Branch Trumpvidians 3: Too Many Deplorables

I've been home for not even 24 hours, and so far:
 * There is an American flag "Q" pillow on the couch, and a "Q WWG1WGA" placard on top of the fridge.

* The CIA is trying to kill Trump.

* Trump is her "beloved President" and she loves the Trump store.

* Chemtrails (which she's apparently been talking about with a woman at the garden center she goes to).

* The Deep State is digging underground tunnels. Somehow there is a map (I guess it never occurred to her that the Deep State isn't very good at their job if she has all this info...)

* Something about immigrants not respecting the countries they come to. She equates that with how badly Jewish and Irish immigrants were treated, as well as Native Americans, but somehow doesn't see the correlation.

* George Soros will "get his". "A lot of people" will be going to "Gitmo".

Apparently she's telling me all this so I won't be shocked when all the arrests happen (BTW, did you know Barr is investigating the treasonous people in the government?). She's also trying to accept that God has decided it's not my time to 'wake up' yet. ?

This Q Anon person is very irresponsible.
Also, it was a major mistake to ever involve religion in politics.

"63 million suckers, just waiting to be conned"

Spoiler

President Trump’s reelection campaign is raising ungodly amounts of money for next year’s election. As of the end of September, it had already raised $165 million and spent $100 million of it. Much of those contributions from eager Trump fans are being funneled into Facebook ads that fire right back at them.

But with all that money floating around, everybody wants to get in on the action, as Politico’s Maggie Severns reports:

As President Donald Trump raises money for his reelection campaign, he’s competing for cash with a growing mass of pro-Trump PACs, dark money groups and off-brand Facebook advertisers neither affiliated with nor endorsed by Trump’s campaign, which have pulled in over $46 million so far.

The groups mimic Trump’s brand in the way they look and feel. They borrow the president’s Twitter avatar on Facebook pages, use clips of Trump’s voice in robocalls asking for “an emergency contribution to the campaign” and, in some cases, have been affiliated with former Trump aides, such as onetime deputy campaign manager David Bossie. But most are spending little money to help the president win in 2020, POLITICO found.

And that’s before we even hit 2020. Just imagine how much these groups are going to pull in once the general election comes.

This is a new version of an old story on the right, one dating back decades. It began in the 1960s, when entrepreneurial conservatives such as Richard Viguerie realized that the grass-roots force that enabled Barry Goldwater to win the Republican presidential nomination was a fruitful market waiting to be exploited (Rick Perlstein has a lively history of how it happened).

In those days, the resource was lists of addresses, and the pitch came in direct mail, both with urgent appeals to save the country from godless liberals and in offers for a thousand different products. What those early right-wing go-getters learned was that miracle arthritis cures and requests for donations to fly-by-night political groups were merely different varieties of the same snake oil.

Each new political movement on the right, whether it was the rise of the religious right in the 1980s or the tea party in the 2000s, brought with it a new set of grifters looking to cash in. Sometimes they have something to sell, such as former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee hawking “biblical” cures for cancer. But there’s no easier grift to pull off than the one Severns documents, because the donors don’t expect anything for their money apart from the warm feeling of knowing they’re helping Trump get reelected.

So all you need to do is come up with a name that sounds legit (“Trump MAGA 2020 Committee” or some such); buy yourself a list with email addresses of marks (or, ahem, leads); start blasting out emails begging for donations to hold off the despicable Democrat secularist socialist elites who want to destroy America; and watch the money pour in.

Even the semi-legitimate ones are essentially pulling a scam. Some of these groups do indeed spend a portion of their contributions on pro-Trump advertising, but it’s only after they pay hefty fees to the consultants who set up the group in the first place.

From time to time in the past, someone on the right has lamented the way their voters are so easily exploited by the grifters in their midst. But in the Trump era, such protestations have become pointless. If there’s anything Trump has proven, it’s that the conservative rank and file are not just easily hoodwinked; they’re practically begging for you to take their money.

They didn’t just elect America’s biggest con artist, the man who created Trump University and the Trump Network and the Trump Institute and the Trump Foundation and all his other scams. They rallied behind him with an absolutely rapturous fervor, long after everyone understood exactly what he is. They cheer every lie he tells them, repeat every bizarre argument he makes and treat him like a demigod walking amongst us. If these suckers aren’t asking to be separated from their money, who could be?

It should be noted that the Trump campaign is none too pleased about the proliferation of pro-Trump scams; they’ve issued statements condemning these outside groups and demanding they cease their activities. Obviously, any dollar that goes to one of these groups is a dollar that might otherwise have gone to the campaign.

