Even if DT refuses to leave on Jan 20, won't all the employees who do things like, say, cook his meals or receive deliveries to the White House, either be gone or be "unavailable" to him on that day?

I won't scream it like Crazy Kimberly, but will say it gently, hopefully - perhaps the best is yet to come.

Does this also mean no lap dances or hot tub parties? :wink-kitty:

Just read more on Esper and I'm nervous now.

Quote

In an extraordinary break with Trump, Esper told reporters in June that he did not support the invoking the Insurrection Act, a law from 1807 that would allow Trump to deploy active-duty U.S. troops to respond to civil unrest stemming from protests against police brutality across the country.

“I say this not only as secretary of Defense, but also as a former soldier and a former member of the National Guard, the option to use active-duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort, and only in the most urgent and dire situations. We are not in one of those situations now,” Esper said.

“I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act,” he added.

So he fought against Trump using martial law on protesters.

And as he's going to continue his rallies I hope to God the new acting Secretary of Defense doesn't allow him to sic the military on citizens.

(Hey Pence, dumbass...this is the time to talk to people around article 25'ing this dangerous lunatic.  You get credit for saving American from his worst impulses and can spend the rest of your life known as "President Pence."  Easiest gig in the world...just sign off on the transition and coast for a few months.)

Sources told CNN they feared Glick's ouster could imperil the ease of a potential transition between a Trump and a Biden presidency at the agency that oversees America's international development and humanitarian efforts.

Bonnie Glick was told on Friday she had until 5:00 PM today to resign or be terminated.

She was the deputy administrator of USAID, the second highest-ranking official at the US Agency for International Development.

She's the first one where it's actually feasible to keep her traditional 9-5 job. Michelle couldn't continue to teach? in Chicago when they lived in DC. I think Truman hired his wife as an aide, as she was not into the whole "first lady" thing. Nancy Reagan was an actress before the White House so technically she continued to work by filming all those PSAs about drugs and appearing in public. I don't know if Laura Bush worked before the White House. Barbara would have been past the age of retirement regardless. Betty Ford was a dancer. I don't know anything about Roselyn Carter.

Edit: forgot Hillary. Well, she worked behind the scenes and eventually ran for the office herself. But she was a politician and lawyer before she was first Lady.

Bess Truman was not hired as anything. She hated Washington and spent a lot of her time at home in Missouri. Nancy hadn't acted for years (much like her husband). Laura Bush quit her job the moment she married into old money. Betty Ford had been a politician's wife for many years as had most others. Hillary worked as an attorney to support the family while Bill was governor of Arkansas as it was among the lowest paying state governments in the country; she was an unpaid advisor for health care in his administration.

Jill Biden taught at Northern Virginia Community College throughout her time as Second Lady so she and the school know how the drill works. I'm sure it is a part time position. She took a leave of absence this year for the campaign, but does plan to return for the next semester. Mrs. Pence, incidentally, has been teaching art part time at a private Christian school in DC for a few years now. Anyone know what Doug Emhoff does for a living and if he's likely to continue?

The WH residence staff likely wouldn't do that. Many of them work there for decades and take their jobs very seriously. I remember reading in Lillian Roger Parks' book, "My Thirty Years Backstairs At The White House", that her mother was maid to Florence Harding and after Warren was assassinated, Florence wouldn't leave the WH. Maggie (the maid) kept taking care of Florence for a week until she decided to leave so the Coolidges could move in.

The Fuck Nugget Empire is literally going to implode

Quote

The Trump Plaza Casino tower in Atlantic City, New Jersey, is set for implosion on January 29, just days after President-elect Joe Biden's presumptive Inauguration Day.

Critics of President Donald Trump and his ongoing "voter fraud" claims are citing the scheduled January demolition of the 39-story tower as a metaphor for his own behavior since Election Day. Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small announced an end to years of financial wrangling over the former Trump casino, which opened in 1984 before closing permanently in 2014. Atlantic City officials deemed the Trump Plaza structure on the famous Boardwalk a "public safety hazard" last March.

The building's demolition will mean there are no more major Trump properties left in Atlantic City. The New York Times reported Sunday that Trump's return to the family real estate business will be met with lingering financial problems and likely layoffs.

Billionaire developer Carl Icahn has owned the property since 2016 and the casino operations closed in September 2014. Trump Organization bankruptcies dating back as far as 1992 plagued the operation with financial troubles for years and city officials said the increasingly dilapidated building had become an eyesore. Citing disrepair, Trump in 2014 sued Trump Entertainment Resorts, which he no longer controlled, and demanded to have his name removed from the Trump Plaza building.

I guess we should be happy he’s not spewing ‘voter fraud’? Small victories ?

He knows it’s over for Trump, and legitimately so. Right now he’s just trying to get Purdue and Loeffler elected.

Still can’t believe her first husband was Gavin Newsom, Gov of CA. She goes through men pretty readily. Is that a conservative value?

I can imagine for the next 72 days there will be conversations like this in the fuck Nugget administration...

"When I schedule the press conference should I insist that the speakers have clean records?"

And they’ll probably be like mention it but don’t insist.

Doug Emhoff is a lawyer (entertainment, I think), although he took a leave of absence to focus on his wife's campaign. I didn't see anything though about what he'll be doing going forward.

McConnell: elections are fair and final if GOP won , otherwise not.

Forgive me while I scream in all caps, but McAngry does this to me. IF WE CAN NOT ACCEPT THESE BALLOTS THAT SHOW A POTUS WIN FOR BIDEN, WOULDNT THAT ALSO MEAN THAT WE CAN NOT CLAIM VICTORY FOR ALL THOSE REPUBLICAN HOUSE AND SENATE WINS? G-d Damn it, use some common sense. And what about all the states Trump won, should we trust those ballots? I know the rabid T supporters are low information and poorly educated,  but do these folks ever think things through? McConnell just basically confirmed Trump supporters are idiots and can not add 1+1 and get 2.

She gives us plenty of reasons to hate her, we don't have to care about the number of men she's been with.

IMO any criticism of her love life regarding that she must be an evil goblin to have chosen DJTJ is valid.  But the number is not.  I'm sure you didn't mean it that way but this felt super close to slut shaming to me.

It was a question in reference to her purported support of the far right and moral high ground. Sorry, if you make a ton of money off the message, your personal life should reflect said message, or will be open for criticism. This IS her bread and butter. Hate the BS preaching when the actions indicate anything but. ETA- this is the same reason I abhor the far right supporting Trump. Seriously? Two Corinthians, should have been the first clue that this dude is not living the tenets of Jesus. Hand on Bible in front of a Church, I thought my gentle, kind, quiet husband might commit murder on that one. I don’t care how many partners anyone might have, or what they do as long as both are consenting adults, but the words you use should match your actions, especially when you’re hauling in dough on that message.

But her part of the far right is Trump.  None of those people ever preached abstinence.

I think the message they are profiting off are self interest and dog whistles of hate.  If she were extolling the virtues of chastity I'd agree with you.

NBD.  And I hate that it seems like I'm defending that horrorshow, because I am not.  I just don't care about her number.
