I remember back in the day I brought this up to my mom and she said they shared beds. Is that not longer true? or was it ever true?

Back when the younger set of girls were younger than they are now, I believe that was true. I'm pretty sure the oldest girls even mention in their book that Jordyn and Josie sleep in the same bed as an older sister.

It has to be. There are only 4 beds in that room and 10 (if you include Meredith) people sleeping there. Assuming the baby sleeps in a pack n play at least one bed has to have at least 3 people in it.  I don't think there have been enough beds in the girls room for everyone to get their own since Johanna moved in.  Even when they had that bunk bed with two little beds on the bottom (as seen in the video posted) it's still only 7 beds to 9 girls.

I don't think there's anything wrong with photos of your parents in your room. But...it's him, by himself, and it's an older picture. That's what makes it a little strange to me.

After Jill got married she made a comment to Derick that Joy took over her bed. I'm sure the little ones sleep in the beds with the older ones. So weird.

I was shocked to hear that. Anatomy and Physiology is a rigorous course. I took it from an accredited university, but I would guess it's challenging anywhere

I think this was college Minus version of A andP.

In my A and P class, circa 1977, we had to work with cadavers. Anyone think Jill learned with the aid of such? Did she attend 3 hours of lecture, plus 6 hours of lab time/week for a full year during her course work? Somehow, I doubt it.

Before they moved to the TTH, the older girls were sharing a bed with the younger boys.

This must have been after the Josh molestation. Strange.

That what seems kind of squicky to me, too. "Hey, girls...check out what a hottie your dad was back in the day." :puke:

Why are we assuming that Anna and her kids are still sharing the rooms of the young Duggars?  I just don't believe that the Duggars would keep Anna and Josh apart.  She is supposed to help him return to Jesus through her availability and so forth.  She can't be available in the girls' room.  Regarding what the arrangements were before, there may be trundle beds under some of th beds that we see.

Is anyone living in the house (it's been established that JD still lives at home, so it's not him)? It's not good to let a house just sit vacant, so the logical thing would be for JD to rent the house until he's ready to live in it.

Oh I thought he was living there by himself. Why would you live at home as a 26 year old when you have a house of your own.? I'm guessing some weird Duggar-logic will explain that.

Thanks.  I have been writing parodies since high school; they are fun.  I think this is the first one I have started on a forum for others to join in. I thought this forum is so rich on snark that we would have a lot of good ideas.  And I was right.

However no one yet has said anything about

                        Scandal and the Ardug

The Ardug have specific behavioral rules, most of which are designed to help keep the young "pure" (This means ignorant in the Ardug dialect.)  As discussed earlier, the practice of Nike is in force at all times to help the males resist the temptation of master baiting.  Further, because the females have the power to arouse sexual desire simply by existing, Safegaurds must be in place to prevent male sexuality from expressing itself improperly.

A tragic example of how the mere presence of females around adolescent males may lead the males to transgress is the case of Shush, the young son of the Chieftain, whose whole life has been ruined by letting Tanass, the tempter, build a cabin in his heart, and pursuing sexual gratification in ways not sanctioned by Susje and the tribe.

His first offense was to grope his sisters and at least one visitor from another tribe. The Ardug viewed this offense as at least partly the fault of the females (for after all they were female) but they took what they considered necessary steps to protect Shush from long term consequences of his transgression while also punishing him. Shush was sent to a nearby small island where he was subjected to hard labor and prayer until Tanass had, they hoped, been beaten.

A woman from another, likeminded tribe was purchased for Shush's needs as soon as possible, and after a lesson with Legos, Shush was given complete sexual access and dominion over her.  Unfortunately, unbeknownst to the family, Tanass was still around.  His infidelity being discovered, the Ardug sent Shush away to another prayer and work program for six months during which his mate was lovingly shamed and instructed in the importance of not letting him stray again.

Even after his return, Shush is not fully incorporated in the public life of the Ardug.  It is not known what his fate may be, but infidelity and pornography have made him a pariah in the tribe. Molesting one's sisters, among the Ardug, is a relatively minor offense (apparently it is not viewed with the same disgust of master baiting), but turning attention away from the mate provided by the father/chieftain is a major transgression, especially once it was known by other tribes.

The upcoming multi-tribe gathering on Sandy Island will be marred for the Ardug by the public shame of the Chieftain's son. Even so, the Ardug way is to present themselves with pride, because they know that  Susje favors them, and in any case, they are leaving Shush home.

Next . . .

Next is the Ardug method of education. There are very strict guidelines to be sure the young do NOT learn very much. This is to keep their culture pure.  The three R's, well and good. Select Bible verses are mandatory, but out of context, and there is to be no discussion of meaning. Children will be told what the Bible means. History, literature, social sciences, all are banned from polite Ardug society. But science most of all is gravely forbidden.

