Whenever I see their room, I remember that there's a framed photo of teenage JB on the wall. :my_confused:

Really? I ate today! LOL

But really, that always put me off a good bit. Does Michelle have her picture in either kids' room? JB is such an egotistical ass.

I would assume Michael and Marcus would stay in the boys' room (though I don't know where they'd find room for them there either). With Anna, Mackynzie, and Meredith, they may triple up in one bed. But I agree; the math doesn't add up.

Anna had a pretty big bed, there. My guess is Meredith is in a pac/play at the foot & Mac. is in w/Anna. JA/Jgr/Joy are over where the bathroom is, & the 3 littles are in the big, open space.

In the boys' room, JD & Josh's beds are empty. Michael & Marcus must be in there. Remember, they just built those new bunks.

When they redecorated the room, they had substituted a bunk bed (I think double on the bottom, single on top) for one of the twin beds that had initially been in there--it looked like the three littles were in that bed and Johanna had probably taken over Jessa's  singled bed.  That would leave Jill's double bed for Anna and Mac.  Joy and Jinger still had their single beds and Jana may have actually been allowed to sleep alone in her double bed!

That big house and only 2 bedrooms for all those kids. I do not believe for one second that is what the kids wanted.

I actually do believe some of the kids wanted to share.  Partly because they were indoctrinated into believing they wanted what their parents wanted.  Partly because at the time the house was being built, little girls were being touched inappropriately by their brother.  For an older girl in that house, having the little ones close would enable them to know who was around them at their most vulnerable.

I'm sure some of his sweet J'Slave sisters go over and do it.

Meanwhile, in China-- http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2016/04/18/china-cracking-down-on-children-on-reality-tv/

Well, girls like to clean. And what else do they have to do once they finish the laundry?

Interesting about China.

Sorry to tangent here a bit but every time I see a glimpse of the girls room in the TTH I can't help but think where do they all sleep! Like seriously I count four beds in there and there are how many people sleeping in there? Anna, Jana, Jinger, Joy, Johanna, Jenny, Jordryn, Josie, and presumably Mackynzie and maybe Marcus and Michael? Even with doubling up that's not enough beds.  I would have thought they'd keep Anna and her kids in the guest house for room but I guess that's too much freedom for a woman.

I am assuming the M's and Anna along with Josh are living in a separate house.  This could be their old house, the guest house, the house with a pool or a special house with no internet access where it is easier to keep Josh from sliding.

What I fail to understand is that when the decorator came to their house, Johannah was already born (she got a crib in a nook of JB/M's room, where I presume later went to the other Lost Girls as they were born).  Why did they only design the girls' room for the J-slaves and Joy when they knew in a matter of time Johannah would be in there.  Why did they not get her a bed (with her name) to add to it.

Maybe Jeebus spoke to them in a dream.

Unfortunately, that would require them to use logic. :my_dodgy:

I always see mention of this but haven't seen it myself. Was it in an episode or photo or what? I need to see this. Blech.

@ClaraOswin, it's in the first few seconds of this video. I tried to get a screenshot but I was too lazy. :)

I just wanted to add that I don't necessarily have a problem with pictures of your parents in your bedroom. I have a small framed photo of myself with my parents on my vanity. I do, however, think it's creepy given the context of this family.

Maybe they didn't want to emphasize just how many children, and teens, were sharing the space.

EmCatlyn has done this before, I suspect! Very good idea.  And very well done.

Thanks.  I have been writing parodies since high school; they are fun.  I think this is the first one I have started on a forum for others to join in. I thought this forum is so rich on snark that we would have a lot of good ideas.  And I was right.

However no one yet has said anything about

                        Scandal and the Ardug

The Ardug have specific behavioral rules, most of which are designed to help keep the young "pure" (This means ignorant in the Ardug dialect.)  As discussed earlier, the practice of Nike is in force at all times to help the males resist the temptation of master baiting.  Further, because the females have the power to arouse sexual desire simply by existing, Safegaurds must be in place to prevent male sexuality from expressing itself improperly.

