm sure it's been a difficult few weeks for them with the pregnancy loss and the media circus and reminders of past trauma. I hope Jill is getting all the support she needs right now.

I experimented with different hair shades in my younger days, so see Jill as doing the same thing.   I don't know if Jill was raised with the idea of "hair color is bad, it makes you look trashy" that I was raised with (and all the more spurred my experimentation) but it seems probable.   This might just be one thing Jill is working out for herself and incidentally having fun in the process.

I actually like the color on her but wouldn't be surprised if she changes things up on a frequent basis.

Michelle is 55. What are the odds that she isn’t touching up her hair? Gotta look good for the husband (gag). I hate this cult.

I get the thought that she resembles Carly Simon, but initially I actually thought of Sheryl Crow…anyone else see that, too?

The Sun is reporting that Derek is sitting with Anna in court, being friendly, while Austin is there but ignoring them both.

I'm confused and concerned - coudl this mean Jill is testifying for the defence?😮

It means The Sun is trying to stir up drama. Derek got there early and sat up front in the family area. Austin came in later and took a seat in the back. That’s all.

Eh… we can’t really know what happened. A reporter across the courtroom could have seen them politely smiling and saying good morning, but nothing more. I have a very hard time believing Derick and Jill are on Josh’s side with this one, but I can definitely see them choosing to be adults who don’t cause drama with Anna, in a courtroom, when reporters are watching. Derick’s version of this might have just been a polite hello since he wanted to sit close enough to hear the lawyers whispering, while Austin’s was to sit farther away and wear a mask and not talk to anyone. I’m not going to take this as a hint that anything happened other than adults behaved politely.

I think Derek might see Anna as a victim and be polite to her. Austin could be keeping his distance because he (and Joy) are really just beginning to process the truth.

I think that Austin choosing to go today, when the most disturbing testimony was happening, after the revelations about Jane Doe #4 is a sign that they are trying to process and discover the truth and I think that is a good thing.

Can anyone speculate on why only Jill has been  subpoenaed and asked to appear in court and not Jessa and Joy?  Just simply because she’s the oldest and maybe has the most recollection of her abuse?  I could see Joy not being asked to appear, but Jessa and Jill are quite close in age.

Jill may have volunteered, instead of being subpenoed and she may have done it to spare her sisters. Jill is the one who had gone to therapy and is not beholden to her parents.

Jill also may be the most reliable witness. Joy was very young. I believe from the previous report it stated that Jinger was very traumatized and may have had trouble even telling the story then, which would make it easy to poke holes in and Jessa supposedly had to be told about it after.

Allegedly some of the girls were asleep while the abuse was occurring. Jessa legitimately might not have anything meaningful to contribute. Jill seems to have more of a recollection of what happened to her.

They only need one witness to read the police report into evidence. Jill was the old child involved, and has the least to lose now.

I think she may have volunteered. She's spent the past few years in therapy and working on herself. I think she has the strength to speak out now. She might also be right pissed about the whole thing, especially the gaslighting that goes all the way back to the original events. I really believe that her testifying for the prosecution is another huge middle finger to JB. All I can say about that is "Go Jill, take back all they stole from you". I wish you strength, love and success.

Purely guessing, but I’m an attorney and think Jill probably has the best (worst) info, there’s less concern for her recanting or “not remembering”, she’s cooperative, and she’s also the oldest of the known victims I think? It sucks to have any victim testify about horrific things , but it sucks even more the younger the witness is at time of testifying.

Derrick‘s suit looked so good!

When Josh was arrested Derrick's statement said something about feeling bad for Anna, imagine being in her position--maybe he thinks she'll have a wake up in court and need somebody who's not hell bent on defending Josh. Or maybe he's there to represent Jill. Or just wants to see what is going on (I would). apparently Austin was there and snubbed Derrick so I doubt he suddenly moved over to Team Duggar.

People magazine reports Derrick was sitting by. and talking to Anna. Who really knows what's up with that family? All the secrets and lies over the years, oh yeah and cult brainwashing.

There’s a person on the DuggarSnark sub on Reddit that was in the courtroom today and said that when it was shown, and it was only shown to jury on individual screens with no sound, not to the whole courtroom, a defense attorney stood in front of Josh to block anyone from seeing how he reacted to them watching it. Apparently Derick looked away from the jury despite not being able to see it himself. They also said that it was shown following a recess and that Anna didn’t return from the recess until after lunch, so the news outlets saying she walked out before it was shown is false.

I definitely can see Sheryl Crow as well. Though I must admit I had to look her up. I think it's a generational thing.

I would like to think that maybe Jill and Derick are hoping to reach out to Anna and help her find her way away from Josh. Cousin Amy was there for Jill and has helped her and provided a connection to family as Jill has walked away. Maybe they now hope they can do the same for Anna. If they act hatefully towards Anna that will only cause her to see them as heathans who have walked away from the right path. If they are supportive and loving maybe that causes her to pause and maybe someday if she’s ready to start slowly crawling away she’ll know she can turn to them for help.

Also, I think Joy was Jill's buddy? Maybe she knows the details of the attack because Joy went to her for comfort. Maybe she wants to get justice not just for what happened to her but also for her "daughter".

I think Derick’s religious beliefs leans more towards truth and being truthful. I believe that DD was never told the truth about Josh’s past abusive behaviors towards his sisters and other(s), and this really angers DD, because for all JB’s rules, questionnaires and legalistic leanings, at his core, JB is NOT truthful. In DD’s mind, Duggar cannot be trusted; is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