There is more, much more. But time forbids me listing it now. Any one else?

She was studying Anatomy and Physiology? Studying?  How old was she here? I assumed that by her age, she was out of school. Good for her for still doing something educational. Not that her parents have made it a priority, for sure! (P.S. And we homeschool ourselves, so I'm not criticizing homeschoolers on principle! :content:)

She did some midwifery studies, didn't she?

The young Ardugs must, at some point, must make a pilgrimage to the anti science museum, to prevent them from ever developing a real interest in this most forbidden of topics.

Rumor has it this museum is in Kentucky, and that there is a petting zoo.

Nepis was feeling twitchy and nervous. His wedding day had finally arrived.  The numerous mini clans of the tribe were arriving at the gathering place in swathes.

People were expecting a dignified performance from him during the ceremony (he must remember not to wave his hands about during the ritual singing). He knew that he could let his guard down  later, after the official parts were done with, it would be his night then. He was sure he could come up trumps, not disappoint anyone. He knew his father-in-law especially was expecting big things from him.

Ah, Nepis sighed, his FIL. What a man. 11enty new Ardugs given to the tribe-and over such a brief period of time. The man was a leg-end in his own life time. OK not everything had gone as smoothly as it could have, but still!

Nepis thought longingly about the suprise his FIL had announced late yesterday evening at the male only party. ( the games were not anything to write home about but they had all had a good giggle into their grape juice over the Lego talk). A mower. His own,at last. How he had watched (jealously, he was ashamed to admit-although he would make up for it later. He had already purposed to visit the prayer closet.) whilst the Ardug Son-in-law team had learned to operate their own beautiful shiny machines.

The way the paint shone in the sunlight!

The SILs riding them as proudly as cowboys riding new steeds, hats peaks pulled down low  to protect the pale Ardug necks from the fierce island sun.

Next.....

Sad to say that it seems common (even with non-fundies) for kids to live at home well into their 20's and sometimes beyond. I think it's partly because rent/mortgage and whatnot is so expensive. But I think for some, it's also because they are just lazy and enjoy mommy and daddy cooking and cleaning for them.

The unmarried Duggars can't even have their own bedroom at home.  There's no way one could live in their own home without any accountability buddies.  The temptations would be too strong.  There's just no way.  He'll be at home til' he marries his accountability buddy.

Honestly I forgot that Josh was home now. So they're probably back in the guest house now.  As for the trundle beds, I just watched the redecorating scene and there definitely aren't trundles under those beds.  They're not high enough off the ground.  So now we have 7 people and four beds.  I'm guessing Josie and Jordyn share with Jana, Johanna got Jessa's old bed, and assuming they were telling the truth about Joy getting Jill's bed then she probably shares with Jennifer.  I'm pretty mad they took out that bunk bed. Everyone could've had their own bed.

Agree.  One of my favorite pictures of my parents is one taken on their wedding day, as they are stepping out of the church.  I have that in my living room.  Why just a prominent photograph of their father as a younger man up on the wall?  Why not one of their mother as well?  Is it supposed to be reassuring, as in "your father is always looking out for you?"  I always thought it was vanity on JB's part - wanting his daughters to see him first thing in the morning, and last thing at night.  Douche.

I can definitely understand if you don't have the resources (Getting an apartment in my city can take up to 1-1.5 years and that is if you have a secure employment) but freeloading off your parents when you have the resources and even another place to live? Embarassing.

I love my mother but I moved as soon as I got a job at 19 because living at home was just too stressful for me and my mom. After I moved out, our relationship became much better.

Due to their preoccupation with procreation, there are several rituals associated with pregnancy and childbirth.

One is called something that sounds like "Jinder Reveal." (Sometimes their dialect is beyond my capabilities, forgive me.)

This is a festival where one color or another will be disclosed, to great excitement. This excitement is in spite of the fact that it is either pink or blue. (When purple has been shown as the appropriate color for a particular pregnancy, abortion suddenly becomes acceptable.) Many people congregate, surrounded by clues such as plastic painted flamingos. On at least one such occasion, both pink and blue doves were released, and a team came out and shot all the pink doves, to reveal (drum roll) BLUE.. Cheap food is often served.

The "baby shower" is another such celebration. This too, is a group of both sexes, apparently the females if left alone just gape at each other. Males are present to be sure of conversation and offering opening. This ritual includes games for both males and females,

Did this really happen?  How did I miss that?

I would find the photograph normal if he had died or if they couldn't see each other very much. But they see the guy every fucking day and he sleeps like 5 feet away from them

Maybe the photo next to it is Michelle around the same age? I don't know. It just looks so weird.