A tragic example of how the mere presence of females around adolescent males may lead the males to transgress is the case of Shush, the young son of the Chieftain, whose whole life has been ruined by letting Tanass, the tempter, build a cabin in his heart, and pursuing sexual gratification in ways not sanctioned by Susje and the tribe.

His first offense was to grope his sisters and at least one visitor from another tribe. The Ardug viewed this offense as at least partly the fault of the females (for after all they were female) but they took what they considered necessary steps to protect Shush from long term consequences of his transgression while also punishing him. Shush was sent to a nearby small island where he was subjected to hard labor and prayer until Tanass had, they hoped, been beaten.

A woman from another, likeminded tribe was purchased for Shush's needs as soon as possible, and after a lesson with Legos, Shush was given complete sexual access and dominion over her.  Unfortunately, unbeknownst to the family, Tanass was still around.  His infidelity being discovered, the Ardug sent Shush away to another prayer and work program for six months during which his mate was lovingly shamed and instructed in the importance of not letting him stray again.

Even after his return, Shush is not fully incorporated in the public life of the Ardug.  It is not known what his fate may be, but infidelity and pornography have made him a pariah in the tribe. Molesting one's sisters, among the Ardug, is a relatively minor offense (apparently it is not viewed with the same disgust of master baiting), but turning attention away from the mate provided by the father/chieftain is a major transgression, especially once it was known by other tribes.

The upcoming multi-tribe gathering on Sandy Island will be marred for the Ardug by the public shame of the Chieftain's son. Even so, the Ardug way is to present themselves with pride, because they know that  Susje favors them, and in any case, they are leaving Shush home.

Next . . .

I think it's possible that they really did want to share of a room but really didn't understand what that meant long term. My sister and I had our own rooms and then one day decided it would be fun to share. So we moved my bed into her room and it was fun and exciting for all of a week or so. Then came the realization that we were sharing a room. Didn't take long for a string to be drawn down the middle of the room dividing my space from her space. Not sure how many weeks it lasted but I was soon  back in my own room again.

Something I've been thinking about..... who cleans John David's house?

Is anyone living in the house (it's been established that JD still lives at home, so it's not him)? It's not good to let a house just sit vacant, so the logical thing would be for JD to rent the house until he's ready to live in it.

By big open space do you mean the floor? I guess I wouldn't put it passed them.  And I think you mean four little ones: Johanna, Jennifer, Jordyn, and Josie.

As for the boys room, the last look we had in there (the derby car episode) showed 5 triple bunk beds and one single so there should be plenty of room in there for Anna's boys.

Based on the video iweartanktops posted and the renovation episode, it looks like they just removed the bunk bed and added nothing.  There used to be that bunkbed, two twins (Jinger and Jessa's), and two fulls (Jill and Jana's). Now there's just the two twins and two fulls.  Joy's twin bed hasn't been seen in a long time.  I'm guessing Joy now sleeps in Jessa's empty bed, Anna and Mac are in Jill's, Jinger and Jana are in their original beds, two of the little girls sleep with Jana and the other two share with Joy and Jinger.

Another strange feature of the Ardugs is their relationship with domestic animals.  They are seen for brief moments, then never seen again. No one has yet found out what happens to these poor beasts. Are they set loose, used in a strange ritual, or what? We don't know for sure. Our observers once saw one being used for target practice by a wild out of control Ardug mate. We do not know if this is a common practice in this tribe.

She was studying Anatomy and Physiology? Studying?  How old was she here? I assumed that by her age, she was out of school. Good for her for still doing something educational. Not that her parents have made it a priority, for sure! (P.S. And we homeschool ourselves, so I'm not criticizing homeschoolers on principle! :content:)

I was shocked to hear that. Anatomy and Physiology is a rigorous course. I took it from an accredited university, but I would guess it's challenging anywhere

She was 21/22 at the time (judging by the post date), probably studying material for midwifery.

I remember back in the day I brought this up to my mom and she said they shared beds. Is that not longer true? or was it ever true?