There’s another likely reason Trump’s aides are mad: They know how the boss feels about these sorts of things. As one senior administration official said about the orgy of graft that was his inauguration, “The president was really surprised to read all about the inauguration and who was trying to buy access and how, because the president doesn’t get any of that money.” In other words, it doesn’t matter if you run a scam, as long as Trump gets his taste.

But whether Trump is concerned about the wannabe Trump campaign groups is beside the point. With 63 million suckers out there just waiting to be conned, there’s no way he or his campaign can stop it.

Kind of sad that this is happening

Quote

Her husband’s steady shift to the political right during their 24-year marriage was a source of frustration and embarrassment for liberal Jennifer Merrill, but it wasn’t until the election of Donald Trump — and her husband’s support for the president — that she’d finally had enough.

Merrill moved out and filed for divorce.

“I just couldn't see sharing a bed with somebody that agreed with what Trump was doing when I was so against everything that Trump represented,” says Merrill, a book editor for a trade association, and the mother of three children. “He had no sensitivity for how I felt, that I felt so strongly about it, especially when I was going out and doing protests ... and he would just laugh about it and continue to defend [Trump]. So that just made me very, very angry.”

Merrill is among 11% of Americans who have ended a serious relationship due to political differences, according to a 2017 poll. One in 5 Americans say they know a couple whose marriage or relationship has been negatively affected by President Trump’s election.

The article said that there were other issues too so the marriage might have ended in any event even if the rightful President had been allowed to take office in 2017.

I can't see starting a relationship with a Branch Trumpvidian or staying in one either.  I am not that desperate.  I'm fairly flexible on most things but fuck face support is a non starter for me.

The article doesn't indicate that the shooter is a BT, but it seems likely: "A father was unhappy with his son’s haircut and shot the barber three times, Texas police say"

Spoiler

A 13-year-old boy made two trips to a barbershop in suburban Houston over the weekend: first to get his haircut, and a second time to witness his father argue with the barber over the outcome. Before it was all over, sheriff’s deputies say, the father shot the barber three times and then fled with his son.

Police are still searching for the suspect in the bizarre incident that went down in Katy, Tex., on Saturday just before 5 p.m. The suspect who brought his son in for a haircut went home but later returned to argue about it, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said in a bulletin about the incident.

After the man complained that the haircut was done improperly, the barber fixed it free of charge, Harris County Detective Wallace Wyatt told NBC 2 in Houston, But that wasn’t enough to stop the altercation from spilling out into the parking lot, where the boy was waiting in the car.

The man shot the barber three times, hitting him in his stomach, leg and arm, before driving off in what deputies say was a gray, four-door sedan.

The barber was in stable condition and is expected to survive, officials said.

“I think it’s just crazy for anyone to shoot anybody over a haircut, period,” Wyatt told KHOU. The detective said the most disturbing part of the incident is that the teen boy witnessed the shooting, “which makes him a part of this.”

“So this 13-year-old son knows he needs to come forward and tell us what happened,” Wyatt said. “The father knows he needs to come forward and tell us what happened, just to be an example, to be a good father and say: ‘I messed up. I have something to prove to my son, and this is how you fix it.’”

The Harris County Sheriff’s Department was not immediately available to comment early Monday.

I fucking hate D’Souza. If it wasn’t for fuck face he’d still be a convicted felon.

Meanwhile another big time BT may become a convicted felon.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is facing intensifying pressure from Florida prosecutors as they seek to increase charges against him in a wide-ranging prostitution case.

According to a report from the Sun-Sentinel’s Marc Freeman, state lawyers have filed a request to the Florida Attorney General’s office to increase Kraft's charge from two misdemeanors to a third-degree felony, which could earn him up to five years in prison.

The request to enhance the charge is quite unusual but would also depend on the state winning an appeal of a lower court ruling that tossed out video evidence against Kraft.

There’s no current timetable for when this legal matter might finish; Kraft is one of 25 people who face charges for this investigation into Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter, Florida. But even if he doesn’t face punishment from the legal system, he faces the possibility of punishment from the league later.

I soooo hope that happens.

Just in case anyone reading here doesn't also read the Jill Rodrigues threads, check this out. @Fruitcake found it and posted it there. These are the Rods most recent griftees.

Quote

”When she travels with her pastor husband, Thresa Tucker hands out an evangelistic tract that uses “The Andy Griffith Show” as an entry point for talking about Jesus. When they return home to Mount Airy, she said, she is reminded of how good they have it, pointing out the red barns that dot views of the Blue Ridge.

