I imagine that at her level of fame (and as a formal child actor), if she has anything close to a publicist, it's her mom. Who probably is in complete agreement with Lawson.

I'm still pondering if it's possible Tiffany is just collaborating with Lawson on a music video or something (pretty sure he's invited speculation like this before and it turned out to be a duet or music video or whatever). But her going to Tennessee AND him going to California, over Christmas, and her posting a pic of flowers saying she's "falling"....it's suspicious. Still wondering if there's a possibility it's someone else who's getting to know Tiffany and Lawson is there as chaperone/general hanger-on- but 1. Who? Trace? His age is closer to hers. Probably Jackson is closer in age too. Or a friend of Lawson's but that seems unlikely. Trace doesn't seem like a good fit if he wants a lady who will move to Tennessee (based on the Chaney relationship) and 2. Would he really go spend Christmas with some random family if he was just a chaperone?

Yeah I didn’t think of the collaboration idea. I think that could be a real possibility. He does love to drum up speculation.

May I ask everyone who doubts them being a couple why they're unsure? It seems pretty straightforward. Lawson and Tiffany probably didn't expect anyone to piece the puzzle together.

Personally, my doubt with Lawson and potential relationships centers around what I’m going to call past fakery.  His attempts to make it look like there is something out there, that’s just really a music video appearance or song collaboration.

If they didn't want anyone to know, they wouldn't be posting identical videos to their respective Instagram stories and Tiffany wouldn't be posting to social media about being in Tennessee for the holidays.

The two of them are being very deliberate in their messaging- they want to drum up speculation exactly like this before making any kind of formal announcement. It's very on-brand for Lawson, the fundie fame-whore.

But we only know the videos are identical because we knew Tiffany's identity. If we didn't know her Lawson's post would be just some Christmas post. And if we didn't know Lawson then Tiffany being in TN for the holidays would sound like she was yet another Nashville tourist. I think they just underestimated people's sleuthing capabilities.

For me it's this, plus their age difference, plus her being a somewhat successful/famous-ish actress (as in, why would she choose Lawson). So far I haven't seen a clear line drawn to know how they met (she's not from a fundie family that can be easily traced back to IBLP or some conference, etc.). I don't think Lawson minds the speculation because it's attention. I'd guess Tiffany would be less thrilled that a corner of the internet has deduced her beau (but also, both of them could stop dropping quasi-hints on instagram if they really didn't want people to know).

(I can't believe I've spent so much time thinking about Lawson's life and motivations but having time off when you can't go anywhere can do weird things to your mind!)

I agree it’s not definitive, but assuming this girl is fundie/fundie-lite (homeschooled, went to Liberty, etc), how many famous fundie suitors are there on the market for her? It’s an extremely small pool that seems to have started and ended with Kirk and Candace Cameron.
 

If she’s the equivalent of a fundie A-list celebrity, then Lawson must at least be a B. Even though it makes me want to vomit to say it, he is objectively attractive, and, unlike a lot of fundies, he’s not living in poverty. And his family may arguably only become even more famous with their good looks, SM cultivation, and boutique spinoffs. The Duggars being persistently mired in scandal has also elevated the profile of the Bates family.
 

On paper, I can see the appeal Lawson would have in her eyes. She might think she can’t do much better. And I doubt she’s encountering a ton of fundies on mainstream movie sets in LA. Her parents might be strongly encouraging this match to keep Tiffany in the fundie lifestyle while they still can.

Just thought I'd mention that Tiffany commented with a ? emoji on the Nathan/Esther pic on Esther's insta - so I'd assume they definitely all know each other and have been hanging out together. Now whether that means there's something serious going on between her and Lawson remains to be seen, of course...

I tried to do some digging to see when they may have met but I have no idea. The earliest she replied to one of his IGs is his very trumpy pre election post and the first interaction with the Bates I saw was Carlin liking her post from December 8. I doubt they have known each other too much longer than that. No clue how they met but her brother seems to have music industry connections so it could be that or his stuff with Esther Bateo since he was pretty desperate to get as many blue checks involved as possible. 
 

As for the theory that this is just a work thing I am not buying it. He spent Christmas with just her and her family. That is way more intimate than a work thing.

He posts a lot of pictures with Jamie Mazur who is Alessandra Ambrosios ex and baby daddy who owns a luxury denim brand. He has dated at least two IG models (Rachel Vallori and Gigi Paris) and is mutuals with fashion people like Poppy Delevigne (socialite and sister to Cara) and Jessica Hart (Victoria’s secret model), goes to burning man, and posts eastern philosophy stuff. The culture class between him and the Bates is just blowing my mind.

He works at an investment fund. He also (from the looks of his social media) spent this whole past year on vacation ?, got COVID from it, and post-recovery just kept on traveling (which Tiffany mentioned in her "COVID IS AN EXCUSE FOR THE SOCIALISTS TO TAKE OVER" post to show that she still takes COVID seriously!)

He's following Lawson on Instagram, too.
