I just recently started using a waffle-weave kitchen towel that I had stored away and, wouldn't you know, I've developed a THANG for waffle weave.

We also stayed somewhere that had waffle weave bath towels, and now I'm jones-ing for some on the home front.

I’ve been planning to buy some towels etc from a company in Alabama USA - one of the few manufacturers left here - and now I’m hoping like heck they offer waffle weave!!!!

I stopped getting high at parties years ago, after I realized the morning after one such party a thoroughly loaded me had refolded all of my hosts' towels the way I thought they should be folded.

I have kid-, dog- and house-sat for a friend many times over the past 17 years. I always like it when I’m there long enough to have a reason to use all of her kitchen towels, because it’s not so obnoxious when she comes home to find them all folded neatly that way. I think. ?

It is very odd that there is no "Resurrection Sunday" post. They do that every year.

That blog is on life support at this point. It needs a resurrection of its own.

No 'Happy Easter and by the way do you know where you will go when you die?' post from the Maxwell's today? They are getting lazy.

First Terry stops folding the dish towns and then Sarah shirks her blogging duties... what next? Might one of the girls go rouge and sleep in one day? Steve is losing control!

Very odd for them not to post for Easter Resurrection Sunday so I hope it's not indicative of something being amiss. ?

I agree - not posting for days is far off-schedule for them, especially when there is a religious holiday.  I hope that nothing bad has happened.

How’s Sarah Maxwell doing these days?

I don’t regularly read the Maxwell forum, but I think of poor Sarah from time to time.  I did go back and read a few pages, but I didn’t see her mentioned.

I really hope the answer is something like: Sarah’s so happy, she just got engaged to a triple A baseball player/rafting instructor.  She goes on fun outdoor adventures and adopted a collie mix.

Alas, she’s probably still just vest blogging for her dad, right?

For anyone who hasn’t read the blog recently, Sarah did have a concussion and then re-injured that so said she is going slow. Sarah has slowed down in general— the pace of books, the blog. Sarah has always seemed a bit somatic to me, carsickness, injuries that slow her down. I really feel like she was probably better suited for traveling life on Uriah and now they just don’t have that audience.

Dang!  I had no idea she had a concussion.  Then, a repeat concussion!?!  How awful!
How’d it happen?

The first time was “overly exuberant” exercise and the second time she whacked in on a (well-polished) cabinet door.

So since Teri put up the messsy towel post on Wednesday, there has been no new post. No post on Friday, no post for Resurrection Sunday, and no post for Monday. Count me in the people who think maybe something is wrong. I hope they're okay.

If it was a normal family I'd assume they were all just having fun and were too busy to blog about it.

But it's the Maxwells.

Hope all is OK, especially for Sarah.

I hope nothing is wrong— with the sunny spirited Gigi, or Anna Marie. My take on it is that the blog is very much Sarah’s thing/identity and that it would be her turf to post even the basic happy resurrection blog on her behalf. I don’t think I’m properly explaining myself; I’ve recently done a 2006-current read through of the blog, and the blog used to be a pretty big job. Reporting on the trips, travel, while on the road. Since they’ve stopped traveling it’s really scaled down— when Sarah saw the appeal of her Random Life (picture collection) she jumped on it and it made her job easier. They are so darn secretive about a lot of things, and everything else is so repetitive and boring. So, while Sarah is taking it easy with her concussion, my theory is that all of US see how easy it would be to post a greeting, in the Maxwell world that blog is such a big thing that they point to as Sarah’s thing.

Or maybe a sister got married! Wouldn’t THAT be exciting. My gross GOP representative got married over the weekend so some all-in Christians don’t mind the overlap with Easter.

(PS Madison Cawthorn is the worst.)

I hope nothing is wrong with any of them. I've been worried about Sarah since her concussion. Somebody acted like it wasn't a big deal, but a concussion is always a big deal and this one took months to heal from.

I doubt any of the sisters got married, but I like the idea.

Also I support your candidacy to represent your district and replace your congressman. You, obviously, are the better choice.

I hope we never have to have a "Vest in Peace" thread title.

@fundiewatch that's the district where I grew up.  I highly recommend listening to the last 3-4 minutes of his June 2020 interview with The Daily Caller, in which he tells how he met his now-wife.  The terms "kompromat" and "honey trap operation" came to my mind when I heard it.

@Bluebirdbluebell I’ve thrown a donation or two towards the lesbian pastor running against him— I am not the woman for the job I promise! @HereticHick we just moved here I’m September and I was AGHAST when he won! I will check out that clip, thank you!

I worry about Sarah’s concussion, and am so cognizant of the mental health effects that can occur from having to put things on pause. Many times on the blog over the years they have talked about how she doesn’t miss a workout etc. Her whirlwind is a snails pace for most people but I imagine she’s feeling the effects of her slow down.

I think she suffers from untreated clinical depression.  My guess that is the main reason she is not married.  Sarah is a pretty girl who seems to have a number of interests. She is an excellent photographer.  I think it is sad she is not getting counseling and/or medication.

There are lots of reasons normal families might not post for Easter but the Maxwell's? Add me to the list of people wondering what is going on.

I think Sarah has checked out of blogging and this concussion  issue is as good of a reason as any to take a break. So that might be it. Alternatively, Steve might be the one who is ill. He has not looked well in a long time and has a known history of heart disease. I doubt that Anna or Mary are engaged but would not be surprised if one of the SIL's is pregnant. All in all a mystery.

I always imagined that the Maxwell's scheduled their posts. So anything being posted this week would actually have been written and scheduled weeks ago. This makes me think that nothing is wrong- because I don't think it would cause a missed post.

Sarah’s on doctor’s orders to reduce screen time and to rest to properly heal her concussion, so the fact that she’s not posting is a good thing. Maybe I’m wrong and something else is amiss, but I just think the blog is considered Sarah’s terrain and it had to slow down when she did.

That's the one thing I really don't understand with the Maxwells. Why do they even blog if they don't want to share any information? I don't mean they are obliged to share medical details about Sarah's head injury, but just a couple of sentences for their readers like: With everything going on (Sarah's, Anna Maria's and Steve's health issues) blogging isn't a priority for us right now. Posts will be irregular for the time being.

They may don't have that many followers but probably they still have some regulars. It's just strange to me they don't even explain the situation. Do they think nobody will notice that something is amiss?

Regarding a potential wedding: wouldn't be a wedding at Easter unusual? (Maybe not. I have no idea what U.S. fundies regard as a proper wedding date...)

One of the Duggar boys just got married over Easter. Seems odd to me too but then much of what fundies do seems odd to me.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

Well, the rash is back with a vengeance. It never completely cleared up. I saw the derm yesterday and they did another swab and yup, raging infection again, still? It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