Tucker and her husband, David, said they voted for Trump because they want a more limited federal government. They mentioned social issues such as abortion, same-sex marriage and school prayer.

The Tuckers were also dismayed when their health insurance bill skyrocketed. Before Obamacare, they had no health insurance and paid out of pocket. Their monthly bill will rise from $115 a month now to $435 next year, Thresa Tucker said.

Many of those who have lost jobs seek help at White Plains Baptist Church, where her husband is preacher. But not all who seek help are worthy of it, she said. The church has to be a good steward of its money, so there are criteria for assistance, and she asks whether people attend church regularly. African Americans who have voiced concerns over what Trump will do for the poor would have a different perspective if they tried harder to help themselves, she said.

“I think black people think they’re owed something,” she said. “I think if they acted differently, people would be apt to help them.” She later added that some white people expect handouts, too.

“I believe Trump will get people back to working,” she said.

David Tucker said people resent it when the government tries to supplant the role of local ministries in helping those in need. “Don’t try to change us into something like New York,” he said. “All we really want is for the government to leave us alone and to worship the way we want to.”

I guess the non-working, greedy Rods were worthy of help because they are white, Trump fans and go to church. :angry-banghead:

What these idiots probably are too fornicating stupid to realize is that Griffith tended to vote for and support Democrats.  He publicly supported  President Obama and NC Governors Mike Easley and Bev Perdue.

Of course BTs would probably love to whitewash (pun most definitely intended) Griffith as someone who would be a total Branch Trumpvidian if he was still alive.  I'm glad Griffith didn't live long enough to see Fornicate Face get in to office.

This was not a genuine photograph, however, but a composite of at least two different pictures.

The first photograph, which features a young Ivanka and her father standing next to a motorcycle, was taken in 1993 at the grand opening of the Harley Davidson Cafe in New York City.

That doesn't make Trump less of a shit, and there are other photos of him with Epstein, but that particular combination didn't actually happen.

A couple Branch Trumpvidians in Boone decided to paint their building

Quote

If you take a stroll in downtown Boone at the intersection of the 800 block of Story Street, it’ll be difficult not to notice the massive red, white and blue colors surrounding an image of President Donald Trump.

The mural painters started stenciling on Sunday, Dec. 22, and worked for two more days adding blue and white stars surrounding one big blue star with the image of the president off to the right.

When the building’s owner, Dee McKnight, was asked what the mural's inspiration was, she said, “I couldn’t really say.”

Both Dee and her husband, Carl McKnight, are franchisees of Remax in Boone and are also realtors and landlords.

Being fornicate face supporters I’d say their inspiration was probably being assholes.  I sure as hell wouldn’t use them if I needed a realtor.

Ingenious idea!

When we were on satellite I blocked Fixed News. I didn’t really care what everyone else watched but I drew the line on Fox. I figured since I was the one paying for it that it was my decision on what channels to block or leave open.

Since we moved to streaming I haven’t been able to figure out how to block Fixed News. If I could I would since I pay for both the internet and streaming. But they don’t watch Fixed News anyways.

It would be different if they were paying for the services and then I’d probably not block it.

So... under Obama they went from no health insurance to getting insurance for $115 a month. Under Trump, costs are basically quadrupling. But they LOOOOVE Trump?

They think people should work for their money, but are totally OK with Trump spending millions and millions of taxpayer dollars to go hang out in Florida and play golf every single weekend.

They want a limited government, and want government to leave them alone. But they also want the government to regulate marriage and abortion, which means the government getting into other peoples' business.

And they don't for a minute see any contradictions or irony there!

(Also, Boone. Boone is largely a college town. I expect at least some students will be disgusted by that mural. I think it's not a coincidence that the painting was all done during Christmas break!)

Millions of Americans could be entering 2020 without Fox News, which is currently the most-watched cable network in the country. Thanks to extended contract disagreements between the overarching Fox company and a collection of smaller TV providers, Fox News and multiple Fox Sports channels could go dark for customers unless some rather large and quick changes go into effect.

This is by Marc Thiessen, Trump lover.  It's the last paragraph that gives me hope.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2019/12/30/worst-things-trump-did/

Quote

In past years, many entries on my “worst” list were mistakes of style, not substance. But this year, the number and seriousness of the president’s substantive mistakes grew. On balance, the good still outweighs the bad in the Trump presidency. But the bad is getting worse.
